We've Suffered a Tremendous Loss
18,470. That's how many days my brother was on this Earth. Today he was reunited with my parents, grandparents, uncle, and other relatives. For over 14 years he's fought cancer with all he had, even having gone into remission for a few years. While I will feel his loss for the rest of my days I find peace in the fact that he is no longer having to battle cancer, that he's out of pain, and reunited with my parents. We love you, Scott. Rest well.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. May almighty God bless us with his peace and strength, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Lord Jesus Christ, as you stood by the bed of good Saint Joseph and gently led him home to heaven, so shepherd every soul about to die to a paradise of perfect peace. Let the tears we shed upon their passing stand witness to our love for them and the depth of our thanksgiving for the gift of their lives and the grace of a good death. For you are Lord, forever and ever. Amen.
In this moment of sorrow
the Lord is in our midst and comforts us with his word:
Blessed are the sorrowful; they shall be consoled.
Prayer of commendation for those near death.
In the name of the Father, + and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
I commend you, my dear brother, to Almighty God,
and entrust you to our Creator.
May you return to him who formed you from the dust of the earth.
May holy Mary, the angels, and all the saints
come to meet you as you go forth from this life.
May Christ who was crucified for you bring you freedom and peace.
May Christ who died for you admit you into his garden of paradise.
May Christ, the true Shepherd, acknowledge you as one of his flock.
May he forgive all your sins, and set you among those he has chosen.
Amen.
Saints of God come to his aid!
Hasten to meet him angels of the Lord.
With God there is mercy and fullness of redemption;
let us pray as Jesus taught us:
Our Father
Who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On Earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever.
23rd Psalm
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteous-ness For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Can You Tether A PlayStation Portal To a Cell Phone to Play?
Much like how every company seemed to be going after the Nintendo Wii in that generation of hardware, this generation it seems like everybody is trying to capture the lightning in a bottle that the Nintendo Switch has done. For years people have been expecting a follow-up to the PlayStation Vita from Sony, and in the summer of 2023, they announced a new handheld. Well not really. What they released was a streaming device compatible with the PlayStation 5 called the PlayStation Portal. As such I wondered if You Can Tether A PlayStation Portal To a Cell Phone to Play?
To finish my testing for the review of the PlayStation Portal, I took it with me one day to the office and connected it via my cellular hotspot. I have Verizon for my service and their 5G ultra-wideband service is available at the office. I found that I could connect to my phone without any major issues. I fired up Ratchet and Clank a Rift Apart for this test, and while there were a few times I got the warning that my network connectivity was slow it never disconnected during gameplay.
My overall experience was pretty positive, with only one brief moment of network connectivity warning before it cleared up. I was able to play through and around Ratchet and Clank without any issues, and it looked and played great. As a remote player, the PS Portal seemed to perform much better than I had feared based on what I had heard from friends with their experiences. This was something I thought was very important to know before you buy a PS Portal, so I am hoping this helped address some concerns in the community. When it comes to handheld gaming, Sony is hoping this will be widely adopted by PS5 owners, and as someone who has a PlayStation 5 since launch, I'm not sure how much I will use it.

FREED FROM JAPAN! Eliminate Down for Genesis & Mega Drive
There have been some amazing games stuck in Japan, and Retro-bit has been crucial in bringing these titles to the masses around the world. One such game had been stuck in Japan and North Korea since it's original release, even though it had garnered much positive praise from magazines and game players alike. But now thanks to Retro-bit, Eliminate Down has been freed from Japan and North Korea and is coming to the Sega Genesis and the Sega Mega Drive.
Pre-Order Eliminate Down from Rondo Products at https://collabs.shop/x9yg0l
Whenever there is a discussion of which games are the rarest to find on any console, Eliminate Down will probably be on that list, and with good reason. In the middle of the gaming boom of the early '90s, competition amongst arcade shoot 'em ups was heating up with notable entries by Masaya Games, Konami, Capcom, Toaplan, Renovation, SEGA, and many more. Being a small studio trying to release your own game through a publisher known for golf games was quite a gamble in 1994, but Aprinet and Soft Vision pushed through. However, overshadowed by other big hitters, Eliminate Down would end up relatively dormant outside of hardcore collectors. At the turn of the 2010s, a resurgence began with "hunts" for rare games becoming a hobby, pushing the game up to the top of the most expensive original releases to own. But behind the high price tag is a game filled with great graphics, energetic music, intense boss fights, and difficult enough for you to get heated but want more!
A strange lifeform born from the distortions of outer space begins to consume and take over entire worlds as it continues to expand. It seeks a new target, one that is teeming with life...Earth. The united forces of Earth were unable to stop it and confrontations would result in heavy defeats against these life forms that have evolved into destructive creatures. All of humanity’s hopes are entrusted to a newly developed space fighter that has been named the “Steel Pylon”. You must fly into the unknown carrying humanity’s final hope for a future!
Collector's Cart Key Features:
● First time officially released outside of Japan & South Korea
● Emerald Nebula Cartridge for SEGA Genesis®/Mega Drive
● Full-colored instruction manual including an unreleased code to make gameplay easier
● Individually numbered lenticular cartridge slipcover
● Reversible inlay box art featuring original and new covers

