Superman The Escape from Krypton Six Flags Magic Mountain Television Commercial (1997)
Superman: Escape from Krypton (originally known as Superman: The Escape) is a steel shuttle roller coaster located at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. When it opened in 1997, it was the tallest roller coaster in the world, and its speed of 100 mph (160 km/h) was tied for the fastest with Tower of Terror II, a similar roller coaster that opened two months earlier at Dreamworld in Australia. These two coasters were the first to utilize Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) technology to propel vehicles to top speed. As of November 3, 2019, it is the only reverse freefall coaster left in operation after the closure of the Tower of Terror II.
The ride was closed in late 2010 for refurbishment, and it emerged in 2011 as "Superman: Escape from Krypton". The refurbished ride featured new trains that face backward, speeds of up to 104 mph (167 km/h), and it was painted with a new color scheme. As of 2013, Superman: Escape from Krypton has the third-tallest structure, the fifth-fastest speed, and the third-longest drop of any roller coaster in the world.
During early planning, Six Flags Magic Mountain considered building a new roller coaster named Velocetron themed to The Man of Steel comic book series. Ultimately, the name Superman: The Escape was chosen, and the ride was announced on January 5, 1996. It would surpass Desperado and Phantom's Revenge to become the fastest roller coaster in the world and the first to reach 100 mph (160 km/h).
Designed by Swiss manufacturer Intamin, and during final stages of construction, the last section of track was installed at the ride's highest point on May 3, 1996. Originally, the ride was set to open on June 1, 1996, but it was delayed due to problems with the launch system. In late 1996, there was a preview for season pass holders. After 10 months of testing and reengineering, the ride opened on March 15, 1997. After its opening, the media claimed Superman to be the fastest roller coaster in the world. However, since it was delayed, a similar roller coaster known as Tower of Terror, which also has a 100-mile-per-hour launch (160 km/h), had opened about a month earlier at Dreamworld in Australia. Superman, therefore, lost its claim as being the first roller coaster to reach 100 miles per hour (160 km/h), although it was then tied with Tower of Terror as the fastest roller coaster in the world. However, the ride became the first roller coaster in the world to go over 400 ft, therefore becoming the tallest roller coaster in the world at the time.
By early 1999, the ride remained closed for maintenance. After new brake fins were installed, one side reopened in late February. On March 22, 1999, Six Flags Magic Mountain announced that Superman: The Escape was fully operating with both sides running.
Just after the July 4 weekend of 2010, Superman: The Escape ceased operations with no reason given. A sign posted in front of the ride indicated that it would not reopen until the 2011 season, with hints that there would be improvements made to the ride experience. After Superman: The Escape's sister ride, the Tower of Terror II at Dreamworld, underwent a major refurbishment in 2010 which entailed a new vehicle that launches backward, speculation turned to the possibility of a similar modification to the Magic Mountain ride. Six Flags Magic Mountain officials quickly denied rumors that it would receive a Bizarro retheming, similar to roller coasters at other Six Flags parks.
On October 20, 2010, Six Flags Magic Mountain officially announced the refurbishment and re-theming of Superman: The Escape, in addition to the construction of two new roller coasters. As part of the refurbishment, the ride was renamed Superman: Escape from Krypton and featured new backward launching cars and a new color scheme. The upgraded ride reopened to the public on March 19, 2011.
Superman: Escape from Krypton closed again on February 5, 2012 (almost a year after the refurbishment), to prepare for the new 2012 attraction Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom. Two drop towers, also built by Intamin, were integrated into the existing sides of Superman: Escape from Krypton's structure. The ride reopened when construction was finished on July 7, 2012.
To enable the construction of the park's 2013 roller coaster, Full Throttle, Superman: Escape from Krypton was temporarily closed from December 2012. It reopened in mid-January with Six Flags Magic Mountain stating the ride may have intermittent closures as the construction of Full Throttle continued.

