COLBERT: “Let’s talk about someone who is new to the Republican Party, at least in office, J.D. Vance, who was picked by Donald Trump to be his vice president. What do you make of that choice? What are your thoughts on that choice?” KINZINGER: “I mean, they are celebrating that choice both in Milwaukee tonight and in Moscow. Like, J.D. Vance is the one that has said, ‘I frankly don’t care what happens in Ukraine.’ He has very loudly talked about how he doesn’t care what happens in Ukraine. He has opposed aid to Ukraine. At a time where, since World War II, the biggest defense of a country, of freedom, that is happening right now — I mean, in the trenches in Ukraine you have somebody that’s a musician next to a machinist next to a college professor. These are people that are not at all — have anything in common, except they are standing together, defending their country. All we have to do is help finance that. Right? We are not even fighting. And J.D. Vance has aggressively parroted actual Russian talking points. So this to me, he’s a guy that was an anti-Trumper, that all of a sudden is the biggest pro-Trumper. He has no moral soul, no center. And how you can like Russian and what they are doing in Ukraine is beyond me. I think it was a terrible pick for the president.”

SCARBOROUGH: “Before we start this hour, Willie, I just wanted to briefly talk to our friends and viewers that watch us every day and talk about what happened yesterday. We were told, in no uncertain terms, on Sunday evening that there was going to be one news feed across all NBC News channels yesterday. ‘The TODAY Show’ would be Lester Holt, other people that, Willie, you worked with on Sunday. That was going to be one news feed across all NBC News channels, that we were going to stay as a network in breaking news mode throughout all day yesterday. That did not happen. We don’t know why that didn’t happen. Our team was not given a good answer as to why that didn’t happen, but it didn’t happen. We were also told it was going to happen throughout the day. And I guess after there was such a strong blowback about yesterday morning, I guess they changed their plans, and so those plans changed, as well. So it didn’t — you know, we’ve talked about it off the air. We’ll talk about it on the air because we talk about everything on the air. We were very surprised. We were very disappointed. And if we had known that there wasn’t going to be the one news feed from NBC News across all NBC News channels, Willie, we obviously would have been in yesterday morning.” GEIST: “Yeah, I was here up early on Sunday morning with NBC’s coverage. Savannah and I led the coverage on Sunday in the immediate aftermath, talking to eyewitnesses, talking to officials about what happened, obviously suited up and ready to go for yesterday morning on a big morning, and we were told something else was going to be broadcast. So, we are here today. Going through a lot. Catching up a little bit. But we want to be here for our audience, and we know you trust us and we have ultimate respect for you guys. So we are here today and wish we had been here yesterday.” SCARBOROUGH: “Yeah, we all wish we would have been here yesterday. We still are — we’d like to figure out exactly why there wasn’t that one news feed.” BRZEZINSKI: “And I think the reason why is this show began and continues 17 years later on being the place where you can go to have the hard conversations in a civil way. So it seemed like now more than ever is a day, a time that we would like to be on. And I think our viewers agree with that. So we continue. We are five minutes past the top of the hour — “ SCARBOROUGH: “And let me just say, next time we’re told there is going to be a news feed replacing us, we will be in our chairs.” BRZEZINSKI: “We’ll be sitting here.” SCARBOROUGH: “Yeah. And the news feed will be us, or they can get somebody else to host the show.” BRZEZINSKI: “We’ll still be sitting here.”

