Canada Has A Corruption Problem
Donald Best, a former Toronto Police detective, shares with Barry about his experience of being put into jail for contempt of court because three lawyers gave false evidence about him to a court. He also explains the case against Ottawa Police detective Helen Grus who is facing disciplinary action for investigating multiple sudden deaths. Her investigation led her to ask questions about the vaccination status of the mothers. It would appear that such questioning was off limits. You will want to hear what the implications of this case might lead to.

Calling Out The Airlines - Interview With Greg Hill of Free To Fly Canada
Beat the censors, sign-up for our newsletter: https://firstfreedoms.ca/call_to_action_pages/stay_informed/
Free To Fly is an organisation that seeks “To unite people through one of the most cherished freedoms of modern civilization – the freedom to travel great distances safely, quickly, and in comfort.” Greg Hill, a co-founder of Free To Fly is frustrated with the airlines in Canada who recently came out with statements against the government's vaccine travel mandates. Hill points out that it is as if they were against the mandates all along.
"Where were you?" Hill asks the airlines. "Where were you the last year or two?" He understands that the airlines were compelled by government orders but "that interim order didn't demand that these ... companies sit in silence and say nothing.... That was a choice. They could have spoken up and you can theorize why they remained silent. There is money that comes from the government to the various corporations across the country....”
He continues, “But this is the problem: They got us by the pay cheque. They got us by the government handout. We have got to learn to decouple ourselves from these things and start to live as free people. We are at a crossroads as a free society and we need to decide now who we are and how we are going to live or we are going to doom our sunset years and the formative years of out children and grandchildren to a very dark authoritarian state.”

Who Gets To Define Terrorism?
Beat the censors, sign-up for our newsletter: https://firstfreedoms.ca/call_to_action_pages/stay_informed/
In the winter of 2022, the prime minister and deputy prime minister of Canada labelled average citizens supporting a truckers’ convoy as terrorists. Like fire, the term spread amongst Canadians who trust their government. The base concept behind terror is fear. The use of this obvious misnomer did and should have its consequences: lack of confidence in the people who uttered it. Listen to freedom defender Barry Bussey share his views on language and how it affects our freedom of speech and especially the wordterroristin recent times.

What Did The Government Know? And When Did They Know It? - Interview with Dr. Joseph Hickey
What happens if we really "follow the science"? Does the research support or contradict the pandemic measures that our governments have put in place?
Dr. Joseph Hickey of the Ontario Civil Liberties Association explains that the government knew – or should have known – that it was unscientific to implement lockdowns, universal masking, and vaccine mandates, yet went ahead and did it anyway!
In fact, a recently released email reveals that the Quebec government imposed its curfew restrictions despite medical and ethical advice to the contrary. As Dr. Hickey explains, this is true of all the draconian measures taken by the federal and provincial governments during the pandemic.
As we emerge from the pandemic, we need to hold our politicians to account by demanding transparency. The biggest contribution to truth comes from individuals who take responsibility for their lives and personal decisions!
Dr. Hickey's conversation with Dr. Bussey is a reminder of the importance of freedom of expression to allow for scientific research and discovery. As Dr. Hickey says, "in order for individuals to have influence, they need to be able to freely express their views ... including views that are extremely critical of power figures, authority figures, [or] ideologies. So we have to allow a huge diversity of views."

Is Alberta Done With Canada?
What does a separatist movement tell us about the health of our constitution and the damage done by heavy-handed government?
Should we be worried about the state bringing in a universal basic income? And what happens when people lose confidence in the banking structure?
An industrial organizational economist from Alberta, Tanner Hnidey joins Barry W. Bussey to talk about the constitution, coercive power, and moral authority. Tanner is an advocate for the rule of law and objective reality as opposed to subjectivism. As VP Economics of the Alberta Prosperity Project, Tanner points out that when we sacrifice individual rights for societal rights, we end up with neither. We need to live as free people!