Universal Cinema at Universal CityWalk Hollywood - Los Angeles
Universal City, California, April 20, 2017 – Ron Meyer, Vice Chairman, NBCUniversal; Academy, Emmy, Golden Globe and BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg; Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele (Get Out); Emmy Award-nominated filmmaker Will Packer (Straight Outta Compton); Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning producer Jason Blum (Get Out); and Karen Irwin, President & COO, Universal Studios Hollywood, celebrated the grand opening of Universal CityWalk’s multi-million dollar AMC Theatre renovation to create an all-new state-of-the-art Universal Cinema.
With its proximity to the Universal Studios’ production lot and filming locations for many blockbuster movies, these award-winning filmmakers helped call “action” and shine a spotlight on the Universal Cinema as the place to “see movies where movies are made.”
“The new Universal Cinema is a spectacular place to enjoy blockbuster films and we’re thrilled to have such acclaimed filmmakers join us to commemorate the occasion,” said Karen Irwin, President & COO, Universal Studios Hollywood. “As The Entertainment Capital of L.A., we’ve entertained guests for generations, taking them behind-the-scenes of movie-making and placing them in the heart of the action with our incredible attractions, so it’s only fitting that we create the ultimate movie-going experience giving fans access to a movie theatre where they watch films in Hollywood screening rooms the same way filmmakers do.”
Universal Cinema’s top-to-bottom makeover coincides with Universal Studios Hollywood’s ambitious epic transformation to reimagine the world-class entertainment destination.
For film buffs, Universal CityWalk has long been the epicenter for fans seeking an environment that matches the excitement of their favorite blockbuster movies. Delivering modern, high-tech elegance and chic sophistication, the renovation of the split-level movie theatre offers a stylish and inviting place that captures the spirt of the glamourous movie studio—complete with screening room quality theatres and ultra-plush reclining seats.
The Director’s Lounge Cocktail Bar—an all-new upscale and stylish second-level retreat, flanked by the upper level theatres—adds a charismatic new dimension to the space for casual pre- and post- movie-going fun. Beverages served at the lounge can also be taken into the second level theatres.
Each redesigned theatre has been fully upgraded with the most technologically advanced sight and sound achievements. The Universal Cinema represents the first multiplex in the United States to incorporate Christie laser projection, Christie Vive audio sound system and Dolby ATMOS with recliner seating to deliver maximum-impact movie presentations in 18 auditoriums. The installation of new state-of-the art screens, perforated to enable 360 degree audio, complement the overall enhancements.
The recent upgrade to the IMAX theatre features IMAX’s next-generation 4K laser projection and 12-channel sound systems designed to enhance the entire movie-going experience and provide an audience with sharper, brighter, clearer and more vivid digital images than ever.
A departure from traditional movie concession stands, the completely redesigned AMC Marketplace offers movie-goers a contemporary grab-n-go, self-service experience, featuring a delectable new take on concession favorites, including specialty popcorn, gourmet foods, real fruit smoothies, café style coffees and a Coca-Cola Freestyle self-service touch screen soda fountain featuring 165 different Coca-Cola drink products.
A box office and guest services concierge is now located inside the venue, with convenient automated box office kiosks situated adjacent to the venue by the “5 Towers” outdoor concert stage. Additionally, movie-goers can enjoy $5 Movie General Parking with the purchase of a movie ticket.
Since 1993, CityWalk has boosted the city’s rhythm through a foundation built on providing memorable entertainment experiences. With a series of dramatic enhancements currently underway from the introduction of new dining experiences such as the recently opened Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, Voodoo Doughnut, and LudoBird, shopping experiences and visually aesthetic design features, CityWalk continues to resonate as one of L.A.’s most influential lifestyle centers.

Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary Celebration at Universal Studios Hollywood
Universal Studios Hollywood hosted a three-day “Jurassic Park” 25th Anniversary Celebration within the theme park on May 11-13, 2018.
Each day, fans who purchased the special event ticket were treated to a screening of Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster, “Jurassic Park,” at Universal Cinema located within Universal CityWalk Hollywood and then escorted to the lower lot (Studio Center) of the theme park for a special after-hours party that included panel discussions with surprise guests, props from the “Jurassic Park” and “Jurassic World” films, actors roaming around dressed up as characters from the films, an encounter with two raptors, exclusive themed photo ops and access to limited-edition “Jurassic Park” merchandise. All of this ahead of the release of the latest film in the franchise, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” on June 22.
Guests who attended the event on Sunday were surprised by guest panelist Jeff Goldblum, who famously portrays Dr. Ian Malcolm in the films. The panel was moderated by “Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow and also featured “Jurassic Park” raptor puppeteer John Rosengrant and “Jurassic Park” assistant director John T. Kretchmer. Later that group was joined by “Kong: Skull Island” director Jordan Vogt-Robert and “Rogue One” director Gareth Edwards to round out the discussion.
They all shared little behind-the-scenes stories about what the experience has been like making the films. Kretchmer talked about working alongside Spielberg and the famous director’s careful attention to detail and utter dedication to the project.

