"Lavender's Blue" (sometimes called "Lavender Blue") is an English folk song and nursery rhyme dating to the 17th century. It has a Roud Folk Song Index number of 3483. It has been recorded in various forms since the 20th century and some pop versions have been hits in the US and UK charts.

There are as many as thirty verses to the song, and many variations of each verse. A typical version, described by James Halliwell in 1849,[1] is:
Lavender's blue, dilly dilly, lavender's green,
When I am king, dilly dilly, you shall be queen:
Who told you so, dilly dilly, who told you so?
'Twas mine own heart, dilly dilly, that told me so.
Call up your men, dilly dilly, set them to work,
Some with a rake, dilly dilly, some with a fork;
Some to make hay, dilly dilly, some to thresh corn,
Whilst you and I, dilly dilly, keep ourselves warm.
If you should die, dilly dilly, as it may hap,
You shall be buried, dilly dilly, under the tap;
Who told you so, dilly dilly, pray tell me why?
That you might drink, dilly dilly, when you are dry.

The "Battle Hymn of the Republic", also known as "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory" outside of the United States, is a popular American patriotic song by the abolitionist writer Julia Ward Howe.
Howe wrote her lyrics to the music of the song "John Brown's Body" in November 1861 and first published them in The Atlantic Monthly in February 1862. The song links the judgment of the wicked at the end of the age (through allusions to biblical passages such as Isaiah 63:1–6 and Revelation 14:19) with the American Civil War.

Description time!
Soon May the #Wellerman Come, also known as "Wellerman" [c. 1860–70][is a sea shanty from my homeland #NewZealand. Nice to know we had a hit Sea Shanty down this way over a hundred years before we produced Crowded House and Russel Crowe! The song refers to the "wellermen", supply ships owned by the British Weller brothers who emigrated to New Zealand. (Ok, so they were British, but we're keeping the song England!) In early 2021, versions by British folk music group the #LongestJohns and Scottish singer #NathanEvans became viral hits on the social media site TikTok, leading to a "social media craze" around songs popularly considered #SeaShanties, which is fantastic because I intend to make a whole lot of Sea Shanty Tutorials in the future!
This song is super catchy, so be warned if you haven't heard it already, this song is going to get stuck inside your head even more than the song, This Song is Going to Get Stuck inside Your Head!
Someone asked me to do this one a few months ago. At the time I had no idea what it was. Believe it or not even though it is a Kiwi song, and it's had millions and millions of views on the old YouTube, no one, and I mean almost no one, in my country has ever heard of it. Which is very sad. Kiwis, being members of a small isolated country take a lot of pride in our past achievements. Sir Edmond Hillary features boldly on our five dollar bill for conquering Everest. Kate Shepherd, for her efforts during the Women's Suffrage movement graces our $10 note! Peter Jackson made 6 of the best movies ever and we gladly gave the world The Flight of the Conchords! Viva La Dirt League are also one of our own... but why Wellerman remains buried and unknown down this way I wouldn't know.
But there is hope. When I played this song to my kids and to my nephews it became a cult phenomenon amongst the various aged children in my life. Not only does my own son play it relentlessly every time he gets close enough to Alexa but my nephew went home and belted it out on his own device to his mother's dismay. Next thing I know I'm getting a text message, an angry text message, from my sister in law cursing me for my blasted Sea Shanties! So maybe that's why it's not so big down here? Maybe it has something to do with how annoying it is after the 150th play?
You folks at home are probably getting sick of me posting the same song for over 3 weeks now! Don't worry though, the world ain't going to run out of songs any time soon! I'll be back with "new" songs soon enough! And if you're a penny whistler, kalimba player, recorder lover, or fife wielder, don't worry, those tutorials are on their way too!
But back to the song and what it's all about! At least according to Wikipedia...
The song's lyrics describe a whaling ship called the "Billy o' Tea" and its hunt for a right whale. (Talk about a story line that is out of touch with today's sensitive hearers!) The song describes how the ship's crew hope for a "wellerman" (an employee of the Weller brothers, who owned ships that brought provisions to New Zealand whalers) to arrive and bring them supplies of luxuries, with the chorus stating "soon may the wellerman come, to bring us sugar and tea and rum." According to the song's listing on the website New Zealand Folk Song, "the workers at these bay-whaling stations (shore whalers) were not paid wages, they were paid in slops (ready made clothing), spirits and tobacco." In the whaling industry in 19th-century New Zealand, the Weller brothers owned ships that would sell provisions to whaling boats. The chorus continues with the crew singing of their hope that "one day when the tonguin' is done we'll take our leave and go". "Tonguing" in this context refers to the practice of cutting strips of whale blubber to render into oil. Subsequent verses detail the captain's determination to bring in the whale in question, even as time passes and multiple whaling boats are lost in the struggle. In the last verse, the narrator describes how the Billy o' Tea is still locked in an ongoing struggle with the whale, with the wellerman making a "regular call" to encourage the captain and crew.
Quite a history there! and let me assure you, New Zealand no longer has a whaling industry, neither has it had one for a very long time! So if you're a whale and in need of some safe waters come down this way and stay safe!
Thanks to everyone who watches this video, I certainly hope you managed to stick it out to the very end of the video and make sure you follow some of my links. There's the Buy Me A Coffee link at the top of this description, that's the really important one. Not that I love coffee, if I'm being honest I use the money to buy food! Until next time, stay tuned!

