Emma: On Monday Ron DeSantis signed a law that would quote support programs that encourage involved fatherhood. so this is an anti-black piece of legislation most likely. it's just a way to launder racist rhetoric through legislation.
Matt: I mean yeah it's to culturally pathologize poor people.
Emma: and here he is speaking about the crisis of fatherhood in the country.
DeSantis: if you look over the last many decades one of the worst social trends.
Emma: Is that Tony dungy? no, it's not. okay. it's really unclear for me. I'm sorry.
DeSantis: if you look over the last many decades one of the worst social trends has been the decline of fatherhood. And we do have in many instances a fatherhood crisis in this country. The fact of the matter is when you take kids that do not have a positive present.
Emma: It is Tony Dungy. All right, start it over. yeah just control f that Tampa bay times article about him. right in there it doesn't shock me. because he's often I feel like involved in some of these like.
Matt: Didn't he have a personal tragedy or something like that? with his kid dying or something?
Emma: I don't know, yeah it's depressing that he's being used in this way. but I mean look he has agency too so start over.
