AvP2 - Something is wrong with Batman
A short clip of me bug-testing a new Batman character model I'm working on. The wrong animations are playing everywhere. I figured out how to fix it fortunately.
I will eventually release a download for it here: http://kingskins.avpunknown.com
Sorry for the low quality. I originally did not intend to upload this because it was in beta-stage, but then changed my mind due to it being funny. So I scavenged this low res clip to upload.

Tron Disc for Aliens vs Predator 2
This small mod replaces the predator's disc with the Tron 2.0 video game's identity disc of Jet Bradley. The predator's red disc trail is changed to blue, as well as the disc sound effects are swapped to match those in the Tron 2.0 video game. The last small change is on the predator's hud, where the predator disc will now show the identity disc in its place. Tron 2.0's identity disc mechanics seem to be built off of AvP2's predator disc. I had the idea to swap the model for years and finally figured out how to do it. I hope you enjoy derezzing npcs and other players. The Tron Disc is a fun model swap to play around with. Fight for the users!

Under The Hunters Moon - AvP2 Custom Map Campaign (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 singleplayer custom map titled "Under the Hunter's Moon".
Map author: Phil 'Windebieste' Wlodarczyk.
Map review:
Under the Hunter's Moon (UHM) is a massive campaign loosely based on the 2004 Aliens vs Predator film. In UHM, the player controls a predator and is accompanied by two predator npcs who can be issued basic commands of holding position or following the player. The beginning of the campaign starts off at the snowy, whaling station. Here the player will face a few human npcs. Once the player enters the tunnel, the player will encounter the underground pyramid. Upon entry, the rest of the campaign will occur in the pyramid among its various rooms and chambers.
The best part of the map has to be the pyramid itself. While the entire campaign is textured to look very much like the movie, the pyramid contains many moving parts and traps. Many of the traps have an Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider feel to them. However, some traps can be a bit too harsh, such as solid floors that suddenly break dropping the player into a pit of spikes. There are also many traps that are triggered via pressing the wrong switch or walking in the wrong path. Some traps will trigger environmental hazards, while others will spawn aliens to attack the player. The enemies in the temple are nearly all aliens, minus a few human npcs that are carrying plasmacasters. Like in the AvP movie, the predators are attempting to retrieve their weapons and continue their hunt. So the player will face similar mission objectives in UHM.
Even though UHM is a campaign, it is also a mod in that it brings some new weaponry and models. The coolest addition in my opinion is the shuriken replacing the smart disc. In fact, my AvP movie electrovision skins (the green aliens in the vision mode) are included in this campaign too and they look great with the redone vision mode. However, much of the predator's weaponry is missing from the whole campaign. This may be a design choice to limiting the weaponry to the predator weapons as seen in the AvP film.
While I love a lot of this campaign, I have some major gripes with it as well. UHM is by FAR the most difficult campaign/map (minus the first level) ever made for AvP2. I appreciate difficult maps, but the challenge here is excessively difficult at times to the point at which it becomes totally unfair to the player. My playthrough took a little over two and a half hours. I probably cut about 15 minutes of wandering around trying to figure out what to do. Many times in the campaign there is no indication or hint as to where to go. Some walls that must be broken, look like normal dirt and one wouldn't know that these walls have to be destroyed to pass if not randomly attacking everything.
Although my biggest frustration lies in the alien npc ai. The aliens are VERY headbite-happy in UHM. They will even headbite while pouncing in mid-air. This can actually be quite a fun challenge, but the player's weaponry is limited. To deal with multiple instant-killing aliens the player should use long range weaponry such as the plasmacaster. However, the energy sift (tool for replacing energy to use said plasmacaster) is omitted from the campaign. Thus, ammo is extremely scarce and the player is forced to use a lot of melee. Predator melee is a LOT weaker against insta-kill, headbiting aliens. Predator healing is also omitted. So the player must quick save often hoping to have enough health to finish the map. After each map the players health and ammo is restored to maximum. The only way the player can heal is finding the rare secret pool to take a dip in. I found only one in my playthrough.
There are parts in the campaign where aliens will infinitely spawn. Even if the player kills a dozen aliens in a row, they keep spawning until eventually overwhelming the player. The parts that have infinite spawns are sometimes traps, whereas other times they aren't and are forcing the player to run to safety. If the player encounters the queen, this type of event will occur, except the aliens that spawn are 100% invincible. This is an intended trap (it is subtlety mentioned in the readme file) but I forgot and quick-saved after triggering the trap. Thus, I was entirely screwed. I realized there was a way around the trap by leading the invincible aliens into lava, but they never died and just kept screaming while stuck.
I should also mention that early in the campaign the ally predator npcs would collapse to the ground after getting injured/attacked by aliens. Later on towards the end of the campaign, one of the same predators would instantly die every time he was attacked. This was extremely frustrating, bordering on 007 protecting Natalya frustration.
UHM as a whole is pretty great. It has great presentation and a lot of content. I really think it needed some balancing with the ai, or at least a boost of the player's weaponry. If one can look past the frustrating moments, there is a lot to enjoy here.