Tune Basics is the popular music #education series created by #NewZealand based #musician/content creator Kerin Gedge. It is designed to teach anybody who wants to learn the fundamentals or very basics of how to play #MusicalInstruments which includes #DiatonicHarmonica, #TremoloHarmonica with 24 holes, Tremolo #Harmonica with 16 holes, Tremolo Harmonica with 20 holes, #ChromaticHarmonica, kalimba with ten keys, recorder and #PennyWhistle (also known as #TinWhistle).
The aim of Tune Basics is to acquaint the student with clear graphic based #instructions for how to play simple and recognisable songs. Tune Basics will typically avoid delving too deeply into technique or musical styles but will, where possible, provide the pupil with relevant links to professional musicians who can take the learner deeper when they are ready to move on from basic #lessons.
Generally speaking Tune Basics will focus more on popular songs that are in the #PublicDomain. This is to protect the channel, Kerin Gedge, from any complications that may arise due to copyright claims. But it also aids the musical student with the belief that most popular public domain songs are already deeply embedded in the player’s subconscious, which lends itself to the learning experience. For example tunes like #TwinkleTwinkleLittleStar, #HappyBirthday or even #ChristmasSongs like #SilentNight or #JingleBells are so entrenched in modern western minds that learning the songs is “easy” because you’re already half way there!
Although on occasion #KerinGedge will provide a lesson on a modern popular song without monetising the video. Examples include #TheCoffinDanceMeme which became very popular during 2020, #BillyJoel’s #PianoMan or #Snufkin the harmonica playing wanderer from the #Moomin series.
#TuneBasics also provides #HarmonicaTabs #TinWhistleTabs /#PennyWhistleTabs and #KalimbaTabs on the Tune Basics blog, link provided above. Please be sure to browse our #TABS list as often we will provide TABS that are yet to be animated into #Tutorials. In other words you may find TABS for songs that aren’t available on the channel.
TuneBasics believes that ANYONE can learn to play. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what your musical background is. If you can follow the simple instructions provided in these videos then you’re well on your way to becoming a musician. But don’t expect to “get it” right away. Practice will always make perfect. Amazing Grace" is a Christian hymn published in 1779, with words written in 1772 by the English poet and Anglican clergyman John Newton (1725–1807). It is an immensely popular hymn, particularly in the United States, where it is used for both religious and secular purposes.
Newton wrote the words from personal experience. He grew up without any particular religious conviction, but his life's path was formed by a variety of twists and coincidences that were often put into motion by others' reactions to what they took as his recalcitrant insubordination.
He was pressed (conscripted) into service in the Royal Navy. After leaving the service, he became involved in the Atlantic slave trade. In 1748, a violent storm battered his vessel off the coast of County Donegal, Ireland, so severely that he called out to God for mercy. This moment marked his spiritual conversion but he continued slave trading until 1754 or 1755, when he ended his seafaring altogether. He began studying Christian theology and later became an abolitionist.
Lyrics
Amazing grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come,
'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.

