The Hong Kong National Security Law has led to arrests and the end of any illusion of freedom in Hong Kong. Hong Kong sanctions, along with US sanctions on China as part of the Hong Kong Autonomy Act has been an attempt by the US to fight back against China. But with the Hong Kong police force essentially given free reign by Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam, and Hong Kong elections delayed for a year, things aren't looking good for Hong Kong. Joining me today is Nathan Law, a Hong Kong activist who now lives in exile in England.

Want to hear more about Hong Kong’s future? Nathan Law and other prominent thinkers on Hong Kong will be speaking Tuesday September 22 at 10am Eastern Time at the online event “Hong Kong – A Way Forward: How the free world will respond to Beijing’s Crackdown.”
