These zoo born juvenile Emus are very inquisitive about people visiting them. DeYoung zoo in Wallace, Mi is home and rescue to many animals. The Emu is Australia's tallest native bird, reaching between 1.6 m and 1.9 m when standing erect. Adult Emus are covered with shaggy grey-brown feathers except for the neck and head, which are largely naked and bluish-black. The wings are greatly reduced, but the legs are long and powerful. Each foot has three forward-facing toes and no hind toe. Most people see Emus along roadsides, near fences or other barriers, giving the impression of close association. However, Emus are not really social, except for young birds, which stay with their father. They are so curious and funny!

Swinging on a swing is always fun. Especially for a teenage girl. Just escape life for a little bit enjoying a fun past time. Slow motion captures this moment perfectly. So fun.

Albino whitetail fawns were born at the DeYoung Zoo in Wallace, MI. The owners saved them from predators and hand feed them. They are friendly and love to be around people. It is also a great teaching opportunity for children (and adults) who never get to see these majestic animals. They are so sweet!

DeYoung zoo in Wallace, Michigan has all kinds of cool animals to interact with. This is an albino Whitetail buck. His antlers are still in velvet and are so soft. He is fed well and used to people. We can get close and touch him and learn more about this beautiful species. He's so amazing!

Kramer is a sweet big ole cat. Hes very curious and naturally playful. This newly acquired aquarium is perfect for him to observe and try to catch the fishies. He's so cute!

Cooper is an Australian cattle dog. This breed is known for herding cattle, and just about anything that moves! Wild deer are all over in the country and have been coming in this owners yard since Cooper was little. He is used to them and gladly shares his huge yard with them. Such a peaceful scene!

Strong Falls is located in Wisconsin. It's part of the Peshtigo River and is s sight to see, especially in the spring.

Loki the white bellied caique is playful. When the owner sits in the chair below him he acts silly and hangs upside-down to play. Then just decides to step on her finger and be held. He is so cute!

Cooper loves to ride (on and in anything) and work and is owner on the skidsteer is the perfect opportunity to do both. Cooper will run and jump on it if his owner even gets near the skidsteer. He found a new passion. He is so funny!

Adventures of Cooper the Australian cattle dog. Cooper has a long history with these wild deer that come right in our yard. He has known them since he was little (there are viral videos of it). Every night the deer come in, no matter what we are doing. Here, we are in the pool, splashing and talking and the deer do not care. Cooper just sits and watches them. Very intently! He doesn't even turn his head when I call him. We are so lucky to live in this beautiful area. So peaceful!

The mom of these cute puppies is a German Shepard. She jumps in by them and they immediately try to nurse and she wants no part of it anymore. Since they are old enough to eat on their own. The dad is a black lab. They made such cute puppies and we all get to enjoy watching them!

We all need peace and quiet sometimes. This is one of my favorite places in the world. A pond in the middle of the woods, Right behind our house. We spend many days and nights here swimming, kayaking fishing and just relaxing. This was a beautiful calm warm sun setting night. So peaceful!

These fish are not actually baby sharks, but they sure look like it. They are called bullheads and are so cute. They usually are pretty skidish and swim away from people but we spend a lot of time in this pond and they have gotten used to us. This is the first time they've gotten this close and nibbled on my daughter's skin. Bullheads have very sharp pointed side fins, so we have to be careful around them. But their skin is very soft and smooth.

This cutie little chicken lives at a hobby farm. Sometimes other chickens bully and pick on him. Then the owner babies him and holds him in her arms. He will actually fall asleep sometimes. He will then be separated from them and given a chance to heal. But he gets lonely and gets put back with them until it happens again. He's pretty cute and slightly spoiled!!

Fourth of July was a beautiful calm full moon night. Instead of fireworks, we blew up a junk pile with tanerite. It was really loud and really cool.

We live in the country. Lots of land, ponds and woods. Its so peaceful in the evening as the sun is setting. Sitting outside with my bird, dogs and daughter is all I need. So blessed

Rigby the beagle chihuahua mix rescue lives the water. He swims everyday with the family. He chases bubbles and toys. The water splashes in his eyes so one day the 11 year old daughter put a pair of goggles on him and he didn't mind at all. He swam around just like normal, he might actually like them!! He's so adorable!

These people have an over abundance of frogs and toads living in the country and the same ones live around their house every year. They all come out at night to eat, so these people like to interact with them. When you pick them up they make the cutest chirping sound and when you pet them, they seem to enjoy it. So cute!

Rigby the beagle chihuahua mix loves the water. He chases bubbles or toys, jumps in with the kids and seims all day. He's very strong and fast so pulling around a child on a floatie is no big deal and he seems to enjoy it. He jumps right back in for more fun!@

Sal the bearded dragon loves live roaches and superworms. She knows when you get the superworm container out that we are going to feed her some. She gets very curious and patiently waits for you to feed her. Using her sticky tongue to grab them right from your hand. She's so cute!!

Cooper has a toy called a herding ball. He freaks out and chases it all around. When his owners put a large rock in the water, he thinks it's a herding ball and tries to get it out. He cries and scratches at it then it rolls in deeper and he can't reach it. Also, if you look close, there are hundreds of minnows gathered around him because of the water being stirred up!

Bull frogs live in the ponds all around our house. In the spring, when they are mating, the sound of them chirping is heard for miles. This pond is right in our yard and you cannot even hear the person talk standing right next to you. It is so loud. And so peaceful. It is the sound of summer!

Rigby the Beagle Chihuahua mix loves water. He swims in ponds and pools and even climbs in the hot tub with us. His obsession is chasing bubbles. Here he discovered bubbles in little bucket. He even growls at me and his brother when we get near it. He won't bite, but is protecting his new found toy!

Summer brings thunderstorms and tornadoes. This storm ended up being both! We were sitting at the local bar when this one rolled in. It was very hot and humid out, perfect weather for storms. It was amazing and beautiful. The tornado missed the bar and our house. But hit big just 2 miles from here, you can see the shelf of it, turning....mother nature is a wonderful creature!

Kitch-iti-kipi or "The Big Spring" is two hundred feet across and forty feet deep. Over 10,000 gallons a minute gush from many fissures in underlying limestone, the flow continuing throughout the year at a constant 45 degree temperature so the spring never freezes. Located in Upper Michigan. This beautiful quiet spring was discovered deep in the lush wilderness by John I. Bellaire, a Manistique businessman. He enjoyed looking down into the deep crystal clear pool and watching as the big spring presented untold wonders and fish swam deep in the water.