The Making of Back To The Future The Ride Universal Studios Florida, Hollywood, Japan Theme Parks
This video contains a segment from Douglas Trumbull's video entitled "Immersive Media - Part 3". As well as photos of the making of Back To The Future The Ride. In addition, there are some photos of the Ride Operator's manual used at Back To The Future: The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Immersive Media - Part 3:
"Simulation rides were a logical extension of early experiments in audience engagement, the Back to the Future - The Ride and RideFilm Theaters led Doug Trumbull to advance large-screen projection, refine physical, auditory and visual co-ordination, develop hemispherical domes, and create a more advanced orthogonal motion-base.
Doug observes emerging opportunities resulting from advances in modern digital cinematography, digital post-production, and digital projection. He depicts film as a constantly changing flow of pixels instead of individual frames as an applied concept in 3D film-making, eliminating many inherent problems. He suggests possibilities in virtual reality applications and his own efforts to make content indistinguishable from reality, such as his own patented retinal display technology." ~ http://douglastrumbull.com/

"Back to the Future: The Ride was a simulator ride at Universal Studios theme parks. It was based on and inspired by the Back to the Future film series and is a mini-sequel to the 1990's Back to the Future Part III. The ride was previously located at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood, where it has since been replaced by The Simpsons Ride, and at Universal Studios Japan where it will be replaced by Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem.
The ride story centered on a first-person adventure through time, in pursuit of Biff Tannen. Steven Spielberg, the executive producer of the movies, served as a creative consultant for the ride. It was the only project in the Back to the Future franchise to star Christopher Lloyd's character, Dr. Emmett L. Brown, as the lead protagonist."

Join us for this thrilling river raft adventure, based on Jurassic Park, the inspiration for the hit movie, Jurassic World, where you’ll see dinosaurs in their natural jungle habitat. And hold on tight as you narrowly escape a 50-foot T-rex as your raft makes an exhilarating 84-foot plunge to safety.
Water, Water Everywhere - 1.5 million gallons of water are used in the ride.
Ahead Of Its (Prehistoric) Time - When built, the 84-foot plunge was the largest theme park water descent ever constructed.
Opening Date: June 21, 1996
Universal Studios Hollywood brings famed director Steven Spielberg’s epic movie roaring to life with “Jurassic Park—The Ride®.” The phenomenal interactive ride thrusts guests into the living, breathing, prehistoric world of Jurassic Park, a land where stormy skies are pierced by colossal, three-dimensional, five-story dinosaurs and a world where visitors discover that they have become prey for a terrifying T-Rex. “Jurassic Park—The Ride” combines the most sophisticated state-of-the-art computer and robotic technology to create animatronic figures that are more advanced than any other ever designed.

Universal CityWalk Hollywood Fountain Court 4K UHD - Window Into The World Location D
This is a series of videos we're producing all shot at Universal CityWalk Hollywood. Similar to the Yule Log video, this gives you a view like you were actually there. This is 4K footage produced by Cow Missing Productions.
Universal Studios needed a dynamic path for people walking between the existing studio tour, cinemas and amphitheater. Jerde designed much more. Universal CityWalk redefined the urban village as an intricate weave of uses and services. Part entertainment district, part urban street life, part tourist attraction, part university, part shopping street, Universal CityWalk attracts 25,000 people daily. As a result, cinema patronage has increased by 60 percent and studio tour attendance by 15 percent. And though anticipated to be a tourist destination, Universal CityWalk has become a popular hang-out for locals, who account for 67 percent of sales. Despite the highest rents in the area, CityWalk is 98 percent leased. That's hardly surprising, given its annual sales average is more than $800 per square foot nearly three times the national average at regional malls.