Stargate Crusade Mod Beta - Goa'uld Base 4 - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 single player custom map titled "Goa'uld Base 4" from Stargate Crusade Mod Beta.
Mod authors: Sasa and Sker.
Map author: Unknown.
Map review:
This is a rare gem as far as AvP2 mods go. Sasa released two versions of his Stargate mod. One of them is sgc_beta.rar and the other is stargate_mod_beta_0.1.rar. The former has this single player map titled "Goa'uld Base 4". The latter doesn't have this map, but has several Stargate maps for multiplayer. Furthermore, both versions of the mod are different but similar. Each version of the mod is beta with loads of bugs. When I tried to get this map to work by running the sgc_beta.rar version of the mod, the game would crash anytime I loaded the map. I took apart the rez file and realized that it was the FX.txt attributes file that was causing the game to crash. If I removed the FX.txt file, the map would load, but the enemies would be glitched and couldn't attack.
I then tried running this map in the stargate_mod_beta_0.1.rar version of the mod and my game crashed. I then tried taking the FX.txt file from the rez file of stargate_mod_beta_0.1.rar and placed it in the rez file of sgc_beta.rar and the map loaded fine with enemies attacking. It's confusing as to why this is all broken, but it got the map working.
Anyways, on to the map itself. This is obviously a Stargate themed map for a Stargate mod. All the map textures are Stargate themed, as are the redesigned weapons and enemies. Some of the enemies have the great helmets as well. The map isn't that complex and is rather unfinished with no proper ending and a thank you/credits wall. It looks good thematically regardless.
The goal is for the player to reach the end of the map at the ladder, but there are several enemy guards preventing the player from doing so. The player can easily die from most of the enemy weaponry, especially the staff which is a one hit kill. Once the player acquires the staff, the playing field is leveled against the enemies. The real downside to enjoying this map is that for whatever reason, all the new weapons appear invisible in first person view for the player. The animations appear with the hands, but not the weapons themselves. The melee punches are fun to do, but lack an impact sound as well.
Despite the bugs, this mod and map showed a lot of promise. It's unfortunate there wasn't more development with this mod. Check out both versions of the mod if you can.

Valley of Death Skirmish - Predator - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 singleplayer custom map titled "Valley of Death Skirmish" - predator version.
Map author: DoomGuy
Download:
https://www.moddb.com/games/aliens-vs-predator-2/addons/valley-of-death-skirmish
Map review:
Valley of Death is a custom map that takes the original first level of the marine campaign (m1e1) and reworks it to be a singleplayer skirmish map. This is the predator version of the map and it's very hard to beat. Although, it's a bit easier to beat than the marine version of the map. The map starts with the player spawning in a safe garage area to gear up for the onslaught. As soon as the player opens the garage door, there are non-stop chasing aliens that will continuously respawn. The strategy for the player is to keep moving while shooting off the aliens. However, the aliens slowly chip away at the player's health. Therefore, the player must constantly be hitting the ammo boxes, which serve as a health replenishment as well.
Unlike the marine version of the map, where fully automatic guns and the flamethrower excel, the predator's arsenal differs a bit. The spear is useful in fending off multiple aliens, as are the plasmacaster and pred pistol. Although those two weapons run out of energy fairly quick with so many npc enemies on this map. The speargun and netgun don't help much here. The last major weapon at the player's disposal are the bombs which have a high risk in using as it's easy for the player to blow themselves up. Like the marine version of the map, there are several traps the player can trigger to destroy the aliens such as the explosive barrels on the bridge and the blown up truck on the hill.
The player can beat this skirmish map by eliminating the three queens that spawn on the map and then reaching the exit. The real trick of this map is to get the aliens and specifically the queen into the traps. I preferred using the bridge with the explosives. This trap deals massive damage and eliminates all the aliens rather quickly.
This playthrough was my first time playing this map with the predator. I died a few times primarily due to either blowing myself up or one of the aliens blowing me up by attacking the explosive barrels while chasing me. Overall, the difficulty here is significantly lower than the marine version of the map due to the predator's ability to run and jump away significantly faster. However, anytime I made a wrong turn and got cornered by aliens, it was game over. This is a nice change of pace for a skirmish map and it's super fun blowing the bridge up over and over. I would highly recommend this map to players who are looking for a challenge.