What Are These Awesome Japanese Import Games and Controller?!
I absolutely love importing games and accessories for the Nintendo Famicom. One of the reasons is that games are so much less expensive for the Famicom compared to the NES a lot of times. For that reason, I have imported games such as Duck Tales 2, Mighty Final Fight, and now I just got one of my most desired titles. Let's take a look at What These Awesome Japanese Import Games and Controller are!
I generally try not to order from eBay, however, I did find this title on eBay at a terrific price. What is it? It is one of the most in-demand games for the NES which normally sells for over $300 loose, but the Famicom version was available shipped for under $80. I'm talking about Bucky O'Hare.
From Wikipedia:
A Bucky O'Hare game was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, which required Bucky to rescue each of his crew members on a series of planets. As each character was rescued, the player gained the ability to switch between them and Bucky on the fly to deal with different problems. Immediately after regaining his entire crew, they are once again captured and imprisoned on the Toad mother ship. Bucky and Blinky, sharing the same cell, break out and must rescue the remaining members. Afterwards, they continue through the monstrous ship.
The other thing I received was a gift from our good friend Thor. He knew I had recently picked up the Ascii Stick Turbo Jr, basically an NES Advantage for the Famicom. Well, he had seen the Joystick-7 Mark II for the Famicom and thought it would be great for me to have in my collection. The Original was released by Hori in July 1985, and an upgraded model, the Joystick-7 Mark II, was released in March 1986. The Joystick Mk-II features a turbo function with a speed rate of up to 26.8 inputs per second!
These are great additions to our collection and I cannot wait to spend time with each of them. I had never heard of this Joystick-7, had you? Share your experiences in the thoughts in the comments!

#BlackFriday2023 Video Game Deals Were Pathetic | Xbox | PS5 |Switch
#BlackFriday2023 in the USA signifies a reversal of giving thanks from just 24 hours earlier, instead of partaking in capitalistic ventures out in the wild. In years past, some stores had been opening on Thanksgiving night, but in 2023 it seemed like most stores around here closed for the holiday. That meant that most of the deals were more of the doorbuster style, but inventory levels weren't an issue. We flipped through the ads on Thanksgiving and were pretty unimpressed. In the end I only picked up 4 gaming items the entire week of Thanksgiving, let's take a look as the Black Friday 2023 Video Game Deals were pretty pathetic.
Xbox:
3 Month Game Pass Subscription
Normally $44.99
Sale Price: $29.99
For the last 3 years, I had stocked up on Game Pass memberships, able to get them for $20 to $25 for a 3-month subscription. The best deal I found this year was through CDKeys.com for $29.99 for a 3-month subscription. Unlike in previous years, I only got one as I haven't played my Xbox much lately.
PlayStation 5
MLB The Show 23
Normally: $59.99
Sale Price: $20
I went back and forth on this one as I've been playing a 2nd season on MLB The Show 22 and considered skipping '23 and just getting '24 at launch, but for $20 I couldn't pass it by. What I have played previously I did like some of the tweaks, including bat contact audio tweaks. It sounds much better than '22.
Nintendo Switch
Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe
Normally: $59.99
Sale Price: $24.99
I really love this game on the Wii and wanted to play it on the Switch too, but I didn't want to pay $60 for it. Gamestop had it on sale for $30, and they had a promo that if you ordered online and picked up in-store you'd save another $5. $25 for this is well worth it!
Nintendo Switch
Sonic Superstars
Normally: $59.99
Sale Price: $29.99
I've heard a lot of great things about this game, but again I didn't want to drop $60 on it. Target had it on sale for $34.99 and I had a $5 off coupon to bring it down to just $30. For that price, LET'S GO!
What did you score this Black Friday? Share your finds in the comments!