About the water feature
In 1993 WET [Design] collaborated with The Jerde Partnership International Inc. to develop the Universal CityWalk water feature in Universal City. In 2016 WET renovated and enhanced two of the three features.
Chrome forms a blanket of shimmering water plumes that unfold in mid-air, pulsing in intricately choreographed patterns and chases. Composed in a radial grid expanding toward the outer reaches of City Walk’s Fountain Court, the water field further reveals programmable fog and intense color-changing light.
Interactive water plumes create varying patterns that evolve and can change abruptly. Pathways and walls emerge and disappear again. Jets pop through a layer of mist. Constant elements of surprise tease and delight the children. They run from the water, dash through the jets and try to anticipate where the next plume of water will erupt.
At night Chrome transforms into a chromatic spectacle. The water bursts with concentrated colors as it performs, evoking different moods and characters through its rhythmic choreography.
In a raised pool creating a boundary between City Walk’s Fountain Court and the restaurant beyond, delicate bubblers, lit at the source, cast a flickering light like that of a candle. Arrayed like stars across the night sky the bubblers emit the subtle sound of rippling water. A thin sheet of delicate water overflows the basin edge on the restaurant side, becoming an ever-flowing element enjoyed by patrons.

Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F) is an American lifestyle retailer that focuses on casual wear. Its headquarters are in New Albany, Ohio. The company operates two other offshoot brands: Abercrombie Kids and Hollister Co. The company operates 1,049 stores across all three brands.
Enjoy FREE self-parking [during our initial re-opening phase] and expanded outdoor seating at several restaurants, new outdoor dining areas in the heart of CityWalk and open environment shopping – all with our enhanced sanitization, temperature screening and physical distancing measures in place. Universal CityWalk restaurants will continue to provide outdoor dining services and take-out, while indoor accommodations will be temporarily halted, based on the latest Government guidance.
Select venues are open for limited operations from 12-8 PM daily. Individual venue hours may vary. Subject to change. For enhanced safety measures everyone is required to wear face-covering during their visit.

Greenhouse Gardening in 4K - Mittleider Method - Idaho

ABOUT
The Mittleider Method combines the best features of soil-based gardening and hydroponic gardening, but without the hydroponic expense! It’s a complete, easy-to-follow plan that eliminates guesswork and ensures success anywhere: an apartment patio, a city yard, a country lot, or a farm.
The method is based on maximum utilization of space, time, and resources. Crops are large because plants are close together, nourished by supplemental feedings of natural mineral nutrients (as in hydroponics), but with no special equipment.
Also, unlike hydroponics, the Mittleider Method gives plants access to the natural soil for nutrients as yet unknown or that, while not essential to plant growth, are useful in human nutrition. You can use the Mittleider Method by raising crops in either soil-beds or grow-boxes and you’ll enjoy amazing yields like never before!
Who developed this method?
Dr. Jacob R. Mittleider, a world-renowned international agricultural consultant, developed this method of gardening while conducting family garden-size agricultural training and program development in 27 different countries. The Mittleider Method is based on 55 years of study and gardening experience.
After 20 years of growing flowers and vegetables commercially, Dr. Mittleider embarked on a program of sharing his expertise with gardeners and would-be gardeners around the world. In 1964 he was asked by Loma Linda University in California to take an extended trip to study the diets of the people in developing countries. He traveled through the Middle East, Africa, India, Australia, Southeast Asia, and the South Pacific.
He found that the diseases, insects, and nutritional deficiencies were similar in all countries visited and that the agricultural problems closely resembled those in the United States. He concluded that the solution to their food problems simply required carrying out the recommendations of experts in plant nutrition and following scientific agricultural practices.
Thus he developed the Mittleider Method of gardening—an easy-to-use method that allows gardeners to raise an abundance of vegetables and other crops on almost any soil, in practically any season, in almost any climate, and virtually at any elevation.