Hostile Appetite - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 singleplayer custom map titled "Hostile Appetite".
Map author: Phil 'Windebieste' Wlodarczyk with the help of Hevoc, Herr Alien and Chris Beaver.
Story:
"The clumsy unchecked stumblings of Humans across the cosmos have given them the false confidence that every World they touch is simply theirs for the taking. Once before they have visited Acheron with fatal results and now their aggressive hunger for interstellar conquest has lead them back to this World. Coupling their opportunistic nature to take what is not rightfully theirs to claim with a severe lack of caution, this time they have returned under a corporate driven manifest destiny.
Unfortunately for them, such a hostile appetite for colonial expansion can only end in confrontation with the ultimate disaster:
YOU."
Map review:
Here is a very unique map in which the player takes control of an alien on Hadley's Hope. What makes this map special is its mission objective to find and destroy all 158 human npcs on the map. At the bottom right of the player's hud is a "chomp-o-meter" displaying the remaining human npcs on the map. As the player takes them out, the meter will fall in number until it hits zero and the player wins. As an alien, the player starts off as a facehugger and must facehug one of three human npcs at the start of the map. The left and middle npcs will have the player spawn as a drone and the right npc will have the player spawn as a runner. However, the middle npc will enable hints (this is the easy mode) and prevent the player from unlocking the secret ending (more on this later). In my playthrough I chose the left npc.
The player will not fight alone though, as several other alien npcs will join the player in the fight. The ai of these aliens ranges from dumb to extremely aggressive. For the most part they will just follow the player around and stand in the way of the player's path; mainly at doorways and exits. However, the moment they lock onto a Weyland-Yutani staff member, they make a direct beeline to attack them. It is best to stay out of their way when they attack as they can often kill the player by accident. This happened to me numerous times in my playthrough. It should be mentioned that the level design itself its pretty good and representative of what one would expect from a Hadley Hope complex, although its not 1:1 like it is in the movie. This isn't necessarily a bad thing though.
Once the player gets to around twenty npcs remaining, this map stops becoming fun and becomes a chore unfortunately. From my experience, it becomes EXTREMELY tedious and difficult to find the hard to reach and good-hiding npcs. The hints would probably make this a lot easier, but I wanted to unlock the secret ending. Although once I found the remaining ways to get access to the final npcs, the map became fun again. The xenomorph transforms again towards the end of the map into a praetorian which is a nice addition. This of course was fun until I had one npc left and had to re-search the whole map several times. I probably cut about thirty minutes of randomly searching for npcs from the video towards the end of the alien run.
If the player picked one of the facehugger victims without the hints, managed to destroy all 158 npcs AND kept all their alien escort npcs alive (make sure to quick-save often just in case) the player will unlock the secret ending called "sole survivor mode". In this mode, the player will spawn as a Weyland-Yutani officer hard at work in his room oblivious to all the xenomorph commotion going on outside. He is armed only with a knife, and must find his way out the Hadley Hope complex with no help at all. What is interesting with this mode is that it begins exactly when the alien part ends; meaning any items destroyed by the aliens will remain destroyed in this mode. This mode is a more straight forward style of AvP2 map, but it is difficult in that weapon selection is very limited. Many of the drone alien npcs have beefed up health and are very trigger happy with head biting mid-pounce. At the end a queen will spawn and it gets pretty ridiculous but tons of fun.
This is definitely a LONG map. It will take over an hour to complete, so make sure to save often. While it is a bit tedious towards the end of the alien part, the overall map is great and worth the grind. It is highly recommended.