BEDINGFIELD: “But I would just say quickly, I mean, I think part of the reason that it has muted that conversation and why I think the Vance pick doesn‘t argue for Biden to be replaced is in some ways it does bring the conversation about the race, the narrative of the presidential race, back to a place where Joe Biden is strong. I mean, this is the soul of the nation argument. This is protecting democracy. This is a sense of, ‘We want somebody in the office who has wisdom and experience and a steady hand.’ I mean, I think the dynamics of this conversation go back to places Joe Biden is stronger. And so I think that that is a compelling reason. I would also just say, Scott said a few minutes ago that Donald Trump is a moderate, and I just don‘t think we can let that hang out in the air. He is — “ JENNINGS: “He is a moderate.” Goldberg: “Steve Bannon said he is.” BEDINGFIELD: “Yeah, because of Steve Bannon, he is a moderate. But come on.” JENNINGS: “He’s not a particular conservative Republican. He is not. He never has been.” BEDINGFIELD: “Three justices on the Supreme Court who overturned Roe v. Wade, which has been the conservative goal for the last 50 years.” JENNINGS: “But he is not the same as Ted Cruz. He is not the same as the Heritage Foundation. He‘s not an orthodox conservative Republican in the way you all have tried to define or malign him for the last several decades. He is different and everybody knows it, and it‘s one of the reasons he has so many working class appeal.” Jones: “I agree with you, because the traditional conservative Republican would not support an insurrection. A traditional Republican would not say he‘s going to pardon traitors and treasonous people who attacked our government. You‘re correct, he‘s not. He‘s worse. Worse. He‘s much worse. But I think, you know, part of the reason that J.D. Vance matters isn‘t for these kind of short-term electoral calculations. He matters because what he means for a Republican Party long-term. This is cementing a kind of nationalism. Now, Trump, to your point, I agree with you, he‘s an instinctive, impulsive, intuitive nationalist. J.D. Vance is an ideological nationalist. That‘s a much more dangerous virus because he can make this — he can Polish this stuff and make it seem palatable to people. He can sell this stuff to Silicon Valley. He can sell this stuff other places. And what it does is it locks the Republican Party on a pathway that I think is dangerous for the world. Again, the Ukrainians are now in deep trouble. NATO is now in deep trouble. Trump is — he could have gone with a Nikki Haley and signal to the world, ‘Hey, listen, I got to give stuff to my base, but I‘m not going to abandon the world.’ This pick is a horror on the world stage. So J.D. Vance matters because Donald Trump is pointing the Republican Party in a very scary direction for the long-term.”

[Clip ends] R. Johnson: “They are the party of open borders, reckless spending, weaponized government, and weakness on the world stage. This fringe agenda includes biological males competing against girls and the sexualization and indoctrination of our children.” [Clip ends] MADDOW: “Home state Republican Senator Ron Johnson tonight giving his remarks at the Republican National Convention on this, the first day of the RNC. Now, interestingly, Amna Nawaz, ‘PBS NewsHour’ anchor, she says that she asked Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson about the tone of his remarks. At one other point in his speech he said that Democratic policies are ‘clear and present danger to the country.’ She asked him about saying that about Democrats while he’s been otherwise calling for unity, and his response was that his speech that he just delivered at the RNC was not the speech he meant to give. It was all a big misunderstanding. The teleprompter loaded the old version, the new one called for unity, but they didn’t put that went in there, so he just gave the old one.” Reid: “And he couldn’t ad lib some unity?” (Laughter) Wallace: “I mean, first of all —“ Reid:” You couldn’t do a little ad-libbing of unity?” MADDOW: “Amna is a fantastic Reporter, I absolutely believe this is real, and I cannot believe this is real.” Reid: “Yeah.” PSAKI: “Well, first of all, we have all read from teleprompters.” WAGNER: “And all scripted teleprompters.” Reid: “Yes.” PSAKI: “If something comes up in the teleprompter that Rachel Maddow would read that says like, ‘I love Donald Trump, he’s the best representative of our democracy,’ you probably would stop and not read it and know it was the wrong — I don’t know whose script that would have been, but — so that’s a little strange. But what this reminds me, though, is that some of the reporting around today and the Republican convention has quoted aides on background saying, ‘We’ve looked at all of the speeches and not a lot of them need editing,’ which seemed surprising to me, if that — “ MADDOW: “Meaning after this weekend’s event, nothing needs to be toned down, everything was already super responsible?” PSAKI: “Correct. As in, ‘This is going to be unifying. That’s our intention. But not a lot of these speeches need editing.’ And what that led me to believe is, I’m not sure if we have a different meaning of unity and unifying, but it will be interesting to watch. I mean, each of these individuals, just like it’s true of the Democratic Party, are their own people. This is their moment to speak to the country and to prove themselves to the leader of their party. So, we’ll see what happens, but that tone may have been a greater indication of where we’re headed. We’ll see.”