Play NES, SNES, & Genesis Games | Hyperkin Retron 3 AV Review
In this episode, we unbox and test out the Hyperkin Retron 3 AV, designed to allow you to play original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Super Famicom, Genesis, and Mega Drive cartridges.
There are a core group of retro video game enthusiasts that absolutely love the '80s and '90s era of video games. From the systems, the games themselves, and even how you play them. Many consider me to be a heretic as I do not like playing on CRTs, but for some that is a key component to the overall gameplay experience. For years, Hyperkin has released a number of different systems to allow you to play your old cartridges on new hardware, and they sent us one of their recently revamped Retron 3 AV to check out.
The system is equipped with three different cartridge ports that are directly compatible with five different system's cartridges. There's an NES port, a Genesis or Mega Drive cartridge port, and a Super Nintendo or Super Famicom port. Of note is the fact that, while there is a region selection switch on the back of the unit, it is only for the Genesis side of the system and only switches between NTSC-J and NTSC-U. There is no NTSC to PAL switch.
The face of the unit features six total controller ports, two each for the NES, Genesis, and Super Nintendo. They all felt decent & did not grab the controller plugs too tightly. Hyperkin included two controllers with the system, a Super Nintendo-themed Scout controller and a six-button Sega Genesis-inspired SN6 controller. They used to call that controller the Squire, I wonder if they lost the trademark. There is no NES controller included, however, they did include an NES to Super NES controller adapter.
The cartridge slots were very tight, and it seemed like it was very difficult to get the cartridges to insert straight into the system. Also, the manual had incorrect information in it, indicating that the NES cartridge port was in the front when it is in fact in the back. The back of the system features a stereo RCA jack composite video output, a micro USB port for power, and that Sega Genesis region selection switch. I really wish with all the other updates they made to the system that they would have changed to USB-C.
Upon firing the system up, the first thing we did was test out on a CRT with Duck Hunt. Using light guns on clone systems can be hit-and-miss, but I had high hopes for this one. From the word go, I was able to play Duck Hunt without any issues, as the experience was extremely authentic. HDMI-equipped clone systems cannot do this on a flat panel TV due to how they work, so this is definitely a reason for someone to consider picking something like this up.
Up next was my Super Mario Bros coin test. I did utilize a 60-to-72-pin adapter to test my Famicom version of the game. The colors looked a little bit off initially, and as soon as I started playing I could hear that the audio is off as well. I found this highly bizarre as the Hyperkin Retron 3 HD has very good audio authenticity out of the RCA jacks, but this seemed like a step backward.
Next up, it was time to do the compatibility test for Battletoads. Frequently this is a title that locks up on level 2 on clone systems, and unfortunately, it did so here as well. My understanding is the PAL version of this game has been patched to address this issue, but US and Japanese versions do not run on clones.
I continued testing and for the most part, the results were as I expected. Virtua Racing did not work, but the Power Base Converter FM Mini did and allowed me to play Master System games through it. I did run into an issue where my PAL version of Yoshi's Island did not work, but my PAL version of Axlelay worked.
Why it RoX:
- Compatible with light gun games
- Sale price at under $50
- Two color options available
- 2 controllers included
What could be improved:
- No PAL region selection
- Included controllers don't feel as good as their standard controllers
- NES-to-SNES dongle instead of just including another controller
- Micro USB for power
- Reverse duty cycle issues on audio
- Not compatible with Virtua Racing
- Regularly priced around $72
Should you buy one?
The Retron 3 AV is an interesting system, one that I am not the target audience for. At $72, for me, it prices it a little bit too close to the Retron 3 HD which actually performs better via composite video. If not on sale, the Retron 3 HD is the better-performing system. If you can get one at the $45 sale price, then you have my attention. If playing on CRTs and being able to play like on games are important, warts and all this might be worth looking at since it would be less expensive than buying the system separately. But at full price, it needs further refinement.

What Happens When You Put An Evercade Cartridge In A Super Pocket Handheld?
The Evercade platform allows you to purchase games on the cheap, typically under 20 bucks, and there are generally multiple games on one cartridge. This allows people to go ahead and collect games from the past that may be cost-prohibitive now on their original platforms and enjoy them in beautiful high definition. In July 2023, HyperMegatech, a company I had never heard of previously, announced a new handheld in the vein of a Game Boy, which promises to play the library of Evercade cartridges. In addition, two special editions and color variants are coming, a Taito edition and a Capcom Edition. Let's take a closer look.

Play Atari 2600 & 7800 Games in HD with Atari 2600+
When it comes to how I got into video gaming, after playing in the arcades I cut my gaming teeth on the Atari 2600. Playing games like Night Driver, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Adventure were part of my formative years. While I played a lot of Atari 2600 Games, I've never had the love for that system that others have. Well, Atari is hoping to reach out to the masses again with the 2600, but expand it to include the 7800, a system I never played. Atari Is Updating the Atari 2600 for Modern Gamers, and this is the Atari 2600+ coming in November 2023.
From Atari:
Enjoy your favorite Atari 2600 and 7800 games on one system! Not only does the Atari 2600+ pull double cartridge duty, it also features HDMI and widescreen mode for easy connectivity to modern TVs.
Jump right in with the included CX40+ Joystick and a 10-in-1 game cartridge that features some of Atari’s most famous games like Adventure®, Missile Command®, and Yars' Revenge®.
Features
The Atari 2600+ is an updated version of the iconic Atari 2600 and has been enhanced in the following ways:
- Plays both Atari 2600 and 7800 game cartridges
- HDMI output makes it easy to connect
- Widescreen mode
- Enlarged cartridge socket reduces sticking
- Atari logo lights up when being played
Ready to Play
Comes with a 10-in-1 cartridge so you can dive into your favorite titles right away.
2 Systems in 1
Plays both Atari 2600 and 7800 game cartridges.
HDMI-Ready
Easily connects via HDMI so you can enjoy every last pixel.
I have pre-ordered one for myself, and at $130 It was a pretty easy decision to make. I will be curious to see how this compares to the Hyperkin Retro77, a system that greatly disappointed me. Much like that system, the Atari 2600+ uses emulation technology to play game cartridges. The 2600+ is powered by a Rockchip 3128 SOC, which means the odds are that it will dump the ROM before playing.
What do you think of the Atari 2600+? Is this something you would be interested in? Let us know in the comments!