Frosty Aliens Predators - POD 1 + 2 - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 singleplayer custom map titled "Frosty Aliens Predators", containing the secret levels called "POD 1" and "POD 2".
Map author: HHO.
Story:
"The Mission"
"Frosty has been sent in to Investigate. Frosty's mission is to find a way in and out of this Weyland supply ghost ship? Battle through Aliens and Humans and Lots of nasty ol preds. Is it an experiment gone wrong? Can Frosty make it?"
Map review:
As previously reviewed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKIWrzxDkrU , Frosty Aliens Predators (aka FAP, lol) is a massive marine-based singleplayer map reworked from an older multiplayer map. This video highlights the most recent version and probably final release of the map at the time of this upload. For reference it is called FAPSE_UPDATE2017.
This video is somewhat of a redo of my previous playthrough as I had salvaged a quick-save right before I finished the map. Turns out that the author, HHO, has hidden two "expansion levels" in the latest FAPSE map. These maps are POD 1 and POD 2. These maps warranted their own separate review anyway. They can be activated by destroying an egg right before the escape area (near where the player spawns). When the egg is destroyed, POD 1 can be accessed by a newly revealed hacking terminal. Once POD 1 is cleared, a hacking terminal opens up for POD 2 right next to it.
POD 1 is a hedge maze-style map similar to Maze1 (see previous review) with a different look and layout. The player must navigate the maze while being attacked by various enemies. Like in the Maze1 map, POD 1 has the zombie marine and health-regenerating synthetic that will chase the player until the end of the map. It's very challenging and hilarious to watch at times. If the player beats POD 1, he/she is rewarded with POD 2.
POD 2 is another maze-style map, but with an alien hive theme. This map has some traps to kill or slow down the player while fighting off aliens. If the player reaches the end of POD 2, they are teleported inside a cage with Jones. Predators are on top of the cage, while a wall slowly moves to crush Jones and the player. The predators need to be taken out, then the player is teleported again to a predator arena where the player faces off against numerous predators. Once the predators are defeated the player then returns back to the normal FAPSE map. POD 2 is a lot easier than POD 1, but the predators can be quite fast in chasing down the player. Their arena fight is a bit tough but fun nevertheless.
These "expansion levels' are quite fun to play through. I especially enjoyed POD 1. The only problem with these maps is finding them as they are hidden quite well inside the FAPSE map. I should also mention that Jones can be saved before the wall crushes him (I didn't save him) and the predators fight can be played with an exosuit, but I didn't access it earlier in the map. Make sure you check these secret levels out when you play FAPSE. I highly recommend them.

Frosty Aliens Predators - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 singleplayer custom map titled "Frosty Aliens Predators".
Map review:
Frosty Aliens Predators (aka FAP, lol) is a massive marine-based singleplayer map reworked from an older multiplayer map. The author, HHO, released several versions of the map, each with improvements. I actually showcased an early beta release here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctTb5iTEzr4 which was excessively difficult at times.
There are three main versions/editions of the map, each with their own small variations. The first is the original FAP, then there was the special edition version (FAP_SE) and then there is version FAPSE_UPDATE2017 which I played in this video. The 2017 version is the most up to date version of this map at the time of this video and it is probably the final release.
In the map, the player controls Frosty and must infiltrate a large space ship complex loaded with corporates, aliens and predators. Nearly all enemy types appear in the map, even the strikers (mosquito-looking npcs). The initial main mission objective is to stop the corporates from placing bombs to blow up the hive. As the player progresses, he/she must locate the torch and hacking panel. To finish the map quickly, all the player has to do is hack a computer panel to activate the escape ship for launch.
However, what makes this map special is as the player progresses, the map slowly turns more and more treacherous with an ever-increasing hive goo, alarms and ship-shaking galore. It gets VERY intense if the player continues the map beyond the minimum effort required.
The reason for the player to stay extra long on the map is that various new enemies appear as bonus challenges for the player. These are extra predators, a queen, etc. There are various cutscenes in the map indicating that the player has the option to go back and face them if the player chooses to. The player is rewarded with collectible prizes (large in-game actions figures, yes really) for doing so. I know for a fact I found the marine prize, but I'm not sure on the others.
The only real problem with the map is that it can be very confusing at times in where to go or what to do. I had played this map previously and still got lost at one point. This map is great for those who love to explore though and it's very challenging. The ai can be pretty intense and sometimes slightly unfair. The aliens are very headbite-happy and at times the player will have two or more predators spawn at point blank range in front of them.
Personally, I love the challenge. I especially like that this map offers a lot of predator enemies, whereas most maps only have one or two max. I would say for me, the highlight of the map is fighting the predators on the catwalks and in the cramped vents. Moments like this are very adrenaline pumping. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this map.