Cirque Du Soleil KA' Theatre Spectacular - Behind The Scenes Tour - MGM Grand Hotel Casino Las Vegas
Cirque du Soleil presents Ka', Theatre Spectacular A behind the scenes tour at the MGM Grand resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/2zvdhrU
"Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 18, (2015) guests will have the unique opportunity to attend the “KÀ Theatre Spectacular,” a free open house that highlights the impressive work, inspiration and unprecedented technology used in the $165 million production. Cirque du Soleil offers visitors and locals an inside look at “KÀ” as it reveals the astounding history, background, and science behind one of the most fascinating theatrical venues in Las Vegas.
The complimentary open house takes place at the KÀ Theatre inside MGM Grand every Tuesday from 11 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Guests of all ages are welcome to attend.
For more information, call the box office at 702-891-7940." ~ http://nevadamagazine.com/
"Kà is a show by Cirque du Soleil at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kà describes the story as "the coming of age of a young man and a young woman through their encounters with love, conflict and the duality of Kà, the fire that can unite or separate, destroy or illuminate." Kà features 80 artists from around the world and is a gravity-defying production featuring a powerfully emotive soundtrack that enhances the innovative blend of acrobatic feats, Capoeira dance, puppetry, projections and martial arts.
In its review, the Los Angeles Times stated it "may well be the most lavish production in the history of Western theater. It is surely the most technologically advanced." The New York Times highly praised all the technical aspects and costumes but felt that it did not succeed in a particularly compelling story, rather it was "essentially about the kind of wild physical feats that all Cirque shows are about, their jaw-dropping effect multiplied by the huge dimensions of the theatrical space." The show has been seen by more than one million spectators since its opening in October 2004.
Created and directed by Robert Lepage, Kà began show previews on November 26, 2004, and the show premiered on February 3, 2005. Kà was the first Cirque du Soleil show to encompass a cohesive storyline. The show's title, Kà, is inspired by the ancient Egyptian belief in the "Kà," an invisible spiritual duplicate of the body that accompanies every human being throughout this life and into the next.
Kà is the first Cirque du Soleil production that deviates from the company's usual format—the production presents a more straightforward story, unlike the more abstract visuals presented by other Cirque productions. The show and the theater cost $165 million to develop.
Other milestones, rewards, and recognitions Kà has received:
Kà performs for Robert Lepage who receives the Tenth Glenn Gould Prize, 2014
Kà celebrates 4,000 shows, 2013

Shoshone Falls - Twin Falls, Idaho
"Shoshone Falls is a waterfall on the Snake River in southern Idaho, United States, located approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) northeast of the city of Twin Falls. Sometimes called the "Niagara of the West," Shoshone Falls is 212 feet (65 m) high—45 feet (14 m) higher than Niagara Falls—and flows over a rim nearly 1,000 feet (300 m) wide.
Formed by catastrophic outburst flooding during the Pleistocene ice age about 14,000 years ago, Shoshone Falls marks the historical upper limit of fish migration (including salmon) in the Snake River and was an important fishing and trading place for Native Americans. The falls were documented by Europeans as early as the 1840s; despite the isolated location, it became a tourist attraction starting in the 1860s. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Snake River was controversially diverted for irrigation of the Magic Valley, with the result that the falls no longer flow with force year-round. However, irrigation and hydroelectric power stations built on the falls were the primary contributors to early economic development in southern Idaho.
A park overlooking the waterfall is owned and operated by the City of Twin Falls. Shoshone Falls is best viewed in the spring, as diversion of the Snake River often significantly diminishes water levels in the late summer and fall. The flow over the falls ranges from over 20,000 cubic feet per second (570 m3/s) during late spring of wet years, to a minimum "scenic flow" (dam release) of 300 cubic feet per second (8.5 m3/s) in dry years." ~ wikipedia.org

