Darrell Brooks, the man whose antics went viral during his trial for killing six people during a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, appeared in front of a judge Monday for the start of an unrelated assault case. But unlike his court hearings in 2022, Brooks retained an attorney, who helped negotiate a plea deal on the domestic violence and witness intimidation charges. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber breaks down the accusations against Brooks, the connection to the parade massacre, and what’s next.

The trial for an Ohio man accused of murdering his three young sons has been delayed as his attorneys argue against him receiving the death penalty as a possible punishment.
