In traditional societies, people move through three fundamental stages, from birth to adulthood. First, you become the property of your parents' household. Then, your individuation begins, which is the second stage. You become the individual you were born to be. You are no longer a child but not yet an adult. The third stage is your initiation into the tribe of your elders. Then, you cease to be your mother's object and you become the property of your people and a warrior for your gods. But the modern world frustrates this final stage. Modernity keeps people trapped as isolated individuals in a state of eternal teendom, uprooted from their nations, and severed from their ancestors. If we want to become human again, as a people, we must revolt against the modern world, and free ourselves from the constraints imposed on us by a global, rule-based order. Societies of equals yield only average individuals. Without adversity, the strong grow dull. Without competition, the weak win more ground than they should. In 1953, Russian director Sergei Yutkevich arrived to Albania, a small country of three million people located in southeastern Europe along the Adriatic Sea. Yutkevich came to direct a feature film about the life of Albania’s national hero, George Skanderbeg. Born Gjergj Kastrioti, the man lived from the year 1405 to 1468. Taken hostage as a child by the Ottoman Turks, they named the boy after their word for Alexander the Great, İskender. Skanderbeg was to be raised as a Muslim and trained by the Turkish army to serve as a mercenary to Sultan Murad the Second. The Sultan recognized Skanderbeg’s strength as a warrior and decided to employ his servant in an elite army of foreign slaves called the Janissaries. Western people condemn the colonization of Africa in the past, but at the same time, the same Western people also support today’s repeated attempt to colonize Russia. Unlike Africa, Russia always had an army. Napoleon’s army failed to capture Moscow and was sent home with heavy losses. Hitler’s army failed to capture Leningrad/Stalingrad and was sent home with heavy losses. Now, it seems, the West is gearing up for a third attempt to colonize Russia for its resource and its geographic power. Why is it so hard for Western people to see they have been, and still are, behaving as the ‘bad guy’? I offer a third alternative to establish global peace: a revival of the idea of a Holy Roman Empire as a bulwark against both the powers of the Atlantic and of the Heartland. Western elites are no longer Christian, not even heathen. They are 'Satanic' in the sense that they no longer believe in a moral order. They believe in creation from Chaos. In 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra', Nietzsche explains that the coming Overman is rather humanity's transition toward the birth of a New God. At that point, humanity shall perish. The belief in a future God that must be born of this universe stems from a long Jewish tradition. It is the tradition of Tikkun olam, the belief that the world is broken, and that people must work to repair 'her', in preparation for the New God's arrival.