Reporter: “Just last week in Michigan, President Biden called Trump a threat to this nation. Should we expect that he will not be calling out Trump with that kind of rhetoric going forward?” Jean-Pierre: “So, what I will say is that it is important, we believe it’s important to continue to forcefully speak against any type of political violence. That is what the president believes. And we do not want to politicize this moment. Politicizing this moment is unacceptable. We believe and the president believe (sic), you heard from him in very clear — in a very clear statement last night about the importance of uniting this country, the importance of continuing to do so, and that we cannot tear America apart to score political points. We cannot do that. And so, we don’t want to politicize this moment. We want to unite. We want to continue to focus on that. And that’s what the president’s gonna focus on.”

BAIER: “We just got off the phone with a former president. And he said this, I am thrilled that a judge had the courage and wisdom to do this. This has big, big implications, not just for this case, but for other cases. The Special Counsel worked with everyone to try to take me down. This is a big, big deal. It only makes this convention more positive. This will be an amazing week. He said, again, and again, that this was a big, big decision. He pointed to, you know, Justice Thomas and the questioning in the Supreme Court on this very issue about the special counsel, but seemed to indicate that he thought that this would have implications for other cases. He did confirm that he’s going to make a VP choice today. And he said, ‘Bret, there’s other surprises to come.’ So I don’t know what that means.” HEMMER: “OK. So if he’s going to make his choice today —“ [crosstalk] BAIER: “But I wanted to get reaction from the former president.” HEMMER: “Yeah. Yeah. If he’s going to make his choice today, will we hear it today? Did he answer that?” BAIER: “Yes. Yeah, we’re going to get the VP today. And he said, there’s other things to come — I don’t know what that means. But the big reaction was, that he is thrilled. And he was really praising Judge Cannon, who he said from the beginning, had the demeanor that she was not going to put — put up with garbage. And he thinks that this has big implications for other cases, as well. He’s thrilled. Think about this moment, though, as you guys are all talking about the legal implications, the political implications of all of this, in the wake of what just happened on Saturday, you know, he’s alive, you know, for just centimeters of a bullet going by. He is now you know, praising God that he’s — that he’s here. He is projecting that he’s going to try to unify a convention and — and give a different message than he originally was thinking he was going to give. He said he tore up the 20 page speech, and has reworked it. And he thinks that this is the time for the country to come together. We’ll see if that delivers by the time he gets to the stage. But this moment, right here, this decision is another amazing positive thing for former President Donald Trump.” PERINO: “It’s really incredible. But the election for a long time felt like he was kind of sleepy, right, we didn’t have the primary season that we thought we would, and then all of a sudden now is like minute by minute we are having incredible stories drop. Thank you so much.”

NAVARRO: “So, you know, I’m — I’m very happy Donald Trump is safe, full stop, period. And I condemn all forms of political violence. I’m simply heartbroken for the family of Corey Comperatore, a volunteer Fire chief, a father, a husband who lost his life, shielding his family simply for going to a political rally. And I was watching it live because I thought he was going to announce his VP that day. That was part of what was being said. And I immediately thought it was a shooting. And I was shocked and I was heartbroken because I fled political violence in Nicaragua. And to me, this is something that’s not supposed to happen in America, I felt the same way when I did watch in January 6th. These attacks on democracy, on America, don’t happen in this country. They happen in other places. And I’m very happy for President Biden, I’m very happy that he’s taken the opportunity to be on air now three times asking us to call on our better angels, asking us to unite, asking us to tamp down the rhetoric. I’m going to try to heed his words. Today is our day, I think and this entire time for self reflection, and a call to unity. I truly hope Donald Trump uses the platform he has to do that. And I also need to say, I hope that at some point in this country, we do have a conversation about what is happening, because we can’t just react when it is our side. What was this again? It was you know, a 20-year-old lone wolf, white whack job with easy access to a gun. And we have to have a conversation about that. Because it wasn’t a drag queen. It wasn’t an immigrant. It wasn’t a pissed off liberal woman. This is — and this keeps happening. And we need to react, not as left or right, not as Republicans or Democrats, we need to react as Americans.” BEHAR: “All right.” NAVARRO: “And we need to ask better.”