Conversion Therapy Law Discussion with Don Hutchinson & Iain Provan & Barry W. Bussey - Freedom Feature
Why is Canada's new Conversion Therapy Bill so problematic? Listen as Barry discusses concerns around Bill C-4 with Dr. Don Hutchinson and Dr. Iain Provan.
Bill C-4, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (conversion therapy), went through the Parliament of Canada in record time. There was unanimous consent in the House and the Senate. Part of the rationale was that the bill had already passed through just before the 2021 election but died on the order paper when the election was called. However, guests Dr. Don Hutchinson and Dr. Iain Provan explain Bill C-4 was very different. It expanded criminality significantly from the previous version. The government's own characterization of the limited nature of the bill is questionable. Further, the lack of opposition due to this fact, and due to the complete disregard of parliamentary procedure are cause for concern of the rule of law in Canada.

Tom Marazzo one of the main organisers involved in the Ottawa Trucker Freedom Convoy. As a retired military officer, he was called in to Ottawa during the Freedom Convoy to help organise all the logistics needed for a sustainment plan to ensure that the protest remained peaceful and ran smoothly. He worked with the leaders of the convoy, lawyers and city leaders to try to take pressure off the city and the police. Their goal was to build a framework of strategy to remove the mandates and go home, peacefully.
Tom shares his first hand accounts of the police brutality done to the non-violent protesters and the misrepresentation of the Convoy by the mainstream media.
He tells us where he was at time of the invocation of the Emergencies Act.
He remains hopeful that the extreme misuse of power by the government will all be revealed in the upcoming Public Inquiry.
Tom describes his encouragement in seeing the true “Canadian Spirit” shine forth during his twenty-two days in Ottawa. He has hope for the future because of the changes that the Freedom Convoy brought about in Canada as well as the inspiration and courage for the entire world.
The Convoy provided a non-violent blueprint to push back against unjust laws.

Interview with Brian Peckford - Freedom Feature with Barry W. Bussey
You are important! That's why we have the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, according to the Hon. Mr Brian Peckford: because every individual is unique, with a special place in this country. It's from that spirit of warmth and respect for every person that Mr. Peckford speaks with such incredible passion, conviction and integrity!
As a former premier of Newfoundland, Mr. Peckford is the last surviving author and signatory of the Charter. Last month, he announced he is suing the government for violating the Charter that he helped craft. Yesterday, he spoke with Barry about current events.
Mr. Peckford reminds us that the Charter begins with the statement, "Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law." Everything else flows from that foundation. We need to restore our respect for the constitutional text as written, along with those basic principles that include the worth and dignity of every Canadian.
Watch, like, and share this interview as widely as you can. Everyone should hear this inspirational and timely conversation!

We Have Failed Our Democracy
Sign-up for our newsletter: https://firstfreedoms.ca/call_to_action_pages/stay_informed/
The Honourable Brian Peckford’s, P.C., second visit on Freedom Feature centres around the importance of maintaining our democracy. Mr. Peckford reminds us that it requires a lot of engagement from the public which has fallen short. If we are to maintain our freedom we must do better.
Our discussion began with the Public Order Emergency Commission; his proposal for a Canadian Magna Carta; his thoughts on Queen Elizabeth II, and his teaser that there will be an announcement soon on a “full scale inquiry” on what happened over the last 2 1/2 years.
Public Order Emergency Commission
The Commission is reviewing the federal government’s invocation of the Emergencies Act. Mr. Peckford says there are a lot of problems with the Commission. Among his concerns are, first, it is the government reviewing itself. It is not an independent body. Second, the terms of reference highly favour the government’s telling of the story against the truckers. It is not allowed to express any conclusion regarding the civil or criminal liability. No discussion of the seizing of the bank accounts.
You may find more on Peckford’s his blog on the POE Commission here: https://peckford42.wordpress.com/.../canadas-emergencies.../
Canadian Magna Carta
Peckford advocates for a “Canadian Magna Carta” that will require: First, an independent inquiry on whether the government’s vaccine mandates and lockdowns were necessary; Second, all political parties must open their books and publish audited financial statements; Third, no MPs, or members of Provincial or Territorial legislatures who broke the law can sit in the chambers; Fourth, private members bill in Parliament must be debated and voted within six months; Fifth, all superior court judges must meet established criteria and be subject to a parliamentary committee hearing and to full parliamentary vote which is final; Sixth, parliamentary committees cannot be shutdown until all business is completed and citizens who have relevant information are given the opportunity to speak; Seventh, all governments must have balanced budgets; Eighth, mandatory Civics course for grades 8-12; Ninth, the power of the office of Prime Minister must be reduced; and the PMO and Privy Council must not have more than 500 employees; Tenth, an annual First Ministers Conference outlining national priorities; Eleventh, the Supremacy of God and Rule of Law clauses of the Charter must be considered in all Charter cases; Twelveth, no international treaty can be signed that erodes Canadian sovereignty; Thirteenth, membership in an international organization must be conditional on Canada remaining a completely sovereign nation.
You may find more on Peckford’s Canadian Magna Carta here: https://peckford42.wordpress.com/.../magna-carta-for.../
Queen Elizabeth II
Mr. Peckford shared candid memories meeting members of the Royal Family and shares his thoughts on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. He also expresses the view on the importance of maintaining the monarchy for Canada.
Special Announcement Coming
Mr. Peckford also informs us that an announcement is coming soon about a “full scale inquiry involving citizens of Canada to determine just what happened in the last two and a half years.”