Is THIS A PLAYSTATION PORTAL KILLER?!?! Gamesir G8 Galileo
The Sony PlayStation Portal was just recently released, and at $200 it has left some wondering if it's worth the money. There have been a number of other devices that allows you to play not only your PS5 games remotely, but also your Xbox games! One such device is the new Gamesir G8 Galileo, which is compatible with Android phones, and it promises a great experience at a fraction of the cost.
At around $80, it's less than half the cost of the Portal. the USB C connector will work with most popular Android phones. A clever adjustable width format also works with phones of a variety of sizes, whether you have something smaller or phablet-sized like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra like I use.
One of the really exciting features has to be the hall effect sensor joystick design. This promises to eliminate stick drift and provide exceptional control. From what I can tell the Portal doesn't even use hall effect sensors, so this is a big improvement over that
Have you ever used a device similar to this? It's this something you've ever been interested in? Have you used remote play on the PlayStation or Xbox? So you think this could be a PlayStation Portal Killer?

What is This Weird Retro Fighters Nintendo NES Controller?!?
Over The years I have seen a lot of really cool accessories be introduced for retro gaming. New retro clone systems, video upscalers which improve the overall quality of your imagery, but one of the most fun features added to the community has to be the variety of different controllers. Retro Fighters have created some of the best controllers over the years, but it all started for them with the original Jab Pad for the NES. I missed out on it originally back in the day, but thankfully they decided to re-release one final batch of these and they sent me one.
The Retro Fighters “JAB Gamepad” is the first NES compatible controller to be completely redesigned with next generation features and attributes. With the look, weight and feel of a modern controller, playing all of your favorite original NES games is an experience like no other.
A better D-pad, repositioned B-A buttons, plus triggers and a turbo button. Take control of your gaming on your terms.
The JAB gamepad was designed to work with the original NES. It also supports most aftermarket retro consoles. If emulators are your thing, then the USB connection has you covered.
Did you ever manage to have one of these back in the day? did you pick up one of the re-releases? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Avoid THIS Nintendo Switch & Switch OLED Controller | Funlabs Firefly
In this episode, we review the Firefly Mario Wonder controller design for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch OLED.
These days, there's no shortage of prostyle controllers for the Nintendo Switch Nintendo Switch OLED. Designed to give players a much better experience when playing in TV mode than the Joy-Cons or Joy-Con grips, I'm always interested to see other companies takes on these sorts of controllers. Funlab recently reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in checking out their new Firefly controller, and I'm always a sucker for pretty lights so I accepted their offer. Let's take a look.
Out of the box, the Firefly offers little new underneath the hood. The shape of the controller is extremely similar to the Xbox One controller. One of the key characteristics that it carries over from that controller is the god-awful D-Pad design. A circular disc was installed over the top of a pressure-fitted mounting plate, I was not a fan of this design. Thankfully, they include a more traditional D-Pad that you can install in place of the stock unit. More on that in a bit.
One of the really cool things about the Firefly is the pseudo-hidden graphics underneath the white shell. There are a series of LED lights in the controller itself, and as you cycle through them you can see the different designs on the face. They have many versions of the Firefly controller, this one featuring graphics inspired by Super Mario Bros. You can cycle through the lights so that they are on solid in one of several different colors, A breathing mode where the LED colors fade in and out, and a rather annoying flashing mode. I do not recommend the flashing at all.
There are a few other features on the Firefly that have been introduced in other controllers as well. A rapid or turbo fire functionality is here, back buttons are here, and adjustable rumble. It did not wake the system from sleep and was not compatible with Amiibo.
The instructions are very lacking overall. There's no description of how to remove the stock D-Pad and install the optional one. I eventually had to use a set of tweezers to get underneath the disc and pry it up. I did not take note of which direction the disc came off in, and there's an index underneath the D-Pad to get everything lined up. Something, anything in the manual would have been better than the nothing that we got.
Pairing was effortless and straightforward, and I was able to do so within a few seconds on my Switch OLED. While I liked the overall look and feel of the Firefly, very similar to a wrestler who has great promos and no skills in the ring, eventually the bell has to ring. The analog stick, which is not a Hall effect sensor, functions decently, but the D-Pad, the D-Pad is the worst that I've ever tested.
While playing Street Fighter, I could pull off all the moves with the analog stick, which was actually pretty impressive. The D-Pad, however, often missed moves, registered double presses or otherwise failed to respond accurately. I thought this could have been due to swapping out the D-Pad face for the optional one, so I Switch back to the standard D-Pad. There was no difference whatsoever between the performance of either of these, something truly frustrating while I played. The analog stick and turbo all seemed to work okay enough, but the D-Pad was unusable. Like it wasn't just bad, I literally could not use it.
Why it RoX:
- Number of different graphical design options available
- Exceptional battery life
- Three different LED display modes
- USB-C for charging
What could be improved:
- D-Pad is absolutely unusable
- Instructions fail to demonstrate how to install the optional D-Pad
- No hall effect sensors
- Does not wake system from sleep
- Not compatible with Amiibo
- Flashing LEDs are just annoying
Should you buy one?
No. In a word no. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a prostyle controller for the Nintendo Switch. Funlab needs to go back to the lab to further refine its D-Pad functionality because it breaks the rest of the controller. The analog stick was okay enough, and the buttons were decent too. But if D-Pad performance is all-important to you this is a hard pass. The instructions also need to be improved to let you know how to swap out the D-Pad. For the money and features, there are simply better options out there for you to consider now.