WATTERS: “Former Secret Service agent, Dan Bongino, joins me now. Is this gross incompetence or is it something even more scary that we cannot even think about?” BONGINO: “No, it’s gross incompetence. I mean, think about it. Counter-sniper teams, they train out — the Secret Service counter-sniper team, obviously there to mitigate a sniper threat, they train out to 1000 yards. So we are talking about — say it was 200 yards, it was actually less than that where this shooter was, right? You are talking about a fraction of what they are trained at. They are also trained to spot guys in gilly suits, cracked open windows. He is on a white roof in broad daylight.” WATTERS: “He’s on a white roof!” BONGINO: “Again, it would be easy for me to say, ‘Oh, well, let’s not get into Monday morning quarterbacking.’ Bro, it’s not a freakin’ football game. It’s the president of the United States’ life. The Secret Service has one job. Well, outside of counterfeiting, protection is one job. You keep the body alive no matter what. They — I mean, they came within a millimeter of this guy losing his life. I don’t understand some of the commentary that they did a great job. Well, the body guys, that response was a brave, they ran up the ramp, they didn’t know, there could’ve been 10 more shooters, no doubt. Know those guys, pretty heroic what happened there. But the security failure in the perimeter is a complete, total debacle. No one should defend this.” WATTERS: “So when you have guys — we just played the sound, when you have fans saying, ‘Hey, there’s a guy with a gun over there,’ to multiple law enforcement guys, and they still are just looking around like this, how does that happen?” BONGINO: “Well, I will tell you. I’m getting from a number of sources that people are feeding to me their information, obviously, because they want to fix it. They are concerned. I think you’re going to see a lot of whistleblowers. I am hearing there were very few, I do not want to give an exact number, but very few actual — I don’t think anyone else has reported this — actual Secret Service post standers at that site. They were temp HSI, homeland security folks, which they are great folks, I’m not knocking them, but that is not what they do specifically. We do protection and we’re trained for that. So I am hearing that. I’m also hearing that the counter sniper team, they had a problem seeing over the elevation. That is why they did not engage right away.” WATTERS: “Oh, come on.” BONGINO: “But that is not the problem. The problem — well, it’s a problem, but that’s not the real problem. The real problem is, where the hell was the aerial visual support? Why was there no helicopter? Why was there no drone? Why was there no FLIR? Why was there no thermal, forward-looking infrared? How the hell is the crowd acting as the freaking counter-surveillance operation?” WATTERS: “I know. If that’s the best you have, is random Trump supported telling police that there’s a guy with a gun, what technology are they deploying? They’re bragging about they have all this new technology. I did not see it.”

STEPHANOPOULOS: “You also received a letter from the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee that suggests your department may have quote, ‘rebuffed multiple requests from President Trump security detail to increase protective resources.’ How do you respond to that?” MAYORKAS: “That is unequivocally false assertion. We keep a very close watch on a very dynamic threat environment. The president, the former president, are commonly consistently under threat. We take every single threat seriously. We make security adjustments as are warranted. We had enhanced security for the former president beginning at least in June. We have not received any requests for additional security measures that were rebuffed. That assertion is unequivocally false.”

CABRERA: “Yeah. The image of the former president raising his fist and saying the words fight, fight, fight. President Trump saying in a new interview after this attack that he did that so the people there at that rally would know he was OK and that he meant to send a message that quote, ‘America goes on, we go forward, that we are strong.’ How do you think that action and his words, ‘Fight, fight, fight’ are received by his supporters?” ARNSDORF: “Well, you could see the — the sense of relief, whatever — because there was a — there was a long period where we couldn’t see him underneath the pile of Secret Service agents and behind the lectern. And so it was relief that to see that he was alive. And depending on where you were, you could see that there was blood on his face, but not necessarily where that came from, or the severity of that. And, you know — but there was — there was real anger in that moment also. A lot of that anger ended up getting directed at the reporters. I think, just you know, we were the ones there when people turned around. But again, it’s — I’m grateful that — that things didn’t — didn’t take a worse turn that resulted in more loss of life that day.”