How to Play Wellerman on a Chromatic Harmonica

Hey folks! Harmonica lovers and enthusiasts of all ages! Here is a basic lesson for a fantastic song, Wellerman, made especially for Chromatic Harmonica. In case you're wondering, a Chromatic harmonica is the one with the button on the side! If you play a different type of harmonica then click on my playlists, I've got lessons for tremolos, diatonics and even a few other instruments, so don't be perturbed if this lesson isn't right for you!
#Wellerman, also known as "Soon May the Wellerman Come", dates back to the late 19th century when men braved the tyranny of the ocean with fishy beards and sang songs known as shanties. This particular Sea Shanty refers to the Wellermen, supply ships owned by the British Weller brothers who emigrated to New Zealand. (how nice a famous song with a connection to my homeland) In early 2020, versions by British folk music group the Longest Johns and Scottish singer #NathanEvans became viral hits on the social media site TikTok, leading to a "social media craze" around songs popularly considered sea shanties. So let's see if we can get this #tutorial the same viral status hey! If you would like to learn more about this song you can check out this cool article on wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wellerman
If you're keen on Sea Shanties then please let me know in the comments below what your favourite #SeaShanties are so I can look them up and have a crack at them! And if you feel like making a sponge bob joke or two then be my guest, it happens all the time.
If you have a harmonica that's in a different key then don't worry, just turn the volume down and follow the scary finger and arrows, and hopefully you should end up with something that sounds like the song I'm trying to teach you here!
When you get sick of my channel, or rather when you want to move onto more comprehensive lessons then please visit learntheharmonica.com for some great tutorials by Liam Ward. He's a pretty neat guy.
It's a Monday night in May as I type this... so far this is only the second tutorial I've made for this particular song, but rest assured me laddies (or ladies) that there are indeed many more yet to come, as I've recorded the narration for the various Tremolos as well as Penny Whistle and recorder.
If you're wondering when my next Kalimba lessons are due to come out the answer is I don't really know! Since I purchased my 17 key Kalimba I have been practicing quite a bit and am looking forward to producing a whole string of lessons for that one, so stay tuned.
Why am I talking about Kalimba? Oh yeah, that's right... I'm trying to write as many words for this description as I can! It's very hard to write a long description for something that is basically really basic and straight forward. You know what I mean? Seriously, my videos are like hey, here's a harmonica, and look this is a big scary drawing of a finger pointing at what holes are what and woah! Look Out! Now there are red and blue arrows flying around. So there's nothing much to describe!
I was using templated descriptions but I've noticed a substantial drop in views lately so I thought I had better experiment. I thought maybe writing longer and more original descriptions would help but man I'm struggling! Oh yeah, sorry about the animated whale... it is probably not my best "animation" to date... but this song is about a captain hunting a whale after all. We needed a darn whale! I couldn't find a decent enough stock photo of a whale so I decided to draw the whale, and what I ended up with looks like a big grey salami with eyes and a tale. But the TABS should make it worth while for you. I wonder who actually reads these things anyway? Seriously if you read this and have gotten this far please leave a comment so I can be wowed by the fact that human beings actually read these descriptions. I mean, seriously what is the point of a description anyway? Don't videos generally speak for themselves? I hope you guys are enjoying my channel and my music lessons. I do enjoy making them, even though my computer can be a real chore sometimes... you can help me get a new one by buying me a coffee... you know it's not an actual coffee.. it's just a polite way to say, hey, I gots to get paid! You know? I suppose I should tell you that I have another channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyvFXjR-sWQrQwf1sFZANew it's not that great, just music that I've recorded over the years and I don't upload to it very much. So you've got this far. Leave me a comment, ask me stuff, make a request but please, public domain songs only! Tell me about stuff and things. But most of all keep practicing and until next time, STAY TUNED!