Valley of Death Skirmish - Marine - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 singleplayer custom map titled "Valley of Death Skirmish" - marine version.
Map author: DoomGuy
Download:
https://www.moddb.com/games/aliens-vs-predator-2/addons/valley-of-death-skirmish
Map review:
Valley of Death is a custom map that takes the original first level of the marine campaign (m1e1) and reworks it to be a singleplayer skirmish map. This is the marine version of the map and it's very hard to beat. Actually, this would be one of the most difficult maps, if not the most difficult map to beat due to the constant aggressive aliens chasing the player. Therefore, the player must constantly be hitting the health and armor pickups to stay alive.
Attacking the aliens in this map is difficult with most of the guns because the player can't afford to miss much. Fully automatic guns and the flamethrower are the go to guns to keep the alien pressure off the player here. In addition to the guns, there is an exosuit and several traps the player can trigger to destroy the aliens. While the exosuit is great in that it allows the player to move twice as fast to evade the aliens, ammo is limited. Also if the exosuit energy is expended too much, the player will come to a stall and be destroyed.
It should also be mentioned that this skirmish map is unique in that it can actually be beaten. There are three queens that spawn on the map. After all three queens or eliminated the player can finish the map by reaching the exit. The real trick of this map is to get the aliens and specifically the queen into the traps. I preferred using the bridge with the explosives. This trap deals massive damage and eliminates all the aliens rather quickly.
This playthrough was my first time playing this map. I died quite a bit because I didn't know where the power ups were located. Once I became accustomed to the map, things got easier. However, anytime I made a wrong turn and got cornered by aliens, it was game over. This is a nice change of pace for a skirmish map and it's super fun blowing the bridge up over and over. I would highly recommend this map to players who are looking for a challenge.

Outpost29SE_SP_Predator - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 single player custom map titled "Outpost29SE_SP_Predator" aka "Outpost 29 Special Edition - Special Edition - Single Player - Predator".
Map author: HHO.
Map review:
"Outpost29SE_SP_Predator" which I will refer to as Outpost29SE for short here, is a remake of the multiplayer map "DM_outpost29SE". To give some backstory to Outpost29SE's development, it started when I was putting together "Happy Hunting Map Pack." I was testing various multiplayer maps in single player mode and I found that the map DM_outpost29SE worked ok, but needed a few things fixed like spawn points for a fully working single player experience. So I contacted HHO, the author of the map, and asked him to make small adjustments to the map for a single player version.
Instead of making the small adjustments, HHO completely revamped the map and made both a marine and predator version for it. My playthrough is of the predator version. The map layout is basically the same, but HHO made the map take place at night, changed the enemy spawns, added mission objectives and added new props all over the map. The mission objectives can be slightly confusing, but here they are. The goal for the player is to get into the APC, activate the turrets at the camp, return to the camp, enter the hive, defeat the queen, return to the APC, return to the camp and then evacuate in the helicopter.
However, the player doesn't have to evacuate and could continue fighting enemy npcs as this map can be played as a skirmish map. My favorite thing about this map is the evacuation on the helicopter ride. The aliens are ruthless when the player tries to escape. Sometimes they will joyride on the helicopter and even leave without the player. Furthermore, in the predator version of the map the predator npcs are allies to the player. They can be moved around if the player uses the netgun. If the player has enough nets (cheat code may be needed) the player can position the predators on the helicopter for the evacuation. I tried multiple times to evacuate all the predators, but they usually died or killed me in the crossfire. In my playthrough I managed to save one predator successfully.
I highly recommend this map. Go play it.