What Is This Craziness?!?! Playing Duck Hunt on 6 TVs At Once!
One of the greatest video games of all time has to be the original Duck Hunt for the NES. This game was so much fun, it was also a bit infuriating with that damn dog. One of the things about duck hunt, however, is you can only play it on CRT tube TVs. while playing on one CRT TV can be fun, what about playing on six at the same time? well, that's exactly what we set up to test out. what, exactly, would happen if you had one NES and one zapper hooked up to six different TVs? would all the TVs work? It was time, and with the game loaded up and ready to play it was time to shoot ducks in a barrel.
From the get-go, everything felt terrific. I was able to pick off the first duck without an issue. The second duck, the fourth, and the 8th, eventually shooting all 10 ducks. The ridiculously funny thing was the fact that we were able to shoot any of the screens and have the system register the shot. It didn't matter large or small, off color or not, every single screen worked. The funny thing about this too is we were actually utilizing an RF connection, this wasn't even using the AV cables! But it worked, it was fantastic, it was silly, but we loved it.
What do you think about Duck Hunt? Do you like it, do you not like it, do you just wish you could shoot the damn dog? Let me know your feelings in the comments, and make sure you subscribe as we will be doing a full-blown unboxing and review of the Retron 3 HD in the coming days.

Holy Speed, Batman! First 3D Print Results on Creality K1
In addition to being involved in the gaming realm, over the last two years, I've really gotten involved in 3D printing. I started off a few months after we moved into our new house, and the sky has been the limit since. One of my first printers was the Creality Ender 3 Max, and I've owned four other reality printers since. Thanks to Saint Smart, I now have an opportunity to check out one of Creality's latest and fastest printers in the K1. Let's take a closer look as Our 3D Printer Farm is Expanding!
The K1 differs from the traditional Ender series of printers in many different ways. The Ender 3 is referred to as a bedslinger, meaning not only does the printhead move up and down and left and right, but the print bed itself also moves forward and backward. On the K1, the print bed is fixed forward and back, side to side. It will move up and down to adjust the layer height but the printhead itself is what moves throughout its range of motion. This allows for greater acceleration, greater top speeds, faster printing, and overall better quality results.
The K1 is designed to the same bed size as the Ender 3 V2, which is a 220mm by 220mm bed and you can print 250 mm tall. Whereas the Ender 3 V2 can print at 50 to 60 mm per second, the K1 can print it speeds up to 600 mm a second, or 10 times faster. If you don't need the speed, you can slow it down and get much better print results as well! The K1 can use most 3D printer filaments, from PLA, PETG, ABS, and even TPU.
For the last 6 months, I have been using Bambu Labs P1P and P1S printers, so I am really interested to see Creality's take on this Core X/Y platform. Make sure you hit that subscribe button as we will be doing a live unboxing and setup video here on the channel.

Creality K1 Super-Fast 3D Printer Unboxing and Initial Setup
In this live stream, we unbox, upgrade, and set up the Creality K1 high-speed 3D printer, designed to compete with the Bambu Labs P1P, P1S, and X1.
Order the Creality K1 from Sain Smart on Amazon by visiting https://amzn.to/3SKQYZG (affiliate link)
I have absolutely loved being involved in 3D printing for the last 2 years. I have created so many fun designs that are practical and profitable. I recently was contacted by the team at Saint Smart through Amazon and provided a Creality K1 to unbox and evaluate. Having used other core XY printers from Bambu Labs I'm super looking forward to setting this up.
One of the things that really sets the K1 apart from previous Creality printers is the fully enclosed design, along with the high-speed performance. Whereas the Ender 3 V2 prints at 50 to 60mm per second, the K1 can print its speeds almost five times as fast. It also handles exotic materials better such as flexible TPU, and stronger PETG, along with PLA and PLA+.
In addition to the printer itself, we're also going to walk through installing the optional print camera. Sain Smart also sent along a high-speed nozzle and high-speed PLA too. I'm really curious to see how quickly I can get this set up and printing.
Unlike my other printers, I cannot use Cura or Bambu Studio for the time being. I have to use Creality Print which I already have set up on my computer.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how this performs and how quickly I can get it set up. My Bambu Labs printers were able to get set up in about 20 minutes each, so I'm hoping for something very similar from Creality's offering.
Can We Beat The 1st Level of Duck Hunt with Only 1 Shot Per Duck?
One of the greatest video games of all time has to be the original Duck Hunt for the NES. This game was so much fun, it was also a bit infuriating with that damn dog. One of the things about duck hunt, however, is you can only play it on CRT tube TVs. As such, we wanted to check and see if it would work on the newly released Retron 3 AV. We hooked it up to several different televisions and gave it a shot, pun intended.
From the get-go, the Retron 3 AV felt very responsive. The colors were slightly off, but I attribute that more to the televisions than the system. We used a Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt/World Class Track Meet cartridge for our testing purposes. We also used an original, gray Nintendo Zapper with the Retron 3 AV. With the game loaded up and ready to play it was time to shoot ducks in a barrel.
From the get-go, everything felt terrific. I was able to pick off the first duck without an issue. The second duck, the fourth, and the 8th, eventually shooting all 10 ducks with just a single shot each, giving us a clean sweep of the first level using only one shot per duck. This is exactly the sort of responsiveness I was hoping for, the Retron 3 AV functioned perfectly with this light gun game.
What do you think about Duck Hunt? Do you like it, do you not like it, do you just wish you could shoot the damn dog? Let me know your feelings in the comments, and make sure you subscribe as we will be doing a full-blown unboxing and review of the Retron 3 HD in the coming days.

