Driver cuts of police car, instantly gets pulled over
While on his daily commute on 691 West in Connecticut, this driver notices that the car in front of him seems to be hugging the white line. The car then quickly signals as it changes lanes, cutting off an unmarked state police car! The cop instantly turns on the lights and pulls over the reckless driver.

Dashcam captures reckless driver
Watch this HD dashcam video of a drive through a couple of intersections. This video was made while bringing a car load of kids to an evening activity in a small town. The occupants observed this reckless driver who cut them off going through an intersection. Concerned for the children's safety, the dashcam owner gives this lunatic driver room. So while the traffic is building up ahead, the aggressive driver has no choice but to wait at the light and then once it turns green he then proceeds muscling and honking his way down the road. Where's the emergency? I am sure annoying all the other vehicles in the process. That could be construed as road rage in my opinion. At least that is how it starts. This dashcam owner has personally witnessed such road rage events in the past. So as the driver continues down the road he then blatantly runs through the next light narrowly avoiding the stopped car in front! Unbelievable, unsafe, bad driving. And on top of all that, he has a tail light out! This is why it is important to have a dashcam in the vehicle at all times. They are not expensive and range in price from maybe $25 for a cheap low resolution to hundreds for really good HD and features. This one was recorded with a Vantue R2 dashcam. Not to bad right? Had there been an accident, I am sure the crazy driver would have either took off or would have been just as aggressive confronting whoever he hit. This one was outright reckless behavior! No concern for anyone on the road. Everyone makes mistakes driving. I am sure everyone has had their own share of close calls and accidents. Please be safe out there. Watch out for kids and motorcycles too!

Queue jumper tries to muscle his way in and gets denied
This is rear view dashcam footage of traffic build up at a light. One lane to go straight and one to turn left. As traffic starts to move, a black Toyota decides his left turn only doesn't apply to him and decides to go straight.
But the big white ark in the straight lane isn't having any of it and denied this cheeky entitled menace and takes him on, making sure he does not gain entry.
You can hear the horn blow. The intimidating sound of the horn did not come from the diminutive Toyota.
As you can see, the would be left turner is denied access in front of the White car.

Inconsiderate drivers block lanes for their own convenience
Apparently these drivers are unaware that there are others that are on the road.
This is apparent as can be seen in this video of cars holding up lanes so that they can change into another.
The 1st driver actually makes a dead stop right in the lane so he can cut into the left lane. This forces cars to squeeze by him while he is nonchalantly cutting in front of others.
The 2nd car tries to jump the queue by driving in the left turn lane all the way up to the light and then stops to cut into the lane for going straight. This too forces drivers to go around him.
Sometimes this method is used to bypass queues but disregards courtesy of other vehicles on the road.
Stopping the flow of traffic so you can change lanes is not good driving.

No Left Turn, 2 cars 2 days same intersection.
This is a common occurrence at this location. For some reason people ignore the clearly marked intersection that indicates "no left turn". As you can see, the car wants to turn left but holds back an already congested lane. This is dangerous, especially for anyone attempting to go around.

Beat the traffic with this little trick
Driver takes this road everyday and traffic always builds up at this light. Things are made worse when you can't make a right turn on red because the lane is blocked by cars wanting to go straight. Sometimes this shortcut through the parking lot is in order! Just have to watch for the speed bumps. Driver figures it saved at least 6 minutes or 2-3 light cycles at this intersection that day.

Over Confident Driver Causes Own Mishap
Driver yells that it is a Yield sign and not a Stop sign and then CRASH!
Dashcam owner captures his own carelessness.
Dashboard cameras are great for capturing others but sometimes the tables are turned when the dashcam owner finds himself the subject of an embarrassing, careless accident or mishap.
That is the story here for this hapless fellow. Driving in unfamiliar territory and being over confident of one's own driving skills can be a bad mixture. As driver had just got done bragging about his clean driving record he is approaching an off ramp to a tourist attraction probably filled with others that are just as unfamiliar with the area.
The driver seemed to know the rules. As was demonstrated by his commentary while driving on the exit ramp. Again, just earlier he was boasting about his driving skills and how people should go back to driving school. Everybody is a bad driver except for him. Isn't that always the case?
So as cars slowly proceed through the intersection behind a hesitating white car, driver exclaims "It's a yield sign not a stop sign!" and "You can do it!" But then suddenly, the white car hits the brakes and bam! The dashcam driver plows right into his rear end!
Driving on a highway in unfamiliar areas can sometimes lead to confusion. Locals know the local road and out of towners usually are not familiar. So when this dashcam driver noticed cars getting off the highway in a somewhat hesitant manner, this was his clue that they were not from around here. But neither was he. Especially since this is an exit ramp to a very popular tourist destination. Additionally, this is the weekend so most likely, the drivers getting off here are mostly tourist unfamiliar with this intersection.
But as you can hear, just a few seconds before, this perfect driver was just commenting about others on the road. At this point he was verbalizing his acumen for traffic control signage. He states, "It's a yield sign not a stop sign!" and "You can do it!". No sooner than he finishes those comments, he rams into the car. And then boom, there goes his pride.
Driver seemed to be in disbelief that the event actually happened. This was demonstrated by the sound of his voice when he asks; "Did I hit him?" As if this surreal moment was happening in the Twilight Zone.
The driver of each vehicle did get out and approach each other. It turns out that there was no damage to either vehicle. With the obvious collision and loud sound of the crash, it would seem that there should have been damage but there was none. It could have been a lot worse. After a few minutes of discussion and a hand shake, each driver went on their way. Both able to drive another day.