Maze1 - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 singleplayer custom map titled "Maze1".
Map author: HHO.
Map review:
"Maze1" is the first of a few maze maps included with HHO's Frosty Aliens Predators - Special Edition (aka FAP_SE). In this map player spawns as a marine and is placed into a maze with the entrance closed off (perhaps by a predator?). The goal, like most mazes, is to reach the exit. The maze is really a hedge maze with various arrow signs posted around the hedges. These arrows actually point the correct path the player should take, so it is not hard to get lost. The real challenge here are the enemies. There are a few corporates and facehuggers which are easy pickings. There is one drone alien that can instantly kill the player if spawned. The predators can sometimes get the jump on the player at times too.
However, there are two infinitely regenerating npcs that can't be killed. One is a beat up-looking marine and the other is a synthetic with a rocket launcher. These two are nightmares to beat. Once they are "killed" they will fall to the floor and slowly get back up to chase the player as if nothing happened. The marine will normally chase the player through most of the hedge maze once he is free from his cell. For whatever reason, he lightly followed me and wasn't much of a problem in my playthrough. The synthetic was another story though, as he was ruthless. To finish the map, the player must use the blowtorch on a keypad and exit the big cell doors that he entered. This part is a little bit confusing but that's the ending.
It should be noted that there is a second version of this map called "Maze1Keep". It is basically the same exact map with minor props, like crates and boxes moved around and a few different facehugger spawns. Since it is really the same map I will not record it as it's 99% identical.
Maze1 is a bit of challenge and is worth a look at it if the player is looking for more difficult ai to face. There is enjoyment to be had here.

Survival (Predator Campaign) - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 singleplayer custom map titled "Survival" predator campaign.
Map author: Claudiusz "ARCHITECT" Dudek.
Map review:
Survival is actually one big mod consisting of three singleplayer campaigns for the alien, marine and predator. In this video I play the predator campaign which has three long maps. The campaign can be completed in just under an hour for a first time play.
The predator campaign is pretty good and perhaps the most polished campaign in the entire "Survival" mod in that it is the least buggy despite being a beta. The only real bug I noticed is that the vision modes don't display correctly. Fortunately, the maps are still playable without them. Speaking of the maps, there are only three maps, but each map is quite long. Unfortunately there is no predator vs humans gameplay in the campaign as it is strictly predator vs aliens. I prefer predator vs humans personally, but as far as predator vs aliens maps go, this is one of the best.
As the predator, the player must enter deep into a hive to hunt aliens with his two npc predator teammates. The cutscenes for the predators are quite good as they use a lot of rarely used animations and help shape the story of the hunt. Along the way the predator will unlock new weapons as rewards and eventually attempt to take down multiple queens in an egg filled lair. Overall, the predator campaign in Survival is pretty good.

AvP2 and Primal Hunt - Vision Mode Fix
Update: For a 100x better fix follow my dgVoodoo 2 tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BauF...
Vision Mode Fix:
Download Mod: http://kingskins.avpunknown.com
Installation walkthrough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohG_y...
Mod Description:
Ever since I bought a new computer with Windows 8 and a Nvidia card, AvP2 runs a little bit glitched out. The alien night vision mode and predator nav vision modes would turn completely black, darkening the entire screen whenever I activated them. I needed somewhat of a fix to counter this problem so I made a very small mod that alters vision mode attributes so that these vision modes won't invert colors. There appears to be a problem with some newer video cards and inverting colors in AvP2. This mod is a patch for users who experience the same issues as me. However, this patch is a mod and it will not let you join multiplayer with it. This mod doesn't alter gameplay in any way, but servers that aren't running it (no server will anyways) will not let you join due to different resources. So use this mod for singleplayer purposes only. If you choose to join multiplayer, disable this mod and try to avoid activating the vision modes that glitch out turning your screen black.
Note that this mod will not remove the black screen when going under certain pools of water. I have not found a true solution to this. If I do, I will make a version two of this mod.
VISIONFIX.rez Changes:
A) Vision Modes:
1) Removed invert colors from the alien's night vision mode.
2) Removed invert colors from the predator's nav vision mode.
Note:
This Vision Mode Fix will also work 100% with Aliens vs. Predator 2 - Primal Hunt.

