0007 Day One Done on the Cat House (G-Rated)
Originally posted on Facebook 10/23/19: Finally, construction started!
Remember, the previous owners (who lived there since 1960) left a lot of stuff including the contents of the pole barn. Riding lawn mower, push lawn mowers, tools, electric tools, garden stuff, etc. I sold a lot on Facebook Marketplace and it helped pay for the construction of this room.

0004 Good Night TC
Originally posted on Facebook 10/29/19: I had to put my TC to sleep due to complications of Hyperthyroidism and old age. In the video, TC is around 15. The text I wrote on FB:
I promised my kitties that I would not let them get to the point where they wasted away until they could only breathe, sleep, and suffer. TC, king of Acacia Street, I kept that promise to you. Thank you for being a joy in my life for 17 years. Whenever I hear a bell on a collar ringing, I will remember you and smile.
TC didn't make it to the new house. I did bury him behind the pole barn and planted a Rose of Sharon bush on top. He lived a long and carefree life. As I always say, our pets have no concept of time. A day with love, endless laziness and food, is a lifetime to a pet. So, TC had 17X365 of lifetimes.

0002 Tour of the Backyard and Pole Barn
Originally posted on Facebook 10/02/19: The tour of my new home continues out in back with the back yard and pole barn. At this time (back in Oct 2019) I had 10 cats living in my old, tiny house. Eight in the basement and two on the main level.
My plan for the pole barn is to build a large room to house the basement cats. From the barn's window, my dream is to build a Catio (patio for cats) so they can enjoy the outdoors. No more stuffy, damp basement! The two remaining cats will be house cats. These cats in the basement are fostered cats that were never adopted when I was with a rescue group. So, technically I adopted them. Most I have had for years and are seniors. Since the posting of this video, I lost three over my first winter due to complications from old age. All had a lifetime of love and care. I miss them terribly. In memory of them, TC, Dorie, and Bobo.
So, it being October, my priority was to build that room ASAP! I could not move my furry children to their new home until the "Cat House (G-Rated)" was built. I was under pressure to build before winter hit hard.
A side note, two weeks after closing on my house, I lost my job. However, my faith and trust in God had me shrugging my shoulders, being positive (I practice the Law of Attraction) and happy that I could take my time in transitioning from my old house to my new house. It was just me and my Honda moving 17 years of stuff! As for money, I had a buffer in savings plus unemployment benefits.
As for the old house, the plan was to secure a Deed in Lieu (signing house over to the mortgage company without paying anymore of the mortgage) for the old house. (FYI: In May of 2020, the Deed in Lieu was signed!)

Sorry for the poor video quality. I am downloading videos from Facebook. I am playing catch-up on what has happened this past year at the new house.

0006 A Real Kitchen and a Surprise Find!
Originally posted on Facebook 10/26/19: In my old house I had a tiny, pathetic galley kitchen with the ugliest sunflower wallpaper. No window. No counter space. Old white porcelain sink that just drove me crazy with it always getting scuffed, stained, and marked. I hated that kitchen. Never cooked. Was a professional micro-waver. Also, there was no room for a dining table. So, for 17 years, I ate in the living room and had nobody over for any kind of formal dinner. I was totally un-inspired to cook.
One thing about this house that was very important to me was that I could have people over to entertain and to COOK!
Note: I am an Original Christian. I observe the 7th day Sabbath which starts on Friday at sunset and ends on Saturday at sunset. No, I am not Jewish or a Seventh Day person. Fact (remember, I prove all things), the 7th day always has been on Saturdays, but the Roman's changed it to Sunday in 321 AD. This was so Constantine could co-mingle his pagan beliefs (worship of the sun on SUNday), and his growing Christian beliefs. Many true Christians died because they refused to change the Sabbath day to Sunday. Look it up. Also, Christ observed the 7th day Sabbath. I just walk as He walked. Staying true to His Word.

Oh, I decided to keep the entertainment center. It sold on Facebook Marketplace but we could not get it out of the house. So I refunded. I like it now.