A little history
The 117-year-old funicular takes passengers on a short ride between Hill Street and Grand Avenue on Bunker Hill. Originally opened in 1901, Angels Flight® — the world’s shortest railway — has given more than 100 million rides along its hillside track.
In 2017, the Angels Flight® Railway Foundation selected the Angels Flight® Development Company, LLC, a joint venture led by ACS Group, to recondition, operate, and maintain the funicular for the next 30 years. Passenger service operations, subject to occasional closures for maintenance, recommenced on August 31, 2017.
In 1901, Bunker Hill was one of the most fashionable neighborhoods in Los Angeles, and the cars, Olivet and Sinai, ferried riders up and down the steep slope between Hill and Olive Streets, adjoining the Third Street Tunnel. The beloved landmark was dismantled for “urban renewal” of the area in 1969. In the early 1990s, the Railway was refurbished and relocated half-block south from its original location, reopening adjacent to California Plaza in 1996. As short as it is (298 feet), Angels Flight® is an essential Los Angeles experience.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is a massive attraction with multiple ride systems that is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced at Walt Disney World Resort… or anywhere else in the galaxy!
Accept a Mission from the Resistance
The Resistance needs your help! Hidden in the forest outside Black Spire Outpost, the Resistance is gathering recruits for a secret mission.
With the First Order desperate to extinguish the spark of the Resistance, the mission is bound to have unexpected twists and turns. When your transport is captured by an imposing First Order Star Destroyer filled with legions of stormtroopers—and even Kylo Ren!—you’re going to need all the help you can get. Fortunately, a covert team of Resistance fighters—including Rey and BB-8—is at the ready to give you a fighting chance to escape… and a chance for the Resistance to rise.
Prepare for a thrilling, first-of-its-kind adventure!
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is an attraction at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland. The attraction—a combined trackless dark ride, walk-through, motion simulator, and drop ride system—puts guests into the middle of an altercation between the Resistance and the First Order. Featuring four interworking ride systems in conjunction with Audio-Animatronics, practical sets, projection mapping and screen-based media, Rise of the Resistance is one of the most complex and advanced attractions designed by Walt Disney Imagineering.
The ride begins with Finn explaining how to get to the escape pods. The two transports exit the loading station where they pass two other empty transports heading into the loading station, with Bek speaking to the riders through the transports' radio. They enter another room where a probe droid nearly spots them. However, when about to reach two lifts, two stormtroopers spot the guests. The stormtroopers attempt to blast at the transports, but fail as the transports escape. They enter the next room which includes two AT-ATs. The door leading out of the room closes before the transports can pass through. The stormtroopers spot the transports again and attempt to blast at them. An audio-animatronic Finn in a stormtrooper suit helps the guests as the transports split up and enter two lifts. Finn tells them to go down, but they go up instead. One of the vehicles is spotted by an AT-AT pilot and is almost blasted.
In the next room, audio-animatronic figures of Kylo Ren and General Hux are seen atop the ship's bridge discussing the situation. Suddenly, a Resistance ship fleet appears and Ren notices the transports. The riders attempt to escape, but Ren jumps down in front of them and ignites his lightsaber as the transports enter two lifts, though the doors close in front of them before he can get to them. As the lifts go down, Kylo's lightsaber suddenly cuts through the ceiling as they escape. The riders then enter a room with three cannons firing at the Resistance, which they pass under and make it into the next room where an audio-animatronic Ren uses the Force on the transports, demanding that they tell him the whereabouts of the Resistance Base. Suddenly, a hole is blasted into the wall and Ren is almost blown out into space as debris falls over him. If the animatronic of Kylo Ren is not working, an alternate ending is triggered. Ren instead appears through the windows in front of the transports in his TIE Fighter and threatens to blast them if they don't give him information on the Resistance Base. All of a sudden, a Resistance X Wing shoots down Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter and the transports escape. The transports enter the next room and enter the escape pods, where the ride turns into a motion simulator. After two other pods eject, the riders' pods undergo a sudden drop and escape back onto Batuu. The transports exit the simulator and enter the hangar, where an audio-animatronic Bek is seen in his escape pod, having just crash-landed in the base. They then enter the unload station where the ride ends.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! Disney's Hollywood Studios Walt Disney World Resort
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! is a live amusement show at Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Based on the popular and successful Indiana Jones film franchise, it includes various stunts and live reenacted scenes from the series's first film, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. It is executive produced by George Lucas and directed by Jerry Rees, with stunt coordination by Glenn Randall. As part of the show, selected audience members 18 and older are invited to participate as extras in certain scenes. The show uses various pyrotechnic devices that are incorporated into several of the stunts.
The show opened on August 25, 1989, as the first Indiana Jones attraction at a Disney park, and was put on a six-month hiatus in 2000 for refurbishing.
In 2004, the Nazi swastikas on German trucks, aircraft, and actor uniforms were removed and replaced by a stylized Greek Cross.
This is the first theme park attraction to use a computer-based show control system in conjunction with a custom made programmable logic controller system to trigger, control and sequence complex live events in real-time, controlled by the actors in many cases. All other effects are triggered by a cast member at the booth. The original control system was based on the Amiga computer with software by Richmond Sound Design Ltd (as such did the WaterWorld: A Live Sea War Spectacular show at Universal Studios Hollywood). The show is consistently upgrading its electronics and computer elements to keep it up to date. This began a trend in live stunt shows with both Walt Disney World and Universal Studios opening many more similar attractions over the next eight years.

