On Thursday, Russia announced it had taken down 13 Ukrainian drones aiming to attack the largest city in annexed Crimea and Moscow. Two of the drones were destroyed by air defences close to Sevastopol, the major city in Crimea, and "nine more were disrupted by electronic warfare technology and crashed into the Black Sea before reaching their destination", as per the Russian Defence Ministry. Additionally, the ministry disclosed that the drones had been planning to drop bombs on military and civilian facilities. It asserted that these attempted attacks had been foiled by “capable and professional” Russian defense personnel.
