Just one. Last week, pastor Kenneth Pack discussed the first two of the three parables that Jesus spoke concerning the "one" that was lost and all that God will do to save that one soul. The third out of the three has been told so many times in both secular and Christian sides that it could be a renowned as the best story of all time. A story of loss and redemption. A story of one who had wealth, threw all away, and had all of it restored. So much can be taught on the story of the prodigal son but the point that Jesus is making is that anyone...anyone can come home. It is never too late. Any builder will tell you that when you start building any house whether big or small, you need a good, solid foundation. Not having a solid foundation can cause all sorts of issues for a home, building, or even a high-rise building. A lot of thought goes into this and the same should be said when following Jesus Christ. As followers, we should be deeply rooted in the solid "Rock" (Jesus) so that when the storms of life come raging in, we can stand firm on our faith in Jesus and not be swept away. If our foundation is not deeply rooted in Jesus, we can expect the house (ourselves) to fall. Patience. It is something we have to exercise, especially with the events that are unfolding in this world as we speak. We want God to move. We want God to deliver us. We want to hear the trumpet and go home, however, we need to wait on God's timing. From Genesis to Revelation, each individual spoken about in the Bible had to wait on God's timing.
