The More Excellent Way (3) : Love and Power
The Spirit of God IS the Spirit of Love, for God is Love. The more we yield to the Spirit of God the more we will walk in Love and possess the Power the Spirit provides. Even human compassion doesn't like seeing people in a bad way – how much more the Love of God! The Holy Spirit provides us with powerful gifts to edify the Church. Without these supernatural gifts, love is full of good intentions, but only so effective. But without Love, the gifts profit us nothing. It is not an either / or proposition. What we ought to have is both Love and Power . .

The More Excellent Way (4) : Purity and Power
The Spirit of God IS the Spirit of Love, and to flow in the Spirit one must learn the way of love. Love is not about you, it is about the benefit or blessing brought to someone else. The Holy Spirit gives these gifts to each of us as He wills for the help of the rest of us. This is the aspect that keeps the working of them pure, undefiled by self promotion and selfish ambition. The Holy Spirit provides us with powerful, supernatural gifts to edify the Church and testify of The Lordship of Jesus . .

The More Excellent Way (5) : Seek to Abound
The Bible gives us godly examples to follow and ungodly examples to be warned from. There are those who operate in the gifts of the Spirit with love and a pure heart, and there are those who sought the gifts and manifestations for the wrong reasons and with wrong motives. God knows all about it, and when judgment day comes He will bring all things to light. In the mean time we want to judge ourselves so that when that day comes, our works pass through the fire for reward - because we did it is love and with a right heart . .

The More Excellent Way (1) : Desire and Love
Today we return to our study from the Word of God on the gifts of the Spirit. We find that as much as proper instruction is necessary to handle gifts responsibly, God also wants us to Desire these precious manifestations of the Spirit. They are as the Spirit wills – but He wills! And He wants us to will in line with Him. He also wants us to want these spiritual gifts for the same purpose He is giving them. That is Love. The Holy Spirit is the great Comforter and Helper, He is the Spirit of Love. Hallelujah! Let us earnestly desire the gifts of the Spirit as we pursue being the help and comfort God wants us to be in the earth for Him . .

Abounding in Hope (12) : SET Your Hope On GRACE
1 Peter 1:13 tells us to set our hope fully upon grace. Yet many people even Christians make the mistake of setting their hopes and expectations on what they think they deserve - in relationships, on the job, in purchasing, in life. The grace of God and what we think we deserve are not the same thing. God doesn't owe us anything we would want to have. Grace on the other hand is all about not getting the Bad we do deserve and being given all the Good we don't deserve . .

Abounding in Hope (11) : Rejoice in Hope
Having the hope of the promises of God inside you is a lot like being with child. Strength is needed – both to carry that child for 9 months, and then to bring that which is inside you... out. You need Strength to see it through – to the end. Until everything God has promised comes to pass. And until everything I see lines up with what God has said, I'm not going to let myself get disappointed or offended by what I do or do not see. I will live by faith and not by sight. I will be strong in The Lord and in the power of His might. I will rejoice in Hope all the way to the end. Hallelujah!

Abounding in Hope (10) : Right Expectations
Hosea 4:6a nasb says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." If we are growing in the knowledge of The Lord we are going to get destroyed less and less. Hallelujah! Because our lives will be in line with God's Blessing and protection. But there are always going to be things you know and things you don't know. What do we do when what we see doesn't line up with what we know from God's Word. Do we get offended, disappointed, do we blame God? Or do we put on humility and trust God no matter what . .

Abounding in Hope (9) : Trusting God's Love
The Bible says, “Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disgraced” (Romans 10:11b). But have you or anyone you know ever been disgraced or ashamed or disappointed because you thought you were trusting God – and nothing happened or things even got worse. The immediate temptation is to throw in the towel. It is a sensitive subject, but overcoming offenses in this area are essential to knowing God. Just because we are going through difficulties and trials does not mean God does not love us or that His Word doesn't work. Trusting His love no matter what is how we overwhelmingly conquer our difficulties and trials . .

Abounding in Hope (8) : Confession of Expectation
In order to receive what God has promised, He requires that we say what He says. Over our life, over our bodies, over our children, over our finances. What is in our hearts will come out of our mouths. If we are not saying it – there is a reason. It is just not a good reason. God, who never lies, has promised and given His solemn oath so that we have no excuse except to believe Him, say what He says and get what He promised! If you don't have what God promised in His Word, check up on what you're saying . .

