One person is dead after a drowning at a Butler County nature preserve. The St. Clair Township Fire Department said its water rescue team was called to Antenen Nature Preserve at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after a person went into the water and never resurfaced.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow will be out for several weeks with a strained calf, head coach Zac Taylor said Friday after training camp practice. A 16-year-old girl is dead after a minivan and a semi truck collided in Warren County on Tuesday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The crash happened at the intersection of SR-73 and Clarksville Road near Wayne Township. Police said 16-year-old Samantha Anders was a passenger in the minivan, driven by a 39-year-old woman. Both are from Dayton, OSHP said. Anders died from her injuries at the scene of the crash, OSHP said. The driver of the minivam was taken to Miami Valley North Hospital with serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation, but officials with OSHP said the preliminary investigation suggests the driver of the minivan ran a stop sign and crashed into the rear wheels of the semi truck. The driver of the semi truck was not hurt in the crash.

Officials announced Wednesday that Covington police officer Ethan Livingood would not be charged after he shot and killed Garren Patty while responding to a report of a suspicious person. Body camera footage shows Patty run toward Livingood, appearing to swing. The officer falls to the ground and at one point yells, "He's got my gun!" Livingood shot Patty multiple times. Patty was taken to UC Medical Center, where he later died.

A man convicted of manslaughter in a 2021 shooting that left a woman dead did not show up for his sentencing hearing on Monday and is currently being sought by U.S. Marshals, according to the Kenton County Commonwealth's Attorney's office. Shane Walters, a Taylor Mill native, pleaded guilty on Feb. 2 to one count of second-degree manslaughter; he was arrested and charged two years prior, in February 2021. This guilty plea was part of a plea deal, where prosecutors recommended a sentence of five years in prison for the manslaughter charge. In 2021, 33-year-old Megan McCray was discovered dead inside Walters' Knollwood Drive home on Feb. 10.

Two people are dead after a murder-suicide in Northside, Cincinnati police said. Officers responded to the 4200 block of Chambers Street around 4:50 p.m. Thursday for the report of two people shot. When they arrived, they discovered the body of 22-year-old Dayshawn Blair and a 19-year-old woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Investigators said she was taken to the hospital where she later died. Police have not released her identity. The Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit and the Hamilton County Coroner's Office said Blair likely shot the 19-year-old woman and then himself.

Ben Dusing, who is appealing a three-year suspension of his law license, is joining forces with Ukrainian Patriot, a Kyiv-based nonprofit that will pay him to manage its relief operations in the war-torn city of Kherson. Governors Andy Beshear and Mike DeWine announced Thursday afternoon the companies that will be at the helm of the Brent Spence Bridge redesign will be Kokosing and The Walsh Group. WEB Ventures, a Cincinnati-based management and consulting firm with a specialty in diversity, equity and inclusion solutions, will also consult on the project, according to Beshear. What specific kind of design the Brent Spence Bridge's planned companion bridge will embody is not yet known. Jack Marchbanks, director of the Ohio Department of Transportation, said seven submissions were received, with the Kokosing/Walsh team winning the bid. "Our goal is to have this contract legally executed in the next 30 days," said Marchbanks.

At least 30 dead dogs and 86 living dogs were discovered and seized at an animal shelter in Madison Township called Helping Hands for Furry Paws, according to the Butler County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office said adult dogs and puppies were being kept in different structures on two different properties in the township.