Cars blast through out of order traffic lights caused by major storm
Are cars supposed to treat malfunctioning lights as stop signs?
What are traffic laws when a stop light is out?
This video was recorded after a major August 2020 storm in New England.
Hurricane Isaias cut power to 2.8 million homes and businesses along the East Coast and resulted in the third worst blackout in Connecticut history.
One of the issues after a major blackout is that traffic control devices are part of that blackout.
These drivers speed through the out of order stop lights as if there were green.
What happens if another driver is thinking the same thing at that intersection.
This is a good recipe for a T-bone situation.

Emergency helicopter landing in the city looks and sounds cool
We witnessed an emergency helicopter landing while waiting to pick someone up from the nearby hospital. The fist thing my young single digit daughter says is "Sometimes I feel like that's not a good thing but it looks really cool to see" then proceeds to say "open the windows dad". It was cool to see it come down and hear the loud awesome noise of the engine. I hope the passenger is ok.

Collision is avoided after car pulls onto busy highway
This is dashcam video of a near collision on a newly constructed section of highway 72 in Plainville CT. You can see a 4-door white car come from the side street on the right and cut in front of the 2-door white car. The car had to hit its breaks and maneuver out of the way. This could have been bad if not for the quick reflexes of the 2-door car. Since this is a newly build highway that was over 30 years in the planning and making, the traffic pattern is still getting some used to by commuters. The side streets along the highway in this area used to be residential housing with little to no traffic. There have been numerous accidents along this short stretch of road probably as a result of unfamiliarity or drivers still getting used to the change. It is always possible that it was inattentive or distracted driving too. There also isn't a "no turn on red" for the side street. There should be.

Impatient tailgating car cuts over 2 lanes almost hitting motorcycle.
Dashcam footage shows a car that comes right on someone's tail and is so impatient that that the driver cuts over 2 lanes and almost takes out a motorcycle. This was dangerous and careless driving that was witnessed on a CT highway on a nice late afternoon drive.
You can see the car in the left most lane come up at high speed and gets right on the tail of the car in front. Unable to go further, driver makes an attempt to pass by cutting over 2 lanes of traffic. In the process, the driver almost sideswipes the motorcycle which was coming up on the right most lane. The motorcycle seemed to be aware as he attempts to move over almost going into the breakdown lane. The reckless car continues on down the highway.

What side of the street should I drive on?
Person makes oncoming lane their own. This is the 1st day of 2019 and this is what we can expect?
You can clearly see folks making right turns to head down the road but another vehicle pulls out of a business and just heads down against what would be the flow of traffic. This person definitely does not have the right of way. This is not an area that changes lane direction during specific times like some other cities. I wonder what the cars did when they needed to make that right hand turn with that silver SUV blocking the lane. Perhaps they are straight off the plane from Great Britain? Or did they have a really really tough New Years Eve?
Distracted driving would be my guess. In this area, there are laws against cell phone use and therefore a lot of tickets handed out. Maybe this person was preoccupied with something.

Reckless road raging driver displays universal hand gesture
All seems normal looking ahead until there is some maniac that speeds by you flipping you the bird!
This road-rager seemed a little aggressive in trying to pass the dashcam owner during a merge on a Connecticut highway.
What the heck happened? Did the dashcam owner do something wrong?
That was a rather deliberate gesture as the driver speeds on by. Notice his rather larger looking tattooed arm and fat middle finger.
This gesture has universal meaning and no matter where you go, the message is usually the same. Extending the middle finger is considered a symbol of contempt in several cultures. Some cultures have similar gestures to display disrespect. For example, the 2 finger "peace" sign means something totally different depending on which way you hold your hand.
So imagine my surprise when I review the video to see what had transpired. Why was he so angry?
Well it is apparent that driver was in a lane that eventually merges as he enters another highway. You can see in the rear view camera that the other car is passing others as he heads down the right lane. He gets up behind but the dashcam driver is already in the merged lane. The aggressive driver thinks he can muscle cars out of the way. But dashcam driver is focused on driving safely and did not engage with this lunatic. He continues passing by and speeds on down the highway at speeds over the limit.
His minuscule muscles had minute affect. Dashcam driver was not intimidated.
