Visitors BANNED From VLA Radio Astronomy Observatory
As I was traveling US HWY 60 from Quartzite, AZ to Amarillo, TX, I came to a site that has been on my bucket list to visit for years. #americanheartlands #astronomy #space
The facility was closed to visitors on a weekday! There was no cell service available and I had not gotten Starlink RV service yet so I was unable to look up any information about the facility or discover why it has been closed to visitors. That is why there is no dialog in this film explaining the facility or why visitors are not allowed anymore.
The dishes do move, but very slowly. I was lucky to catch one as it was repositioned but I had to speed the process up by 500% so it could be seen. Wait for it!
Before you travel to this remote place for a visit, be sure to check the official website for current information. https://science.nrao.edu/facilities/vla/

Trailer Loading - 2022 Coors Cowboy Club Ranch Rodeo | Friday
Cut two cattle out of the herd then load them along with a horse or two into a livestock trailer. But don't let those cattle back into the herd! Simple right? Not when there is a stopwatch ticking! #CCCRR #TrailerLoading #Rodeo #RanchRodeo
Fourteen working cattle ranches compete for honors at the Coors Cowboy Club Ranch Rodeo in Amarillo, Texas. Each invited ranch competes as a team and only the 12 top teams will be invited back the following year.
All the events in this rodeo reflect the type of skills used by working cowboys on cattle ranches throughout the year. The ages and experience of the team members may vary quite a bit as these are not professional rodeo cowboys.