Magic Happens Parade Disneyland Park
The time has arrived! The all-new “Magic Happens” parade debuts today at Disneyland park! Witness the stunning floats, artistic costumes, energetic musical score and of course, beloved Disney characters. This incredible daytime spectacular celebrates the awe-inspiring moments of magic that are at the heart of so many Disney stories.
“Magic Happens” features nine newly designed floats, highlighting magic from classic Walt Disney Animation Studios tales such as “The Sword in the Stone,” “Cinderella” and “Sleeping Beauty,” to more recent stories including “Frozen 2,” “Moana” and “The Princess and the Frog,” as well as Disney and Pixar’s “Coco.” The new floats were created as pieces of moving art, with their lines and aesthetic design working to tell a story along the parade route, while also evoking a sense of magic.
In addition to the stunning floats, the parade route along Main Street, U.S.A., will be filled with dynamic performers and more than two dozen Disney and Pixar characters. The parade’s costume design draws inspiration directly from modern runways, making each costume look fashion-forward, yet uniquely Disney. Many performers and characters in “Magic Happens” will don all-new costumes, specifically made for this parade.
While the music and stories seen in “Magic Happens” are rooted in iconic Disney lore, the soundtrack and choreography are heavily influenced by today’s pop culture designers, putting a contemporary spin on the classic Disney hits. “Magic Happens” features an energetic musical score and new songs, co-composed by singer-songwriter, Todrick Hall. ~ Michael Ramirez, Editorial Content Director, Disneyland Resort
By the Numbers
9 newly designed floats make their way along Main Street, U.S.A., during the parade.
2 original songs add to the musical flow of the parade: the main theme, “Magic Happens,” and a special song for the Grand Finale.
90-plus performers in vibrant costumes bring “Magic Happens” to life; more than two dozen of them are Disney and Pixar characters.
Creators of the Parade
The Disney team that created this parade includes choreographers, scenic designers, music producers, costumers and makeup artists, along with production and technical experts.
Jordan Peterson, show director for “Magic Happens,” began his Disney career as a parade performer and appeared in more than 18 parades between Walt Disney World Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort.
David Duffy, creative director for “Magic Happens,” has been with Disney Live Entertainment for nearly 30 years. He started his career as a performer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Singer-songwriter Todrick Hall co-composed the energetic musical score and new songs for the parade. Hall, who is a former cast member, began his entertainment career at Walt Disney World in Florida as a performer in “Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage.”
A Swirl of Magic – Mickey Mouse
The eclectic and artistic performers who open this stunning parade represent stylized aspects of “Disney magic,” from beauty to strength and everything in between. These “magic makers” – normally invisible to humans – are right there any time a pumpkin becomes a carriage, or a sword is plucked from a stone.
The lyrics of the opening theme song, “Magic Happens,” are printed on two of the costumes to represent the magic of music.
Costumes worn by the opening performers are inspired by many sources, including modern fashion runways, with designs that are edgy and fashion forward.
On the opening float, 300 LED lights shimmer on Mickey’s giant, magical hat.
Mickey’s magical hat is nearly 15 feet tall and more than 9 feet in diameter. This float is hand painted and textured with custom iridescent colors.
Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Chip n’ Dale join Mickey as they kick off this magical parade.