"#TwinkleTwinkleLittleStar" is a popular #EnglishLullaby. The lyrics are from an early-19th-century #EnglishPoem by Jane Taylor, The Star. The poem, which is in couplet form, was first published in 1806 in Rhymes for the Nursery, a collection of poems by Taylor and her sister Ann. It is sung to the tune of the French melody "Ah! vous dirai-je, maman", which was published in 1761 and later arranged by several composers, including Mozart with Twelve Variations on "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman".[1] The English lyrics have five stanzas, although only the first is widely known. It has a #RoudFolkSongIndex number of 7666. This song is usually performed in the key of C major.

In this Harmonica tutorial I will be showing you the very basics of how to play Silent Night, the favourite traditional Christmas Carol by Joseph Mohr.
Sometimes you may need to watch these tutorials a few times to get the hang of it. Most songs on Tune Basics are broken up into simple manageable phrases so learn one phrase at a time! Pause, practice and then continue. And when you’re ready to move onto more complicated lessons check out #LiamWar at #learntheharmonica.com or #TomlinLecki at #tomlinharmonicalessons.com.

"Ar Hyd y Nos" (English: All Through the Night) is a Welsh song sung to a tune that was first recorded in Edward Jones' Musical and Poetical Relics of the Welsh Bards (1784). The most commonly sung Welsh lyrics were written by John Ceiriog Hughes (1832-1887), and have been translated into several languages, including English (most famously by Harold Boulton (1859–1935)[1]) and Breton. One of the earliest English versions, to different Welsh lyrics by one John Jones, was by Thomas Oliphant in 1862.[2]
The melody is also used in the hymn "Go My Children With My Blessing."
The song is highly popular with traditional Welsh male voice choirs, and is sung by them at festivals in Wales and around the world.[3]
The song is also sometimes considered a Christmas carol, and as such has been performed by many artists on Christmas albums, including Olivia Newton-John and Michael McDonald, who sang it as a duet on Newton-John's 2007 album Christmas Wish. Cerys Matthews sang it solo on her 2010 album
One version offers these lyrics:
Sleep my child and peace attend thee,
All through the night
Guardian angels God will send thee,
All through the night
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping
Hill and vale in slumber steeping,
I my loving vigil keeping
All through the night.
While the moon her watch is keeping
All through the night
While the weary world is sleeping
All through the night
O'er thy spirit gently stealing
Visions of delight revealing
Breathes a pure and holy feeling
All through the night.
Although there are several other versions which also include the original Welsh version.

"How Great Thou Art" is a Christian hymn based on a Swedish traditional melody and a poem written by Carl Boberg (1859–1940) in Mönsterås, Sweden, in 1885. It was translated into German and then into Russian; it was translated into English from the Russian by English missionary Stuart K. Hine, who also added two original verses of his own. The hymn was popularised by George Beverly Shea and Cliff Barrows during the Billy Graham crusades.[1] It was voted the British public's favourite hymn by BBC's Songs of Praise.[2] "How Great Thou Art" was ranked second (after "Amazing Grace") on a list of the favourite hymns of all time in a survey by Christianity Today magazine in 2001. For more read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_Great_Thou_Art
Most common English Lyrics:
Verse1
O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hand hath made.
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Verse 2
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:
Verse 3
And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin:
Verse 4
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!

How to Play a Tremolo Harmonica with 24 Holes

In the lessons we'll be taking an in depth look into the workings of a #TremoloHarmonica with 24 holes, focusing on the key of C we'll look at the individual notes of each hole and how to play the C major scale in 3 octaves.
Tremolo #harmonicas are a type of harmonica, distinct by having two reeds per note. In a #tremoloharmonica the two reeds are tuned slightly off a reference pitch, one slightly sharp and the other slightly flat. This gives a unique wavering or warbling sound created by the two reeds being not exactly in tune with each other and difference in their subsequent waveforms acting against one another.... for more please see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremolo_harmonica