GameStop Drops The Ball: PlayStation Portal MIA
In this episode, we talk about the absolute debacle that is the current status of PlayStation Portal pre-order stock missing from GameStop stores.
I have to admit, I've probably gone easier on GameStop than a lot of other people on YouTube have. There's a reason for that, until the last year my local GameStop store was actually pretty good. I've told the story in the past of how my local store actually called me the day before PlayStation 5 pre-orders opened up to make sure I was in the store the next day so that I got a system. The former store manager Mitch was amazing to deal with. His staff knew what was going on. Well, in the last year, things have gotten progressively worse to the point of absolute incompetence.
I've told the story on the channel about how I have a PlayStation Portal pre-ordered, and it was something that I did per the request of fans of the channel. It wasn't something I was super interested in myself, but people wanted to hear my take on it. At $200 I was willing to do that as I figured the content would pay for itself. I've had very good luck with the store and Bloomington, Illinois as of late, however, when I called them all of their pre-order slots were filled. I called the store in Champaign, Illinois and they actually still had one available for pre-order.
Let me rephrase that, I tried calling the store in Champaign but the new employee did not feel like he needed to answer the phone. I know this because I saw him making snide remarks several times the day I went to place my pre-order, frustrated that people would dare have the audacity to call. When I placed my pre-order, I asked him if he could look up my GameStop account, and he thought I meant my Pro Membership. I wanted him to look up my GameStop credit card number as I've had them do many times in the past when I have forgotten to bring it with me. He informed me that he couldn't do it, that wasn't something they could do at a store level, and that if I needed one he could give me the number to customer service to request a replacement card. Great customer service this was not.
I begrudgingly placed my pre-order and waited for the release date. Upon that date, November 15, 2023, I headed to the store in the early evening after work. I had no idea whether or not a system would actually be there for me or not as I had not gotten a call to remind me that pre-orders would be available for pickup the next day. Typically, this store called when pre-order items were going to be available to remind people. I didn't get that call. When I stopped in the store, yet another brand new employee was there, alone, and said he did not have any PlayStation Portals, they hadn't arrived, and while he had a shipment in the back that he could go through he didn't plan on doing it. They had no idea when the systems would arrive.
As I left the store, I actually gave the store in Bloomington a call to see if they had gotten their pre-orders. I talked to a rather pleasant woman who took the time to talk to me, and informed me that they did not get their pre-order either, and to the best of her knowledge, none of the GameStop stores have received them. She indicated something similar happened with the Sony DualSense edge controllers. As I said, she was wonderful to talk to, had her stuff together, and helped to answer my questions.
The next day I called both corporate and the store again. Corporate was completely clueless and referred me to the regional sales manager, or at least said they would escalate my request to the local regional sales manager. They could not get me that person's contact information to follow up. When I called the store again in the morning, they indicated that the systems had still not arrived, they had no ETA but that they should be there by Black Friday.
The whole idea of a pre-order is to make sure that you get an item on the day that it launches. Sometimes you get extra stuff in the box with it, but by and large, you pre-order to ensure you have one on launch day. GameStop is completely screwing the pooch on this one, and I'm amazed that they've dropped the ball so badly. This is the last thing I will be preordering from them in a long time, and if I go in there and they ask me why I want to pre-order something I will make sure to point out this issue.
Have you run into the situation? Have you gotten a pre-ordered PlayStation portal from GameStop? Share your experiences in the comments.

New Favorite Accessory For The Nintendo Switch & Switch OLED
I've talked in the past about how I store all of my games down in my studio, but I tend to play my Nintendo Switch and my living room on the main floor. I'm old, fat, and lazy so I don't like having to run up and down stairs to swap out cartridges. I also don't like having a bunch of cases lying around in my living room. Unitech has offered a really unique eight-in-one game storage solution for the switch for some time, and now they've upgraded it. Is this my new favorite accessory for the Nintendo Switch & Switch OLED in 2023? Probably.
The way this works is pretty simple and elegant in its execution. The adapter itself holds eight games total, for which can be played and for which are simply stored in the unit. It has a ribbon cable that connects to the cartridge slot, and then you apply power via a USB-C cable. From here, you can cycle through your four games in the main area and play any of them at any time. This new version has a distinct advantage over the original, however.
The original version had a push button that you tap to change what game you are playing. I did not mind it, but many people in my original review did not like the fact that you actually had to get up to change something. Unitech has addressed this with a new remote control version, which is what you see here. Simply toggle through what game you want on the remote, and you never have to get off the couch.
I love the original version which you can check out our review of here:

