War Made Easy: How Presidents & Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death
War Made Easy by Loretta Alper and Jeremy Earp aims to reveal how the American government has deployed media as a tool for gaining public support for war. Adapted from a book by Norman Solomon, and narrated by Sean Penn, the film draws parallels between the Vietnam War and the Iraq War to show the U.S. government’s continuous work to cultivate war support from the public.
From Lyndon B. Johnson to George W. Bush, War Made Easy draws on extensive archival footage to show in great detail how the media have consistently supplied the public with a pro-war message that aligns with the government’s mission of perpetuating war after war. While Alper and Earp’s documentary touches on a variety of themes, its primary focus lies in deconstructing the ties between media, government, and war.

Government crossed the line at Ruby Ridge - DOCUMENTARY
Ruby Ridge by Barak Goodman tells the true story of the Weaver family who held out against the federal government in an armed standoff that captivated the nation.
In August 1992 in Idaho on a northern stretch known as Ruby Ridge, US marshals approached the Weaver home intent on arresting Randy Weaver who had not appeared for his court summons after an illegal sale of shotguns to an undercover federal agent. When the family encountered the heavily armed federal law enforcement on their property, a firefight ensued.
Ultimately, Randy’s wife Vicki and their son were killed and Randy Weaver himself was injured before the fighting ceased. With the cooperation and insight of his daughter Sara Weaver, this film sparked the debate on the federal government’s ability to encroach on the right to bear arms and the beginning of the modern movement of the American militia.

The assasination of Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korea’s leader
In February 2017, Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korea’s leader, was assassinated in Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur airport. He was attacked with a deadly nerve agent called VX. Over the next few days, two women from Indonesia and Vietnam were arrested in connection with the murder, although they claimed that they were duped into it under the guise of a prank. CCTV footage appeared to show North Korean agents coordinating the events within the airport.
North Korea: The Death of Kim Jong-nam investigates the assassination of Kim Jong-nam through interviews with various insiders, including former intelligence officers, ambassadors and defectors. It reveals a riveting tale of a family feud and sheds light on the reason for his assassination and the inner workings of one of the world’s most secretive states.

What really happened in The Edward Snowden story
Citizenfour uncovers the secret and illegal practices of the U.S. National Security Agency’s mass surveillance programme using classified documents revealed by NSA whistle-blower Edward Snowden. It aims to shed light on the indiscriminate invasion of the privacy of American citizens as well as those of other countries carried out by the NSA in a case that the shocked the world.
The film follows award-winning documentary maker Laura Poitras and journalist Glenn Greenwald as they receive unprecedented access to Snowden and classified evidence of the government’s spying. The events covered in Citizenfour occur over an intense eight-day period in a Hong Kong hotel room in 2013.
Poitras had been working on a documentary about the extent of the government’s surveillance for two years when she started receiving encrypted emails from someone claiming to have proof of the shocking and illegal practices of the NSA. Five months later after the email correspondence began, Poitras convinces Snowden to let her film their encounter in Hong Kong after Snowden made it clear that he intended to use his real identity as the source of the classified information.
Citizenfour manages to put the audience in the hotel room with Snowden showing them his motives for blowing the lid on the government conspiracy. It also takes them through the intense eight-day period where Snowden, Poitras, and Greenwald were forced to make important decisions about the story that would change the world. Lastly, it warns of the extent and dangers of unrestricted government surveillance.

War on Whistleblowers - FULL DOCUMENTARY
War on Whistleblowers describes the trials and tribulations faced by whistleblowers and the sacrifices they make as they dare to speak the truth and expose the corruption in government and private sectors. It highlights their importance in an increasingly unregulated society where powerful forces often hold sway in many issues that are of concern to the general public.
Filmmaker Robert Greenwald focuses on the stories of four of these tireless crusaders who became aware of government wrong-doing and used the media to expose these acts of abuse. Together with their personal narrations, the documentary features interviews with legal experts and journalists who share their experiences regarding the challenges that are faced by whistleblowers today.
The film places a special focus on the huge storm that followed the activities of Edward Snowden, the NSA whistleblower, that took the form of an extensive government-sponsored smear campaign. In the course of the controversy, the public was encouraged to question Snowden’s patriotism as a citizen of the US.
War on Whistleblowers clearly and passionately demonstrates that people’s guaranteed freedoms, rights and way of life in modern democracies could be at risk if the security and well-being of whistleblowers are placed in jeopardy.

CIA Secrets Documentary Ep.2 - Spies CIA & KGB The Cold War
The Cold War was a period of diplomatic and strategic acrimony between the Soviet Union and the United States and its Western European allies. During the war, the CIA was concerned about Soviet espionage activities, but these worries became more pronounced after the war ended. The KGB's influence on world affairs arguably reached its height during the early part of the Cold War.2 The CIA and KGB became synonymous with Cold War espionage, and both relied on a wide variety of military and civilian agencies in this pursuit.1 In the late Cold War, the KGB was successful with intelligence coups in the cases of FBI counterspy Robert Hanssen and CIA Soviet Division officer Aldrich Ames. It was Cold War policy for the KGB of the Soviet Union and the secret services of the satellite states to extensively monitor public and private opinion, internal subversion, and possible revolutionary plots in the Soviet Bloc.0