Snoball Pred 2 - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 singleplayer custom map titled "Snoball Pred 2".
Map author: Sno Ball
Map review:
Snoball Pred 2 is the sequel/continuation to Snoball Pred 1. Once again the player takes the role as a predator with the goal being to get to the end of the map. The sequel is far more difficult than the original map mainly due to trying to get the main doors open. I probably replayed this map about five times only to realize that two of the hacked panels open up another panel that has a tiny switch that needs to be activated. These switches are very easy to miss so make sure you activate them if you decide to play the map. The map difficulty is also ramped up due to the many synthetics armed with sniper rifles. The synths can instantly take down the predator.
As for level design, the map consists of mostly long corridors with a few large open rooms. It's nothing fancy but pretty straight forward as it works. As previously stated, the player will encounter synths, but also some aliens, poc guards, turrets and an exosuit. To complete the map, the player must regroup with the other predators. Snoball Pred 2 was initially very frustrating with getting the doors open, but once you know what to do it can fun as it's a bit more challenging than other predator maps.

DM_BW_Catheradral - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 single player custom map titled "DM_BW_Catheradral".
Map author: {BW} Hudson.
Notes by {BW} Hudson:
"BW Cathedral is located in the outermost post of the Ocomidus Nebula. The
planet was discovered by the Weyland Yutani Deep Survey Expedition 12 years
ago. It was found to have an abundance of resources and was immediately
submitted for terraforming. The planet is one year from coming on-line and
is proving to be even more profitable than was previously thought. A recent
geosurvey team was assigned to the northern continent Primadies and
discovered many underground anomalies. The survey team has not been heard
from since their last report which indicated the anomalies were underground
structures. A combat synthetic team was sent to investigate and encountered
xeno-morphic resistance. Due to the financial investment of the WY
Corporation this infection must be cleared. Abandoning this planet is not
an option. Your job is to find the matriarch and remove her as soon as
possible. Nuclear ordinance is not authorized on this planet.
BW Cathedral is my first attempt at using AI in one of my maps. It is also
my first attempt at a Co-op map. It is a large level and I suggest no more
than 4 players with good systems. 2 players on the same side is a lot of
fun. It is a dark map so use all your lighting resources and have fun."
Map review:
BW Cathedral (I think the author misspelled the name of this map) was originally a multiplayer map that I republished as a single player map in Happy Hunting Map Pack as I realized it worked pretty good in single player. The map is basically one big alien infested cathedral, in which the player starts at the bottom and must make it to the roof top. It's not that hard of a map to beat, but the npcs tend to respawn rather fast in certain areas. The trick is to push ahead quickly after defeating the npcs before they can respawn.
It should also be noted that there are both predator and human ammo boxes scattered throughout the map. Therefore, the player can morph to a predator character using a cheat to play the map in its entirety as a predator. Overall this is a neat map. The only negative I can give it is that it is very silent with no ambient noise or music. However, if the player just focuses on pressing forward through the enemies there is fun to be had here.

DM_BW_Nets Mayhem - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 single player custom map titled "DM_BW_NetsMayhem" aka "DM BW Nets Mayhem".
Map author: [B.W.] NeTRiDeR.
Map review:
Nets Mayhem is the first of three Mayhem maps by [B.W.] NeTRiDeR. This map was originally a multiplayer map that I republished as a single player map as it played fine in single player. However, this map was always buggy in both modes. The map is one giant room with a base of sorts and a big alien hive. Immediately upon loading the map, the map lags due to all the alien npcs that are already spawned. As the player begins to defeat some aliens, the lag greatly reduces.
There are a few problems with this map aside from the lag and it has most to do with the repetitious nature of the map. The player will get ammo at the command center/tower/base, shoot down some aliens, return to the base and repeat. This happens over and over. It doesn't help that most of the map is pitch black and dead silent as well. If the player rushes in too deep into the hive, they will be overwhelmed by the aliens. Thus, I took the safe approach by shooting a lot of mines into the hive to clear it out. It gets boring real fast when playing the map this way. That is why I speed up the video of my playthrough.
This is somewhat of a basic map. The Mayhem maps made after this improve quite a bit compared to this one.

Outpost29SE_SP_Marine - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 single player custom map titled "Outpost29SE_SP_Marine" aka "Outpost 29 Special Edition - Special Edition - Single Player - Marine".
Map author: HHO.
Map review:
"Outpost29SE_SP_Marine" which I will refer to as Outpost29SE for short here, is a remake of the multiplayer map "DM_outpost29SE".
My playthrough is of the marine version.
I highly recommend this map. Go play it.