I'm looking forward to testing out this version and doing our full-blown review. Is this something you would be interested in? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Play the NES in 4K? We Can Now With the RetroTink 4K
We have been huge fans of the RetroTink line of upscalers since the original RetroTink 2X, having owned every single version Mike Chi has ever released. Just a few days ago he put out information regarding one of my most anticipated releases of 2023, that being the RetroTink 4K. That's right, we will be able to upscale our retro consoles all the way up past 1440p to 4K. Let's take a look at the RetroTink 4K which looks to become The Ultimate Retro Upscaler and is Coming in Late 2023
From Mike himself:
What Inputs are Supported?
We've designed the RT4K to accept virtually all retro video sources to best serve everyone's unique requirements. On the back, we have a component, HD-15 (VGA), and HDMI inputs plus a TOSLINK receiver for optical audio.
The SCART port lives on the side, and the front has an S-video and composite jack hidden behind a sliding door.
We've also tried hard to make the RT4K accept signals from non-mainstream console sources such as PCs and arcade boards. There are currently settings for standard consumer video (240p/288, 480i/576i, 480p/576p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p) as well as retro PCs (EGA/DOS 70 Hz, VGA, SVGA, XGA, UXGA). Custom profiles with the correct sampling and cropping can be quickly set up for sources that do not yet have built-in definitions using the menu.
The HDMI inputs can accept virtually any custom resolution and frame rate within the maximum bandwidth of the receiver. This means that the RT4K will fully support off-spec sources, such as MiSTer DirectVideo.
What Does it Output?
The primary output of the RT4K is, of course, 4K60 (3840 x 2160, 60 Hz). Other standard built-in modes include 1080p, 1440p and 480p. If you need a custom resolution, drop a modeline text file on to the SD card and they'll automatically appear in the menu!
The RT4K HDMI 2.0 transmitter also supports high frame rate outputs (with some input side limitations) for advanced users.
The RT4K inputs are super flexible. Both the HD-15 and SCART inputs can accept any analog format (with the exception of RGBHV for SCART), opening up options for streamlining your switching setup.
How Does it Scale?
In short? Whatever you want. The RT4K scaling engine lets you scale/crop your source precisely to your individual specifications. Aspect ratio correction and filtering mode (sharp pixel, bilinear, etc.) are adjustable. Or use a free-scaling mode to just define the exact pixel numbers you need.
At 4K resolution, you can perform perfect integer scaling for many common resolutions with perfectly sharp pixels, if you prefer that versus a CRT look. Even non-integer scales look great with bilinear sharp filtering that maintains a crisp look.
And yes, you can get optimal sampling at perfect 4:3 aspect ratios at the same time! The RT4K can automatically perform the necessary PAR transforms for you as well.
Don't worry if this sounds like too much work, by default, most sources will automatically be centered and cropped correctly. The RT4K also has modes to automatically expand/shrink the image while keeping the correct proportions to make adjustments quick and easy.
Other Common Questions
Does it work with MiSTer/Analogue - Yes! The MiSTer direct video mode works great with the RT4K. Analogue consoles may require a little more adjustment, but we expect pre-made profiles to appear in no time.
Rotation -- theoretically possible, but not planned for release.
Smoothing -- same as above.
Movies -- the goal of the TINK products has always been games and games first, but expect to see developments for options to enhance video playback and the movie experience.
Control/Integration -- the RT4K has facilities for control via the HD-15 as well as USB ports. We are planning on some sort of command interface, to be developed post launch.
Does it take TTL sync -- yes on the HD15. SCART port is protected against TTL damage, but would recommend caution as always.
Power -- USB-C 5V 2A.
Is it 4:4:4 -- The RT4K is exclusively RGB444 with an internal deep color processing pipeline and can output deep color HDMI to compatible displays. Sources that are not natively RGB444 (such as composite video) are converted to RGB444 at the front-end.
Is the TINK-5X dead -- we still plan on supporting the TINK-5X and will continue to share development across the two platforms as much as possible. Keep in mind though, that we are still very much a 1-person team :)
What do you think about the RetroTInk 4K? Let me know in the comments!

Our 3D Printer Farm is Expanding with the Creality K1!