CORNISH: “That’s what I appreciated, that he came out and said, ‘We’ve seen this before. We‘ve done this before. We don‘t have to do it again if we choose not to.’” Jones: “Yeah. And I think — well, first of all, I was proud of Biden. I was proud of Biden. And I was also really sad about it, because you shouldn‘t have — the president of the United States shouldn‘t have to come out and give a ‘ballots, not bullets’ address. That‘s basically what — you have the United States coming out here telling America, ‘ballots, not bullets.’ That should be pre-kindergarten. That‘s where we are. And I was proud of him taking on, and to your point, we‘ve been moving in this direction for awhile. 2011, you had Gabby Giffords shot. She survived barely. 2017, Steve Scalise, a Republican, gets shot. 2020, you have Gretchen, our governor from Michigan, almost kidnapped. January 6, maybe you hang the vice president. 2022, you‘ve got Paul Pelosi. Don‘t forget, you also had real fears about what‘s going to happen to Kavanaugh. And then also, then you get to 2024, you have himself. This is — this is an exponentially rising curve of political violence being normalized. And so, Donald Trump dodged a bullet, but he is not the only one. America dodged a bullet last night, America dodged a bullet. Because if that thing had been a quarter inch over, you would have had an assassination, and then I don‘t know how this country comes back from that because half the country would have felt that the other half of the country took their leader. And if only a small percentage of those people felt that means we‘re in a war, you’d have millions of people ready to do — to shoot back. And so, I was proud of Biden, I thought his tone was right. I hope Trump also mentions it. But this is not just yesterday. We‘ve been moving in this direction for a long time and we need a U-turn.”

UNKNOWN MALE: “Look, they’re all pointing. Yeah, someone’s up on the roof. Look. There he is right there.” UNKNOWN FEMALE: “Where?” UNKNOWN MALE: “Right there. You see him? He’s laying down. You see him?” UNKNOWN FEMALE: “Yeah, he’s laying down.” UNKNOWN MALE 2: “What’s happening?” UNKNOWN FEMALE: “There’s a man on the roof.” UNKNOWN MALE: “Yeah, look. There he is.” UNKNOWN MALE 3: “Officer. Officer.” UNKNOWN FEMALE: “He’s on the roof. Right here. He’s crawling on the roof. He’s standing up now.”

BRENNAN: “Our country has been living in a heightened threat environment for some time now. Yesterday’s assassination attempt against Mr. Trump confirmed our greatest fears. Last night we reported on inflammatory statements made by some of our elected or political leaders, and some of those who had called for calm. Mr. Trump issued a statement after his traumatic experience, and I noted that his statement did not include a call to lower the temperature. It was not meant as a critique, but rather an observation I made in the moment of that breaking news. Today, he said, that, quote, ‘In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand united.’ So, in that spirit, let’s all hope for a safe campaign for all of those involved, and the former president and his family deserve our empathy after what happened. I wish him and his family the best as he recovers from the attempt on his life. Until next week, for ‘Face the Nation,’ I’m Margaret Brennan.”

Garcia: “We can and will support our president and our vice president. So, it’s pretty overwhelming. I think what you heard from Representative Horsford, who is a great friend, is that majority black and brown communities united are behind the president. And we’re seeing that these communities are that have a lot at stake. We are oftentimes the first to have programs cut. We know the attacks Donald Trump is trying to make on immigrants and migrants. There is so much on the line this November. Our attention is on defeating Donald Trump — a con man, a criminal, a traitor, and the absolute worst person to ever be president in the history of our country. It is time to move forward and defeat Donald Trump. I am not sure how many times Joe Biden needs to say he’s in this race to win it. He’s running, he said it once, he said it twice, he continues to say. Let’s get behind our nominee Joe Biden.” CAPEHART: “I hear you, and you are saying that the caucus is united, folks are united, and yet during that call with the Hispanic caucus that the president had, Congressman Mike Levin of California urged the president to drop his election bid. What was your reaction and where do you stand? Oh, I’m sorry, Congressman Garcia, something has happened at the Trump — oh, we see Donald Trump there at a rally in Pennsylvania, you can see his face, there is blood coming from his ear. Not exactly sure what has happened, but those are Secret Service agents trying to pull Donald Trump off the stage. He is pumping his fist in the air, the crowd is chanting ‘USA! USA!’ Again, this is live — yeah, this is live from a Trump rally in Pennsylvania, in Butler, Pennsylvania. Former President Donald Trump, something happened, some kind of an attack. You can see there clearly, blood on his right ear. Secret Service is trying to push him into the SUV. Earlier, as we came on, you saw the former president pumping his fist in the air as Secret Service agents tried to get him off the stage, they have succeeded in getting him into the armored SUV. Clearly, they will be taking him away from that scene as we here at NBC News and MSNBC will do extensive reporting to find out exactly what happened. But again, we are looking — you are looking at live pictures from Butler, Pennsylvania, where a Trump rally has come to an abrupt end, after the former president was attacked. Attacker how? We are not sure how. But when we came live on air, you could see the former president in profile, blood coming from his right ear, Secret Service agents tried to take him from the stage, he pumped his fist in the air multiple times. They were able to get him off the stage, they were able to get him into the armored SUV. He had only been speaking about five minutes at that rally. And again, as we came on air, you could hear the crowd chanting ‘USA!’ as the former president pumped his fist in the air, but again, we are looking at live pictures...”