For #AllSaintsDay, about 5 years ago, my then seven year old daughter had to choose a #Saint and do a small but interesting presentation about them.
So together we made this short animation about this amazing generous man who would go on to become known in modern times as #SantaClaus.
My daughter drew the pictures and narrated while I did a very rushed job at animating it with Adobe Animate.
The music is my own arrangement of #JingleBells which is in the #PublicDomain. It was performed and recorded by me using #LogicProX and I retain full copyright of this particular recording. Any company who tries to claim copyright will be contested against.
#SaintNicholas of Myra[a] (traditionally 15 March 270 – 6 December 342),[3][4][b] also known as #NicholasOfBari, was an early #ChristianBishop of the #AncientGreek city of Myra in #AsiaMinor (modern-day Demre, Turkey) during the time of the #RomanEmpire.[7] He is revered by many #Christians as a saint.[8] Because of the many #miracles attributed to his intercession, he is also known as #NicholasTheWonderworker.[c] Saint Nicholas is the #PatronSaint of sailors, merchants, archers, repentant thieves, children, brewers, pawnbrokers, and students in various cities and countries around Europe. His reputation evolved among the faithful, as was common for early #ChristianSaints, and his legendary habit of secret gift-giving gave rise to the traditional model of Santa Claus ("#SaintNick") through #Sinterklaas. To Whatever Happens Next - Original Music by Kerin Gedge
It's my birthday so I'm being creative. This one is quite a bit different to "42" which celebrates my age. This one is a salute to whatever happens next. Made completely on the fly as I completed "42", it's more electronic in nature which I suppose could be indicative of how different the future, my future will be, as we move into what we used to call "Science Fiction"

All my music is created using #LogicProX. I usually do instrumentals and like to experiment with a range of sounds from electronic to acoustic. I’m particularly fond of the Chinese #ErhuViolin and the various electronic leads that are available on Logic Pro/Alchemy.
If you are a content creator and would like to use my music you are most welcome to it, but I do ask that you contact me and let me know that you have used it so that I can share your work with my own subscribers. I’m a big believe in share and share alike! I also ask that you remember to credit me in your work and provide a link to your subscribers so that they too can find my music! I also don’t mind if you monetise your project BUT if you are a commercial operator and it is likely that your material is going to make a significant amount of revenue then I gots to get paid, so please ensure you contact me in that regard. I define commercials as any project such as a movie, TV show, mass produced commercial music project or game that is likely to make a consistent revenue stream over and above $10,000. If that is you then please contact me so we can negotiate royalties. I like royalties.
A little bit about me.
I am the creator of the #YouTube #tutorial series #TuneBasics which aims to teach budding musicians the very basics of the #harmonica, #tinwhistle and #recorder. But occasionally I get the creative urge to actually make music too. Based in Auckland #NewZealand where I work as a #projecitonist / #DigitalTechnician for a #cinema as my day job while plotting to take over the internet with my #creativity one day. I love books, history, music (obviously) and movies.
And now I’m totally running out of things to say. I find it hard to write about music because I can’t really express with words what I’m trying to convey in music. Music has always been a very deep part of my person. Since as long as I can remember there has always been a tune in my head, and I can’t tell whether they were my tunes or things I picked up along they way. In my mind I composed my first real piece of music when I was 3-4 years old. Or did I? It came to me in a dream and I have never forgotten it. I play a bit of piano and guitar, I sing, and at the age of 12 performed in the hit musical #LesMiserable when it toured #Auckland in 1991. Performed in multiple plays as a teen, particularly Shakespeare. What more can I say? No idea. If you read this far then well done. Apparently it’s good to have an awfully long description with a bunch of key words in it but as I said before, I don’t know what my music is about, except that it some how chronicles, without words, what is going on inside this head of mine.
My favourite #Bible verse is “Our minds are full of evil and there is madness in our hearts while we live.” and while my music is not a conveyer of “evil” I would say that it is, to me, like a vessel upon which I navigate the madness of my heart. There is certainly some madness in there. Sometimes I don’t know up from down or inside from out. Music is the anchor that keeps the madness in my dreams the the sanity in my soul.

