"A Storehouse For Pain" by Mike Foster of The Unknown Outlaws
A "PoPaBiLLy MuZic Song Library" original, Song #30, (c) 2/16/1992. Original Unknown Outlaw, Philip Adams, is a singer/songwriter from Garland, TX. Is a widower of Carter Family/Sister Third Generation Performer Rosey Carter-The Wildwood Rose. He says this song idea manifested when he and his other original Unknown Outlaw and friend, Mike Foster, went to check on one of their mutual close friend's widow. A month after she lost her husband, and their daughter, in a tragic car accident in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX area. It was evident when they pulled up to their house it was already in a state of array and deteriorating. It was in an affluent neighborhood, yet the grass had not been mowed, in weeks. Newspapers were all piling up in the yard. The house looked deserted. She invited them in the house. The contents of the house are described in the song. When they were making their leave and driving away, Philip commented to his co-writer on this song Mike Foster, "Man, this house is just a storehouse for pain." Mike said write that down, and then the song was written. This is a song demo performed by Mike Foster. It was later recorded by Ronnie Ray, on his CD. "All Dressed Up and No Place to Go". Ronnie Ray was lead guitar player for Charley Pride.

A Storehouse For Pain
This old house will never be the same,
The Lord called you home, there's no one to blame.
Your picture is there, on our color TV,
It doesn't matter where I sit, it looks straight at me.
No this old house, will never be the same,
Since you've gone to Heaven, It's a store house for pain.
The floor needs mopping, there's dishes in the sink,
I've got liquor in the cabinet, it hurts so much to think.
The papers in the front yard, are all piling up,
I don't read my horoscope, it's always been bad luck.
No this old house, will never be the same,
Since you've been gone to Heaven, it's a store house for pain.