Video Games Monthly November 2023 Unboxing
In this episode, we unbox games from Video Games Monthly for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo Wii, and even the Nintendo Wii U.
What are you to do if you like collecting retro video games but you don't have swap meets in your area, rummage sales are a bust, and there are no decent retro gaming stores? Well, one solution is to subscribe to video games monthly, a monthly delivery service that delivers three to 10 retro video games to your doorstep. Best of all, this is not a rental service, you get to keep the games. You can get games dating back to the Atari 2600, the Intellivision, and the NES forward to systems such as the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. We currently subscribe to the lowest tier of service, $34.99 per month to receive three games. Let's take a look at what we got for the month of November, 2023.
Nintendo Entertainment System:
Ghostbusters II
Nintendo Gamecube
Namco Museum
Nintendo Wii
Hot Wheels Track Attack
Nintendo Wii
Pinball Hall of Fame
Nintendo Wii U
Lego Marvel Super Heroes
Total Value:
$43
Initial thoughts:
Kind of a bummer that I did get a duplicate in Ghostbusters 2, but this just underscores the fact that I have a really large NES collection that I simply cannot completely manage through the video games monthly catalog any longer. I know I can send them a note to update my list, and I will have to do that. That being said, Ghostbusters 2 was the most valuable game in this box at $15. Why not as good as the highly desirable Japanese Famicom game, this is still a big improvement over the original.
I absolutely love the Namco Museum game for the GameCube, I played so many of these games in the arcade that having them on one compilation disc is definitely awesome. I love the fact that I also have my GameCube connected to my RetroTink 5X through component video cables, so my picture quality is amazing. While not the most valuable game in this box, definitely the one that I am happiest with.
The two Wii games are an interesting mix. I have no interest whatsoever in video pinball games, so for me that pinball game is a total bust. It's just not something I will ever play and something I will look to flip down the road. The Hot Wheels game is interesting as I've never played any, but I definitely had Hot Wheels tracks when I was a kid. If this is something where I can make and race my own tracks that could be quite a bit of fun.
The Lego Marvel Super Heroes game for the Wii U could be the sleeper in this collection for me. If you've played one Lego game you've pretty much played them all, and that's not a bad thing. They all are silly fun, combine destroying your environment with rebuilding it, and generally are a good time waster. I don't know that I will invest a whole lot into this, but it should be a fun game.
What do you think of the games that we received this month? Have you ever tried to subscription services such as Video Games Monthly? Share your thoughts in the comments

Play NES, GENESIS, & SNES Games With NEW HARDWARE on the RetroN 3 AV
What do you do if you have the itch to play your classic NES, SNES, Super Famicom, or Genesis games but you don't have one of those systems to play on? You can go out and purchase one of each of those, but who knows if it's in good shape or even functions. For years Hyperkin has offered budget-friendly clone video game systems that allow you to play the past into the future, and we just received their latest clone console, the Retron 3 AV. Let's take a quick look at this as we prep for our full review.
Key Features:
High compatibility with NES®, Super NES®/Super Famicom™ and Genesis®/Mega Drive™ cartridges
* Includes:
• 1 x "Scout" premium classic-style controller for Super NES®
• 1 x "GN6" premium classic-style controller for Genesis®
• 1 x Controller adapter for Scout to NES® (port)
• 1 x AV cable
• 1 x Micro cable
• 2 NES Controller Ports
• 2 SNES Controller Ports
• 2 Genesis Controller Ports
Available in 2 different colors, a red and this Hyperbeach Edition baby blue, the system features 3 different cartridge slots on the top. One for the Super Nintendo (which should also work with the Super Famicom Cartridges), 1 for the Sega Genesis (again should also work with Mega Drive Games) and 1 for NES Cartridges. The system includes 2 controllers, their Scout SNES-style controller and the GN6 Genesis controller. Having used these in the past with other systems I find these to be very capable controllers and nice additions. I would have liked to also have a Cadet controller included for NES games, but I also know that would have increased the pricing.
Normal pricing for this is $72.99, however, I did see it on Amazon on sale for only $44.89! You can hardly buy one of the original systems at that price, let alone all 3! You can get one for yourself at https://amzn.to/474ExMG
We plan on testing a lot of games on this system. Famicom game adapters, the Famicom Disk System, Zapper Games, Super FX chip Games, Virtua Racing, and more. Let us know what you'd like to see!

New Tetris Themed Nintendo Switch Accessories From Hyperkin
Hyperkin recently announced a partnership with the Tetris Company to release officially licensed Tetris accessories. This included cases for the Nintendo Switch, along with some new controllers. We just received one of these today, and it's designed to look like the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the Super Famicom controller with some unique custom styling. Let's take a closer look at these New Tetris Themed Nintendo Switch Accessories From Hyperkin
The design is very similar to the Scout controller for the Super Nintendo, but it has some key design element changes. Instead of the smooth, rounded corners of the scout, this has more squared-off edges. Looking at the face, it makes you think that you are looking at Tetris blocks being dropped into place. Speaking of which, the face of the controller also has Tetris blocks on it! The cool thing is the fact that there are three different designs that Hyperkin is releasing in this series, and this is just one of those three.
The Pixel Art Controller is a limited-edition, Bluetooth gaming controller, featuring a wide range of compatibility, three stylish and collectible Tetris designs, and is officially licensed by The Tetris Company.
The controller feels comfortable in the hand, even with the square edges. Make sure you hit that subscribe button as we will be doing a full unboxing and review very shortly, putting it through its paces. we're excited to see how well it plays, as it features both analog sticks and a traditional d-pad. This should make it ideal for use on the Nintendo Switch.
Compatible With:
• NINTENDO SWITCH®
• NINTENDO SWITCH® OLED MODEL
• WINDOWS 10/11® PC
• MAC®
• ANDROID®
• IOS®
• STEAM®
• RASPBERRY PI®
• AMAZON GAMES™/AMAZON LUNA™
• TESLA®