0001 Closing Day on My Dream House and Tour
Originally posted on Facebook 10/02/19: I had just closed on my dream house and entering the house for the first time as official owner. Mind you, I was coming from the city where I lived in a tiny 708 square foot house where I owned since 2002. I used the basement to foster and house my small herd of rescued cats. The neighborhood had gone downhill and I no longer felt safe. Now, I was in the country, in a 1500 square foot house with a huge 26 x 50 pole barn!
The house I was moving into was owned by a couple who built it in 1960 and lived there all their lives. They both had to move into assisted living and all the knick-knacks, books, furniture, electronics, etc. they left as part of the sale. All that you see in the tour this couple left! I felt very blessed and everything just screamed (from first sight) that God wanted me to dwell here.
Next video is of the huge Pole Barn where I planned on building the "Cat House (G-Rated)" or an interior room for my small herd of cats that I kept in the basement of my old house.

0009 Cat House (G-Rated) Tour and Introducing Twitter and Cookie
Originally posted on Facebook 11/18/2019: Tour of Cat House and introduction to Twitter (friendly fat teddy-bear) and Cookie (terrified Tuxedo youngster crying in the corner).
Twitter was a stray that showed up at my doorstep, skinny and homeless way back in 2013 (I think). He is the most friendly, fearless and laid back cat imaginable. None of my other cats are overweight, so I think that something got messed up when he was neutered.
Cookie is the youngest of my mob (at that time). He was found in my neighborhood as a very sickly 5-week old kitten. The neighbor kids tried to catch him but when they couldn't, they came to the 'Crazy Cat Lady' to see if I could catch him. They were amazed that this little, scared, sick kitten crawled right into my arms. I turned into Nurse Kitty mode and nursed him back to health and into my heart.

0005 First Official Pet-In-The-House!
Originally posted on Facebook 10/26/19: So, I had been going back and forth between old house and new house, slowly packing and moving and taking care of cats while Cat House was being built. Got to the point where I needed that warm fuzzy near me.
Introducing Birdie! She was a stray that showed up in 2016 under my bird feeder and bush. No luck in finding her original owner. In the meantime, I fell in love. She has to be 'perching' on me at all times. She chirps and flutters around me. So she got my name too...Birdie. She is my constant joy.

0003 The Cat House (G-Rated) Layout!
Originally posted on Facebook 10/13/19: Hired a handyman to build the room for my cats. This was going to be done while I was away for two weeks up north at a fellowship gathering with brethren. Home Depot was going to deliver the supplies while I was gone as well. Soooo...that was the plan...
I left on my trip (2 1/2 hours away), and I tried to get a hold of Ron, the handyman, the next day only to find him not answering. Concerned, I drove all the way back to find nothing was being done. Home Depot said they showed up but nobody was at the house to meet them. Yes, I thought the worse for about a minute, but I dismissed it. I was a good judge of character and Ron showed me all his paperwork and local jobs that he did. Something was wrong.
I drove Ron's home and his truck was there but no answer. I was worried so I called the police to do a welfare check. The police told me that he 'would not be able to do my project...ever." To make a long story short, my handyman committed suicide the night before by drowning himself. Sad story, really. He was deeply depressed about a number of things.
I met with his friends (who were going to help him with my project) and they said that they will do the job for me. I would have to wait until I got back from my trip. My handyman cashed the down payment of 50% already and I was not able to get it back in Probate Court. Again, my faith and trust in God, just had me grateful the blessing of his good friends and that the room wouldn't be to delayed.

0013 Darcy is in the House!
Darcy is the second cat that will be living in the house with me. She doesn't get along with the other cats very well in the Cat House (G-Rated) and she has to have special food for her very sensitive stomach.
Darcy was a very sick and pregnant kitty when I rescued her in 2009. She had a beautiful litter of kittens and all got homes. I did have Darcy up for adoption but as things go, I learned that I needed her as much as she needed me. She disappears when people come over, but when they are gone, she is snugglebug and playful, and her affection for me cannot be denied.