BioWeapon - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 singleplayer custom map titled "BioWeapon".
Map author: Admiral Sleffton
Storyline:
"On a distant planet, LV 263, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation has established a mining and research facility. The planet's rich mineral deposits made it an ideal source for
scientific development. However, the mineral mining facility has simply been a front for public and military eyes. In truth, the Yutani Corporation has discovered a subterranean
xenomorph hive on the planet, and constructed the facility to gain access to the hive and conduct experimental research. Now, during one of the most critical experiments, the
facility has suffered a power loss. Something has gone wrong. Unable to mount a timely investigation themselves, the Yutani Corporation has asked the marines to investigate the
situation. So, after arriving to the planet by dropship, your marine team has set course for the mining facility via APC. Just another routine mission to restore communications at
a mineral mining facility and clean up after the Yutani Corporation again.....or so you thought."
Map review:
BioWeapon is a long singleplayer map. It will take you about an hour or so to complete. I point this out because there are long cutscenes, long elevator waits and some backtracking for
keycards and items. It is indeed a good map, you just need to take this map slow not to miss anything. The map does a lot of cool things with unused AvP2 characters such as the striker, rhinog and ceti. Level design is also pretty good as you will go from a Weyland-Yutani facility, to an underground lab, to an underground dig, to ultimately an alien hive. The new voice acting is also done really well and is a welcome addition.
BioWeapon has some major flaws though. The first flaw is the serious lack of ammo. Every bullet you have in this map is precious. If you waste any ammo shooting the extra ai in the labs you will be doomed by the end boss predator fight. Furthermore, if you miss picking up the minigun or shotgun (like I did at first) you will struggle to defeat the ceti, praetorian or boss predator. Health is also scarce, but you can manage without it if you quick save often. I've played this map three times now and each time I play it I seem to miss some ammo pickup or crucial weapon mainly because the keycard system is confusing. The storage lockers that don't open rely on keycards to be opened. There is no indication to let you know this. So when you come across a locked locker, it is easy to forget about it and continue on with the map.
Moreover, it should be mentioned that you MUST get the dynamite near the elevator at the bottom of the dig to complete this map. The map does not tell you you need dynamite until you get deep in the hive with little ammo/health with infinite respawning aliens. If you forget the dynamite you will be screwed. If you manage to reach the final boss predator, be sure to have a good amount of ammo. He can't be defeated head on as he constantly jumps away when attacked. You need to use his same cheap tactics to beat him by playing cat and mouse. I've defeated him with a knife once when I ran out of ammo, but just barely.
Once again, BioWeapon is a cool map. It just has some issues with the difficulty balance.

Skin Tester Aliens Preds - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 single player custom map titled "Skin Tester Aliens Preds".
Map author: HHO.
Map review:
"Skin Tester Aliens Preds" is the second of three skin tester maps made by HHO. Like the first skin tester map, there is a mirror. However, this time the author placed the npcs for all the predator and alien characters. The ceti and rhinog are added as a bonus as well. Unfortunately the ceti seems to be texture mapped wrong, as its face is on its torso. Regardless of that, this is a great map for viewing alien and predator character skins and models.
In my playthrough I shoot all the npcs to test if they can be defeated or not. Most of them can be defeated easily, but a few have either super high HP or are invulnerable. This map is highly recommended.

DM_BW_Mechwarriors - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough)
Aliens vs Predator 2 single player custom map titled "DM_BW_Mechwarriors" aka "DM BW Mechwarriors".
Map author: {BW} Netrider.
Map review:
Mechwarriors is an exosuit themed map. This map was originally a multiplayer map that I republished as a single player map in Happy Hunting Map Pack as it played fine in single player. In Mechwarriors, the player will spawn as Harrison with no weapons and must get in an exosuit to defeat all the npcs and reach the end of the map. In multiplayer, the player can get in and out of exosuits at will. However, this feature isn't available in single player.
Thus, the player will be stuck in the exosuit permanently unless they use cheat mpmorph. Also it is worth noting that there are almost no ammo pickups on this map as the player is expected to use a new exosuit for ammo often. Therefore, the player will run low on ammo quite fast. To combat this problem, the player can use cheat mpstockpile to give themselves more ammo. The map doesn't work perfectly in single player, but with these two cheats, it is playable. All the player really needs is the cheat mpstockpile and they can defeat the entire map in one exosuit.
Overall, this is a unique map and is worth checking out just to see the dozens of npc enemy exosuits attacking the player.
