“The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age.” -Aldous Huxley I love the contrast of this beautiful quote from Huxley, juxtaposed to his dystopian ‘Brave New World’ book that made him famous. All we have to do is observe the purity and imagination of children to remember and recapture our own genius that many adults have lost along the way. It was a joy to use old footage of me as a 4-year-old girl playing outdoors in my swimsuit on my big wheel, and footage from my niece and nephews this fall. Growing your own herbs to use in the kitchen or for medicinal purposes is a true blessing! It is wise to encourage children to grow their own gardens and know the properties of herbs. My 4-year-old niece, Josie, understood the benefits of peppermint in our backyard garden. How adorable to observe her zeal to pick basil and mint and add it to her family’s water glasses. Herbs, in addition to flavoring our meals, have so many health benefits as well. As I upload this video, I’ve decided to plant more herbs today and will purchase seeds for thyme and oregano. My indoor garden is growing 2 types of basil and parsley, and the outdoor garden yields a rotunda of wild chives, 3 plots of dill and several pots of basil and peppermint. Mother Nature is such an amazing gift! Do you take time to revel in her majesty? A profound walking meditation through the Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve on an early morning was just the ticket for deep appreciation. How beautiful and humbling it is when we recognize our Oneness with all. Ponder the amount of life in 10 cubic feet of earth and air in either direction! Witness God’s paintbrush at work in breathtaking glow of a sunrise, the vibrant green algae of a pond, the mysterious flight of a bumblebee, or the sweet symphony of a cheerful bird. We, divine fractals of Prime Source Creator, are walking miracles and interconnected with the whole. Bow your head or fall to your knees in pure gratitude at least once a day. Re-remember to recognize the majesty in the moment. Editor’s Notes: During my walking meditation through Barkhausen I came upon numerous members of the animal kingdom as usual. Many species of birds, as well as reptiles and amphibians, and the insects are plentiful! I nearly stepped on a snake, however he gave me a loud warning beforehand. A fat mosquito left his mark like a bullseye on my forehead within the first minute of my arrival. Visitors to Barkhausen will often spot Eagles and I have in the past — however not during this trip. A portion of the footage in this video I shot myself, while others I relied on stock footage for illustration. Thankfully, I resisted the urge to overproduce this short film and relied on the magnificent beauty of Mother Nature, paired with a gorgeous piano piece, to share the story. Join me for a refreshing swim at the Cenote Azul. The Cenote Azul Bacalar is 200 mt wide and 90 mt deep. ]It’s surrounded by lush green jungle and the swim across and back is about one half mile. Today I went on an adventure to the Blue Cenote with 2 new friends from where I’m staying on the Laguna. We were all blissed out! I liked it so much, I will walk there again tomorrow to enter on the “secret” way in through the jungle. Thank you for coming with me on my journey to Laguna Bacalar, Mexico. I've lived in the magical lands of Bali, Indonesia, off and on for a 5-year period, and this stretch was for 9 months. Welcome to Florida...Hurricane Ian did not deter me. Although my entry was a bit intense, this past week has been amazingly blissful and I am happy to share it with you. I caught the last flight into Tampa airport before it closed for Hurricane Ian, and quickly prepared with friends to weather this Cat-4, nearly Cat-5 hurricane. Gratefully we were all safe and swiftly recovered from the fury left behind. Other Floridians had it far worse...and I've learned first-hand how tough Floridians are by nature. The weather is glorious, the water in the bay feels incredible and I am back out SUP Stand-Up-Paddleboarding again with the gators and manatees. No time was wasted in adapting, as well as launching exciting new projects I'll be sharing with you soon. I moved to Florida with only 2 suitcases and have begun a new chapter in life with enthusiasm and passion. Until I've acquired a working laptop, powerful enough to rock Adobe Premiere, I'll be creating videos on my iPhone again. It's not my favorite mode of storytelling, and I plan to be up-and-running operationally very soon. Stay tuned for amazing new updates, live-streams and videos. 🇮🇹 Island-Hopping Adventures On Italy's Northern Lakes (2017) During my Italian adventures post-Camino, I meandered through Italy without a plan or agenda. This whimsical exploration brought me to the northern lakes, where I grabbed an island-hopping tour, showcasing gorgeous scenery and history. I was transported back to the glitz and glam of 1960's charm on Lake Stresa! My hotel was lakeside and I felt straight out of the scene of a James Bond Movie, circa Sean Connery, as the decor has stayed the same.
