VICTORY: To preserve the sanctity of life, the ACLJ blocked attempts by President Biden’s Department of Justice and D.C. officials who tried to destroy evidence of a nefarious cover-up – and D.C. officials backed down. As you know, we have been involved in the pro-life movement for decades. Over the years, the fight has changed dramatically, especially since the overturning of Roe. Since then, the battle for life has been raging in the states. We are actively fighting to preserve pro-life legislation across America and fighting for the unborn at the U.S. Supreme Court. The horrific situation that we just engaged in actually began in March 2022, when the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department discovered the bodies of five pre-term babies. These children were apparently from the Washington Surgi-Clinic in Washington, D.C., which was run by the late-term abortionist Cesare Santangelo. Instead of properly investigating the children’s horrific deaths (which is what the law requires), the police assumed the children all died from legal abortions. They then neglected to conduct any medical evaluations or autopsies. However, some other doctors examined pictures of these babies and found evidence that these children were potentially murdered through illegal partial-birth abortions. In other words, a crime might have been committed. Almost two years passed, and nothing was done to investigate the death of the children. Suddenly the report came out that the DOJ advised the Medical Examiner to destroy these babies’ bodies by cremation – and the Medical Examiner agreed to comply. The bodies were to be disposed of by the end of last week. The D.C. officials had grown tired of answering questions about the babies. So they wanted to destroy the evidence of a possible crime – not to mention they showed zero respect for the right to a dignified burial for these innocent children. Rev. Patrick Mahoney (Director of the Christian Defense Coalition) contacted me about the need to stop the Medical Examiner from cremating the bodies, and the ACLJ sprang into action. We began representing Rev. Mahoney and sent a letter to the D.C. Office of the Medical Examiner. Rev. Mahoney and his wife want custody of the babies’ bodies, which is allowed for under D.C. law, so they can provide a proper burial. Our letter seeks to gain this permission. Next, the ACLJ sent a letter to Congress demanding that a full investigation be conducted into the cover-up and that the babies’ bodies be preserved. We also contacted Congressman Chip Roy (TX-21), and he is working to shed light on this atrocious cover-up. Knowing that time was running out to stop the cremation, the ACLJ prepared to file an emergency lawsuit. We contacted D.C. one final time to stop the babies’ bodies from being cremated – or we would file a lawsuit. The D.C. officials then assured us that they would not cremate the bodies. Because of our quick action, the ACLJ stopped the Biden DOJ and D.C. officials from destroying the evidence of a potential crime and from preventing a proper burial for the children. The D.C. government also indicated that they would respond to Congress’ demands. To be clear, this matter is not over, and we will continue to work to ensure that D.C. will fully investigate these babies’ deaths.

Right now, Donald Trump is facing an important deadline in his election interference debacle that could change the trajectory of the case. Lawyers for the former President have until 5 p.m. EST to file an emergency appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court that could delay his criminal trial. Special Counsel Robert Hur announced that President Biden won’t face prosecution for the classified documents probe due to his age and “poor memory.” On the other hand, President Trump’s classified documents trial is still pending. Is there a two-tier system of justice for President Biden? 3:31 First of all, this is a very sobering and serious matter affecting the Commander-in-Chief of our military. Hur’s report is very troubling and calls into question the President’s capability of leading the country based on being “an elderly man with a poor memory.” This puts the United States in a vulnerable position on the world stage. The Special Counsel didn’t believe the President was capable of displaying a “mental state of willfulness” to have illegally stored classified documents. Because of this, the probe will be dropped (another factor is that a sitting President cannot be prosecuted for a crime). President Biden, however, didn’t do himself any favors with the combative nature in which he came out and did a press conference last night. This all now raises questions regarding whether the 25th Amendment could be used to remove the President from office before his current term is complete.

All eyes are on the U.S. Supreme Court, where the Justices just heard oral arguments in the Trump ballot ban case. The ACLJ filed its final brief earlier this week in the case. Now we wait to hear the Justices’ decision. Will the U.S. Supreme Court uphold the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to ban President Trump from the primary ballot? Will the far Left’s 14th Amendment argument prevail in denying Americans the right to vote for the candidate of their choice in the 2024 election? Just to be clear, President Trump’s attorneys presented the oral arguments today. The ACLJ is part of the case but delivered its arguments in the brief that we filed. Some significant moments stood out today. First, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson (appointed by President Biden) focused on the list of officers that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment applies to. She pointed out that the 14th Amendment clearly doesn’t include the President. She also stressed the importance of the history of the 14th Amendment – it had been originally put in place to stop Confederate soldiers from attaining office because of their insurrectionist past. You know what, folks? Her analysis was spot-on and coincided with the ACLJ’s brief arguments. The ACLJ argued that the 14th Amendment is not self-executing and does not apply to a President of the United States. One chief reason is a President appoints officers – the oath that Presidents take is distinct from the oath that officers take. We also pointed out in our brief how Chief Justice John Roberts in 2010 asserted that “the people do not vote for the ’Officers of the United States.’” It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out, considering what Chief Justice Roberts said 14 years ago.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just held a press conference in Jerusalem to discuss the swirling news of a potential deal to free the remaining Israeli hostages. This news comes on the heels of the Biden Administration sending Secretary of State Antony Blinken to meet privately with Netanyahu. Though many thought a ceasefire might be imminent, Netanyahu just announced that Israel has declined any deal with Hamas. Rather, Israel will complete its mission of completely eradicating Hamas and demilitarizing Gaza. He expects that a victory will come within months. Our hearts continue to go out to the hostages still suffering at the hands of Hamas terrorists. We expect justice on behalf of Israel and the hostages’ families – Israel has no choice but to eliminate the threat of Hamas completely. Our ACLJ team is still working diligently on behalf of the hostages’ families to ensure their loved ones return home. As we told you, our European affiliate recently had a significant meeting in Spain with world leaders to garner support. We can’t stress enough the importance of the U.S. backing Israel. First, we must support Israel’s mission to eradicate Hamas because it poses a threat to the entire world.

Circuit – a panel of three judges, two of which were appointed by President Biden – has ruled that it is “unpersuaded” by President Trump’s arguments for presidential immunity for any actions he took on January 6. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (OH-4) has subpoenaed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis over her alleged improper relationship with Nathan Wade, the lead prosecutor in President Trump’s Georgia election interference case. The subpoena also requests all information related to the alleged misuse of federal funds by Willis’ legal team. Willis’s office had received millions in grants to start community programs. Yet a whistleblower accused Willis of using the federal funds to buy iPads/computers and questioned whether Wade (brought in for an eyebrow-raising $654,000) was paid with federal funds and then used them for “lavish vacations” with Willis. The whistleblower was then fired and “escorted out of her office by seven armed investigators.” Clearly, the Fulton County legal team has been tainted by the ongoing firestorm. State and federal authorities should begin looking into Willis’ misconduct and possible removal. If she were to be removed, a new prosecutor could be assigned to the case – or it could be dismissed altogether.