Abounding in Hope (7) : Hope in God's Word
Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away." That statement should be one of the greatest sources of comfort and strength to us, because our Hope is based on God's Word. Not any thing in earth or even in Heaven. The Word is more certain than anything else. Where men may fail, God does not - He cannot. If God lied, the very fabric of the universe would disintegrate instantly. For by the power of God's Word all things – even our very life of faith – hold together . .

Abounding in Hope (6) : Not Ashamed
There are some Bible subjects that most believers take for granted and others that they ignore entirely. Hope is just such a subject. People think they know all about it and don't need to be taught it, so they really don't know anything about it and aren't using it right - so hope is not working for them as it should. When hope doesn't work right the Bible says we become disappointed and ashamed because what we hope for doesn't happen. God doesn't want us ashamed, He wants to see what He promised fulfilled in our lives . .

Abounding in Hope (5) : Hope Makes Radiant
True Biblical hope will cause us to abound. If our hope is set on somebody or something other than God and what He would do for us – that is a false hope. Which will end in our disappointment and embarrassment. God is not just the most sure and reliable place to put our hope – Jesus IS our Hope. Everything He has done for us, everything He is doing for us now and everything He will do in the future – is our sure and steadfast hope. Glory to God . .

Abounding in Hope (4) : Planned Beforehand
Biblical hope is not just for the expectation of going to Heaven when we die, but is also the expectationof what God is going to do with our lives. The thing about hope is that we can have it Now – but it is itself concerning the Future. And God has a good plan for our lives! Oh yes! But whether or not we fulfill the destiny He has for us is not all up to God. Our participation is required, and we ought to eagerly look forward to walking in the good works God has planned and prepared for us to do. Hallelujah!

Abounding in Hope (3) : IN Christ Jesus
Jesus was sent by the Father to a lost and dying world to give us, in one word - Hope. Outside of Christ Jesus there is no hope - not for this life or the next. I didn't say that, the Bible does. This life was never meant to be lived apart from Jesus because only in union with Him do all things hold together. (Which is why so much of the world is falling apart all around us.) The bigger your revelation of Jesus, the greater your hope in God will be. The smaller your revelation of Jesus, the smaller your expectation of good from God will be . .

Look Up! (13) : Israel and the Second Coming continued. . .
Jesus told us specific signs to look for before His return and they will occur exactly how and when He said. The final event, which is actually the final sign of His Second Coming, is the repentance of Israel and their reception of Jesus as Messiah - whom as a nation they have rejected for nearly 2000 years. At very moment when they are about to be completely wiped out by the armies of the Antichrist, they call on Him to save them and repent of their unbelief. And He does! On, the mercy of God! As Isaiah prophesied, He will wash and rinse away their sin of shedding His Blood . .
What God is going to do with Israel in the End is what He has already made available for us now. Repent and believe the Good News about Jesus! Your sins will be washed away and you will become a new creation in Christ . .

Look Up! (12) : "They Will Look On Him Whom They Pierced"
It was The Father's love for men who had sinned that required Christ die in our place, for the pay for sin is death. Nobody involved in crucifying Jesus will get any credit for doing so, because they did it for their own wrong purposes. Yes, it was the Jews who pierced Him – by the hand of the Romans. Scripture says this. The Romans were the gun, the Jews pulled the trigger. But when Jesus comes again (not dead at all) Israel will have repented of their unbelief, having called on Jesus as Messiah. God is so merciful He will then deliver the nation of Israel and destroy all their enemies . .

Look Up! (10) : Mid-Tribulation Events continued . .
Jesus answered a few specific questions His disciples asked Him concerning the Last Days. His answers should interest anybody interested in Bible prophecy. They are not conjecture or guesswork, but are quite plain and straightforward, of course agreeing with the rest of Scripture. Especially the books of Daniel and Revelation. God put teachers and preachers in the Body of Christ so that the Anointing on them would teach us what we need to know. As you listen, bring your faith and expect God's Spirit to enlighten your heart with His Word . .

Look Up! (9) : Mid-Tribulation Events
Jesus detailed for us signs and events leading up to His Second Coming. The events of the Mid-Tribulation are some of the last sign-posts before Jesus' Return in power and glory at the end of the Great Tribulation. When we put His words together with the prophet Daniel and the book of Revelation, we find the Bible to be so comprehensive and consistent, only God could have inspired it.
That's a big part of why Prophecy is given in the Bible - because only the One True God could dictate the future to us with such accuracy. No hocus-pocus going on here. Just an all knowing God telling us the future in advance so we'd learn to trust Him in even the minutest details of our own life now . .
