The C3 Corvette goes from a bare frame to wheels on the ground!
No talking, just work. Today I assemble all the restored suspension parts and set the Corvette down on its own wheels again.

Introducing the 1980 Corvette project and rebuilding all its suspension parts - WTF:Performance
This is the REAL first episode of WTF:Performance! I have been wanting to focus on car content for over a decade and this is literally just the start! Introducing my 1980 Chevy Corvette project car. It started out as a parts car I bought for 1300 bucks in Michigan and hauled back to IL. It had a title and a bunch of good parts, but the frame was JUNK! I had been working on disassembly for a few months and had boxes of parts scattered around the garage.
In this episode we start with a bare frame and a pile of crusty suspension parts. Let's get to work!

I built a secret hatch to cover the trap door and disguise it as a bed! - WTF:Construction
We finally got this room done! This was the biggest project room so far and with it complete we now have an actual guest room complete with its own secret hatch. Here is the Birdroom finale episode.

We finally ripped out the mystery box to build a secret hatch and get the bird room 99% done!
What's better, a useless box in a room or a secret trap door? Exactly. So in this episode we finally do something with the ugly bump in the floor. With the box out of the way we were able to finish the flooring, patch up the wall, finish the closet, AND we even through some curtains up to finish the room. Next week we address how we are going to conceal the literal hole in the room.

Building a closet part 4 - Paint, lighting, flooring, doors! - WTF:C - Villarreal Manor
Finally got these closets completely done! I am super stoked with how they came out! Now these rooms feel like real bedrooms! I skipped forward to give you a sneak peek at the finished project because we had to get the flooring done before we could install the closet trim and door. BUT to get the flooring done, we needed to decide what to do with the BIG STUPID BUMP in the floor! and you will see that on the next episode of WTF:Construction!

Building a new closet part 3 - Finishing the Drywall - WTF:C - Villarreal Manor
By far my least favorite part of this project! When you are installing drywall you think, man this is so easy! Then you have to finish the job still! OMG other guys on youtube make this look easy! Its not super hard but there is definitely some finesse to it. The closet did not come out perfect by any means but I will say it looks pretty dang ok to me!

Building a brand new closet! (part 2)
Now that the basic framing is done its time to add some wiring for lights and might as well add a few outlets while we are at it. I've never done drywall work before this but luckily there are a TON of great resources for advice and instruction on it already out there. I recommend "the drywall guys" as they dont actually explain much they are just BEAST professionals that do it all day every day and for some reason it gave me way more success to learn by watching rather than learn by thinking.
Slapping up the drywall is the easy part, the next video will show the hard part, taping, mudding, and sanding. It's also the worst part! lol

Building a brand new closet (part 1) - WTF:Construction - Villarreal Manor
This is the best way to build a closet for these two bedrooms I could come up with. First step is to cut out a doorway in the original wall, then we will build the basic structure in this video!

Pondering closet ideas, more painting, and why we call this the "birdroom" - WTF:Construction
Now that we figured out what the bump in the floor was and ripped out the "closet" we have to get a game plan together. After bouncing a few ideas around I figured lets get the room painted and circle back and see what makes the most sense. Then we heard a bump in the night...

Bump mystery solved and removing this "closet" - WTF:Construction - Villarreal Manor
We start on a new room and finally solve the mystery of what this box thing is and why we are stuck with it. It is truly hilarious that I did not figure it out sooner just from thinking about it but there has been so much going on that I guess my brain was too fried and I was too excited to find something crazy in a mystery box lol

Driving the Burro in the snow on bald tires.
When most people see snow they think, I'll just do that errand tomorrow. When car people see snow we think, perfect time to go get that new extension cord. I took the Burro Dodge Ram on a quick errand after a few inches of snow fall. I tried to take the back roads but with bald tires I legitimately was gonna get stuck on the side of the road lol

From Princess room to Guest bedroom! Total bedroom makeover!
This bedroom was so pink it hurt my eyes just standing in it. A fresh coat of paint on the ceiling and walls along with some fresh flooring bring this room back to life. Just don't bring up the electrical gremlins I had to track down to fix the outlets!

Upgrades and maintenance for the Burro! - WTF:Garage
The Burro dodge ram needed a trailer hitch so she can do some work finally! A little TLC goes a long way on an old beater truck. I also tackled some other small things that had a big impact on the truck.

Amazon smart thermostat installed! - WTF:Construction
I've been getting a little crazy with the smart home stuff bringing our cheap old house into this century while trying to keep it classy. We had the idea to install a more efficient thermostat and it took a bit longer than expected due to some unforeseen issues. Two weeks and one massive furnace repair later our new smart thermostat is working and looking great!

Diagnosing and repairing the "Burro" Dodge Ram 1500 - WTF:Performance Garage
What I thought was a bad fuel pump turned into a nightmare of poking, prodding, and diagnosing for days what ended up being a bad ground in the fuel pump and tail light harness.
1995 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2
Symptoms: engine starts and dies after a second or two, very low to zero fuel pressure, and weird voltage readings at the fuel pump.
Fix: Broken/corroded ground wires repaired near fuel pump.

Customizing an antique typewriter desk and finishing touches for my new office! - WTF:Construction
I found this antique typewriter desk at a furniture thrift store for $50 and fell in love with it! I didn't want to alter it too much but I did get a little nutty and added to it instead. If you are asking why anybody would need 3 monitors, two of them being 55 inch TVs just remember what channel you are watching.
I unfortunately did not film adding the flip out monitor and keyboard because I just got the itch to tinker with the idea one night and before I knew it I was already done. It took a ton of trial, error, and tinkering to make it work as well as it does.

Painting and adding a light to my new office! WTF:Construction - Villarreal Manor
I actually had a pretty sweet setup in the RV for an office. A comfortable chair and dual monitors is all I really need but before I get it all setup in the new office we decided to give the room some much needed TLC! Fresh paint, adding a light, and updating the electrical is a good start.

After moving into the new house I was hurting for a truck to haul stuff around and passing up some awesome projects that I couldn't drag home was driving me CRAZY! I found the perfect work truck, I call this 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 the Burro.

Ripping out some really gross carpeting in our #Cheapoldhouse - WTF:Construction
We could not take the terrible dog smell anymore so this carpeting had to go! Note the several walls that were built directly on top of the carpeting too! #Cheapoldhouseproblems

Our first problem with the cheap old house!
It wouldn't be any fun if it was easy. Well I have never installed a water heater so this was bound to be tons of fun. After noticing a puddle under the old water heater the thoughts of a flooded basement would come to mind every time we left the house so it was time to suck it up and get to work. Might as well update the awful old water lines while I'm at it! #Cheapoldhouses