Lisa Bildy Interview
In today's Freedom Feature, lawyer Lisa Bildy describes her career and what brought her to "the freedom space."
Through her conversation on academia, the law profession, and the pandemic, Lisa shares fascinating and sometimes troubling examples from some of the court cases she's been involved with. Which of her clients have been treated more harshly than others?
Lisa also explains why the progressive values of equity, inclusion, and diversity are actually regressive. Instead of valuing individuals, equity (rather than equality) focuses on group dynamics based on notions of oppression and intersectionality that ultimately seeks to push people down.
As Lisa warns, many things are hanging in the balance right now. At the same time, we can hold onto hope. The world shifts because of a few people on either end of the spectrum. When enough people recognize that there are problems and start speaking up, we can find a better way forward.

This Fight is Not Over - Interview with Tom Marazzo
Beat the censors, sign-up for our newsletter: https://firstfreedoms.ca/call_to_action_pages/stay_informed/
Tom Marazzo has been a constant presence at the Public Order Emergency Commission hearings held in Ottawa since they began on October 13. He gave testimony of his experience in the Trucker Freedom Convoy as the logistics person who helped get food and supplies organised while the Convoy was in Ottawa.
Looking over the current political landscape Marazzo reminds us that we are not through the possibility of more restrictions coming our way. "The opposition to freedom right now still has a vote," Marazzo says, "and they very much want to continue to find a way to fulfill their original agenda. When this all started we thought that the lawyers were going to do their thing and stop this right in its tracks. And they didn't. When the vaccines came out we thought the doctors would step up and they didn't expect for a small few. And it took the truckers to get the attention of the government. What was the result? The government came down with a bazooka."
You will not want to miss this interview as Marazzo gives his opinion of what has been revealed at the Commission hearings and why it is so very important going forward.

Discussion on Bill 36 - Interview with Dr. Taylor Bean and Bob Yeager
Beat the censors, sign-up for our newsletter: https://firstfreedoms.ca/call_to_action_pages/stay_informed/
The Province of British Columbia, Canada is soon to pass a new law that will require healthcare professional boards, to have regulations for their respective healthcare professionals on mandatory vaccine requirements. This new law represents a seismic shift in how healthcare professionals will be treated by their regulators. Health professionals must submit, if required by their boards, to receive medical treatment even if it violates their conscience. Bill-36 Health Professions and Occupations Act is soon to be law.
Barry’s guests are Bob Yeager, who practices employment law in British Columbia (https://yeageremploymentlaw.com/); and, Dr. Taylor Bean, ND who is a naturopathic physician and an advocate for vaccine choice nor coercion. Both lawyer Yeager and Dr. Bean hold the view that the net effect of this legislation will mean that a sizeable number of health professionals will leave BC. If that happens it will have a devastating effect on healthcare in the province.
Health professionals, from other parts of the country, contacted First Freedoms to say they are concerned that this type of legislation may well come to their provinces. We will see. In the meantime, listen in to this conversation about the concerns that our guests have about this new legislation.