The Bristol-based composer, conductor and organist Arthur Warrell[1] is responsible for the popularity of the carol. Warrell arranged the tune for his own University of Bristol Madrigal Singers, and performed it with them in concert on December 6, 1935.[2] That same year, his elaborate four-part arrangement was published by Oxford University Press, under the title "A Merry Christmas: West Country traditional song".[3]
Warrell's arrangement is notable for using "I" instead of "we" in the words; the first line is "I wish you a Merry Christmas". It was subsequently republished in the collection Carols for Choirs (1961), and remains widely performed.[4]
The earlier history of the carol is unclear. It is absent from the collections of West-countrymen Davies Gilbert (1822 and 1823)[5] and William Sandys (1833),[6] as well as from the great anthologies of Sylvester (1861)[7] and Husk (1864).[8] It is also missing from The Oxford Book of Carols (1928). In the comprehensive New Oxford Book of Carols (1992), editors Hugh Keyte and Andrew Parrott describe it as "English traditional" and "[t]he remnant of an envoie much used by wassailers and other luck visitors"; no source or date is given... learn more at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Wish_You_a_Merry_Christmas

#ForHesAJollyGoodFellow is a popular song that is sung to congratulate a person on a significant event, such as a promotion, a #birthday, a #wedding (or playing a major part in a wedding), a wedding anniversary, the birth of a child, or the winning of a championship sporting event. The melody originates from the French song "Marlbrough s'en va-t-en guerre" ("Marlborough Has Left for the War").

How to Play a Tremolo Harmonica with 16 Holes
Check out my Instruments on #Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/shop/keringedge (paid link)
#TABS available here! https://tunebasics.blogspot.com/2019/09/harmonica-tabs.html
In the lessons we'll be taking an in depth look into the workings of a #TremoloHarmonica with 16 holes, (or 32 holes depending on how you look at it!) focusing on the key of C we'll look at the individual notes of each hole and how to play the C major scale.

"Be Thou My Vision" (Old Irish: Rop tú mo baile or Rob tú mo bhoile) is a traditional Christian hymn of Irish origin. The words are based on a Middle Irish poem that has traditionally been attributed to Dallán Forgaill.[1]
The best-known English version, with some minor variations, was translated in 1905 by Mary Elizabeth Byrne in 1905, then made into verse by Eleanor Hull and published in 1912. Since 1919 it has been commonly sung to an Irish folk tune, noted as "Slane" in church hymnals,[1][2] and is one of the most popular hymns in the United Kingdom.
English Lyrics by Eleanor Hull
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;Be all else but naught to me, save that Thou art;Be Thou my best thought in the day and the night,Both waking and sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;Be Thou ever with me, and I with Thee, Lord;Be Thou my great Father, and I Thy true son;Be Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
Be Thou my Breastplate, my Sword for the fight;Be Thou my whole Armor, be Thou my true Might;Be Thou my soul's Shelter, be Thou my strong Tow’r,O raise Thou me heav’nward, great Pow’r of my pow’r.
Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise;Be Thou mine inheritance, now and always;Be Thou and Thou only the first in my heart,O high King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art.
High King of heaven, Thou heaven's bright Sun,O grant me its joys, after vict'ry is won;Great Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,Still be Thou my vision, O Ruler of all.
Although there are quite a few variations, not the least of which being the original Old Irish version.

"Happy Birthday to You", also known as "Happy Birthday", is a song traditionally sung to celebrate a person's birthday. According to the 1998 Guinness World Records, it is the most recognized song in the English language, followed by "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow". The song's base lyrics have been translated into at least 18 languages.[1] The melody of "Happy Birthday to You" comes from the song "Good Morning to All",[2] which has traditionally been attributed to American sisters Patty and Mildred J. Hill in 1893,[3][4] although the claim that the sisters composed the tune is disputed.[5]
The song is in the public domain in the United States and the European Union. Warner Chappell Music had previously claimed copyright on the song in the US and collected licensing fees for its use; in 2015 the copyright claim was declared invalid and Warner Chappell agreed to pay back $14 million in licensing fees. If this isn't the song for you or you're looking for something else to play on your harmonica then click on my playlists! I have tons of other easy songs available for not just the diatonic harmonica but also for Tremolo and Chromatic! Am I repeating myself? But seriously, check out my playlists!
All my tutorials are made using Adobe Animate. Special thanks to Unsplash for the stock photos and Logic Pro X for the audio which I painstakingly record myself!
The harmonica sounds are unfortunately made with a Sampler. What you hear in these videos is actually my harmonica which has been recorded and modified on Logic Pro X, which is why it sounds "synthy"... but doing this way allows me to make my tutorials faster!
