If you believe the Bible, but say evolution is true, you are calling Jesus a liar. Why? Because Jesus treated Genesis as real history, such when He spoke about the creation of humans, and His referring to Able as a real person. In addition, the New Testament quotes or alludes to Genesis over 100 times... such as Peter talking about Noah's flood as a historical event. Genesis is real history. I'm often told that I'm an idiot. I'm just a pastor with some scientific knowledge. How dare I tell a PhD scientist their science is wrong! Humanists claim that because Christians believed in the supernatural, that instead of seeking scientific solutions, we turned exclusively to religious practices to get the assistance of supernatural beings or to thwart the influence of malicious ones. A pastor's primary job is to feed and protect the sheep. There is an infection spreading in the church today called by various names... spiritual formation, contemplative prayer, mindfulness... but it all has the same source... Hinduism and New Age spiritualism. None of these are Biblical... although their promoters come up with ways to misuse scripture to promote them. We'll talk more about these in future videos. I once visited a church where the pastor said that the Bible tells us we are to meditate... and it does. Then he went on to teach Eastern meditation... teaching how to calm yourself, empty your mind and focus on a single verse or word. That's not Biblical meditation! Biblical meditation involves filling your mind with God's word, thinking about it and how it relates to other parts of scripture and... how it relates your life. Biblical meditation IS Bible study. The government today is doing the opposite of what scripture says government should be doing. Romans 13:3 & 4 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. 1 Peter 2:13 & 14 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, 14 or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. 1 Timothy 2:1 & 2 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. The government should not be involved in education, welfare, providing housing, providing school loans, or anything else not related to fighting evil and praising that which is good.

If God is good, and God is all powerful, why doesn't He get rid of evil? The answer is... He will. But you may not be ready for Him to do that. Are babies sinners? Yes, they are. What is the punishment for sin? The second death, eternity in the lake of fire. How can we be saved from this? By trusting that Jesus Christ has already paid that penalty on our behalf, paid it in full. Can babies or children understand this? What does the Bible mean when it talks about God's wrath? God's wrath is not an out-of-control angry type of wrath. That's the way we (and the pagan god humans created) react. God's wrath is His response to human sin and disobedience. Romans chapter one describes God's wrath... He gives them over to the lusts of their hearts. He gives them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper. In other words, God withdraws His restraint on sin and people do as they desire... and it's not good. A common way to attack God and the Bible is to claim the God of the Old Testament was wicked and and evil, and the God of the New Testament was a God of love. Hosea 13:16 is often used to show God commands the killing of babies. But it's the same God in both he Old and New Testament and He does not change, and Hosea 13:16 shows what happens when people reject God, and He withdraws, giving them what they wanted. It is the foundation of all scripture. It is attacked because it is the foundation. And because it is so foundational, we need to know what God is telling us in these chapters. Not only is Genesis 1-11 the foundation, the first ten words, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” These ten words are foundational to all that will follow. They identify the creator. They explain the origins of the world. They tie the work of God in the past to the work of God in the future. And they show us they EVERYONE knows there is a God... God is real, and is the one who created everything, including us.

Since There Is A Creation, There Must Be A Creator: In Romans chapter 1 God says everyone knows He exists because they can see the creation, but some people suppress that knowledge. And that means when they stand before God to be judged, they will have no excuse. "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools." - Romans 1:18-22 The principle is... if we see a painting, we know there is a painter. If we see a building, we know there is a builder. It's called the law of causality. If something has a beginning, it has a cause. We see the creation, we know there is a creator... God is real. A claim I often hear is that the miracles in the Bible are obviously impossible, and that means the Bible is a fairy tale. But, in the Bible's case there were eye-witnesses. Thousands of eyewitnesses who were still living when the Bible was written. Fairy tales don't have eyewitnesses to the events they describe... the Bible does. Can an atheist prove there is no God? No. It's impossible to prove a negative. To prove there is no God requires knowledge of everything everywhere... God may be busy working in the Andromeda galaxy right now. If they see no evidence here, can the atheist go check in the Andromeda galaxy? No. No one can have all knowledge of everything, everywhere. The best an atheist can say is, I do not believe God exists. It's a faith statement. The most anyone can say is they are agnostic, they don't know if God exists. There is a question most atheists can't or won't answer. It's a simple, but a necessary question... "You say you have not see any evidence God exists. What evidence would you accept?" I've asked that question for 20 years, and in the very few times I've have gotten an answer, it has been unreasonable, or the atheist admits that the answer actually would not change their mind. Is your church or school encouraging the practice of Mindfulness? It's taught as a way to relax and calm down. What it actually is... is a form of Easter meditation.