WELKER: “Republican senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina joins us now. Senator Graham, welcome back to ‘Meet the Press.’” Graham: “Thank you.” WELKER: “Well, senator, you and I have been together on many a Sunday. I wish the circumstances were different this Sunday. I know that you’re not just an ally of Former President Trump — he is one of your friends. I know you’re hoping to speak to him soon. What will your message be, once you are able to connect with the former president?” Graham: “‘I’m grateful you weren’t hurt any worse, and I love you.’ You know, we were supposed to play golf this morning at 8:30. I have talked to him three times this week. There’s a lot going on in the world. He was excited about playing golf. He thought he had something that could help my swing. I’ve had — all I can say is, he’s got five children and five grandchildren. He is a human being. There are a lot of people love this man. He is one of the most strong people I’ve ever met. He — he has an ability to absorb punishment like anybody I’ve ever met. Obviously, God is not through with President Trump, and I look forward to seeing him later this morning. I’ll let you know how he’s doing. But for the country, we probably need to do some soul-searching as a nation.” WELKER: “Well, I — I want to follow up with you on that point, Senator. I could see the emotion in your eyes, and I can hear it in your voice. Can you tell us what your initial reaction was, when you witnessed what happened, when you learned what had happened, when you understood that he came, quite frankly, within inches — if his head had turned in either direction, this could be a different conversation today, senator.” Graham: “I wish I could say I was surprised, but I’ve been worried about this for a very, very long time. You know, if he wins, democracy is not going to end. He’s not a fascist. He represents a point of view that millions share. The rhetoric is way too hot. But I was just grateful that he made it. I mean, fate stepped in, God, the hand of God, call it whatever you’d like. But let’s don’t forget, there is a man who lost his life by attending a political rally. He’s dead. His life came to end. Other people are hurt. Who to blame? Let’s blame the shooter. But let’s all try to do better. I can tell you one thing about President Trump: he is very determined to get this country back on track. And his initial reaction, after being shot, will be an iconic moment in American history. Literally bleeding from a gunshot wound, he raised his fist, ‘Don’t give up. Keep going.’”

He closes with God bless Amer and we saw him raise his hand in the air, defiantly, blood on his face a he left the stage. >> He is recovering from these injuries now. This was a traumatic event no doubt for him, but I did notice there was no call for lowering the poten, condemning all political violence, and really trying to signal to his supporters as well not to retaliate or to have any kind of escalation here. I just am looking at these statements — >> There’s a belief in his inner circle he’s under siege and being attacked at his rally. Every single text message, literally every single one from Trump sources is outraged and shocked. And so that is certainly the

STEPHANOPOULOS: “You pointed out those statements from J.D. Vance and Vivek Ramaswamy. Of course,m President Trump supporters have have contributed to this violent rhetoric as well.” RADDATZ: “Absolutely, George. We were just looking back this morning at some of the things that former President Trump has said. He warned last March of potential death and destruction if he were charged by the Manhattan district attorney, ‘Our country is being destroyed as they tell us to be peaceful.’ Trump in January warned of bedlam in the country if the criminal charges against him succeeded. And of course, in March he said, ‘Now, I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it.’ He said he was partly joking and that that was taken out of context, but those are indeed his words. And you have heard it from supporters as well, and supporters are certainly, in some parts, angry. And let’s remember January 6th. In so many ways for the campaign, January 6 will probably be in the background after yesterday’s event. This is a very difficult time for this campaign. But they just think from a strategic standpoint that pushing Biden aside in this late hour isn‘t the best strategic choice. Now there is a difference between older black voters and younger black voters. Younger black voters seem to have more of an appetite for Biden to step aside and for Harris to ascend to the top of the ticket. But there is still some discomfort in pushing him out or forcing him out. They tell me it‘s a decision that he should arrive at on his own.”