The Incredibles PSA Disneyland Resort Orange County Health Anaheim
The Disneyland Resort kicked off a public service awareness campaign across Orange County and Los Angeles County to encourage all residents to adhere to current health and safety guidelines to help protect local communities.
The campaign, “Together We Can Be Incredible,” features characters from Disney and Pixar’s “The Incredibles,” sharing tips and reminders of important health and safety measures delivered through digital billboards, radio, TV, social media content and more, rolling out over several weeks. The PSA reiterates current health and safety measures based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and appropriate government agencies, including the OC Health Care Agency (HCA).
The messages are shared by characters from “The Incredibles” including Edna Mode, Dash and Mrs. Incredible, and provide reminders to everyone to wear a face covering, wash their hands frequently and practice physical distancing measures.
“The campaign emphasizes important health and safety measures, including physical distancing, face coverings, hand washing and more, and leverages each character’s personality to bring the messages directly to our local communities in a dynamic way,” said Dr. Pamela Hymel, chief medical officer, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. “Our message is that together we can help the community if we’re all responsible and do our part.”
The Disneyland Resort is working with local businesses to help bring this campaign to a variety of local residents, with messages in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. The scope of the campaign is made possible in part by existing relationships across Orange County and Los Angeles County, including with the Los Angeles Angels, Anaheim Ducks and more. In addition, the Disneyland Resort is working with local school districts to provide tools and resources to share with students.
The Disneyland Resort has been working closely with the HCA to be in line with the HCA’s guidelines on extensive health and safety procedures implemented through the Downtown Disney District, including the recent expansion onto Buena Vista Street. Dr. Clayton Chau, county health officer and director of OC Health Care Agency, is pleased to support the campaign with the Disneyland Resort for the local communities.
“We all have a role to play in working to curb the spread of COVID-19. Disneyland has continuously shown its commitment to health and safety in Orange County for many years, and we welcome their collaboration in our continued efforts to raise awareness of and educate our communities on COVID-19 in unique and creative ways,” said Dr. Chau.

Disneyland Park, originally Disneyland, is the first of two theme parks built at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, opened on July 17, 1955. It is the only theme park designed and built to completion under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. It was originally the only attraction on the property; its official name was changed to Disneyland Park to distinguish it from the expanding complex in the 1990s. It was the first Disney theme park.
The Incredibles is a 2004 American computer-animated superhero film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Written and directed by Brad Bird, it stars the voices of Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Spencer Fox, Jason Lee, Samuel L. Jackson, and Elizabeth Peña. Set in an alternate version of the 1960s, the film follows the Parrs, a family of superheroes who hide their powers in accordance with a government mandate, and attempt to live a quiet suburban life. Mr. Incredible's desire to help people draws the entire family into a confrontation with a vengeful fan-turned-foe.
The Health Care Agency is a regional provider, charged with protecting and promoting individual, family and community health through coordination of public and private sector resources. HCA's service environment is complex, with 180 different funding sources and over 200 State and Federal mandates. The mandates under which HCA operates require the County to provide for, or to regulate, certain health services. Many also carry specific requirements for staffing, operations, claiming and record-keeping. ~ https://www.ochealthinfo.com/

Guests can now share the special joys of the holiday season in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. Whether sipping hot cocoa on a crisp, cool morning, sharing stories over a memorable meal, or finding the perfect gift for everyone on your list, the Downtown Disney District has it all.
Known for its exceptional selection of dining and shopping, the Downtown Disney District recently expanded to include the Disney Resort Backlot Premiere Shop, and beginning Nov. 19, it will extend with more Disney shopping and dining along Buena Vista Street.
Thanksgiving Treats
Beginning with Thanksgiving treats, Downtown Disney District has a variety of way to tempt the tastebuds throughout the month of November. For a limited time, the Thanksgiving Burger is available at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, while Salt & Straw offers the themed ice cream flavors of Salted Thanksgiving Turkey and Sweet Potato Casserole with maple pecans. Of course, Earl of Sandwich offers its holiday best year-round with its Holiday Turkey Sandwich, a delicious layering of turkey, cornbread stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and mayonnaise on freshly-baked artisan bread.
Holiday Sips, Eats & Sweets
The Downtown Disney District has a treat for every sweet tooth – whether it’s the Chocolate Peppermint Cheesecake Crazy Shake at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, a White Christmas Churro, or an adorable snowman macaron from Kayla’s Cake – holiday cravings are a cinch to be satisfied. The festive caramel apples and peppermint marshmallow wands at Marcelline’s Confectionery and Trolley Treats also make great gifts.
Carthay Circle Restaurant is introducing Carthay Circle Lounge – Alfresco Dining, a new outdoor dining experience featuring flavorful Mediterranean-California fare and terrific views of Buena Vista Street. At this time, this restaurant will use a mobile waitlist system throughout the day to manage the number of guests dining when the location is at capacity.
After a day of shopping, grown-ups may enjoy La Brea Bakery’s clever cocktail list featuring the Merry Manhattan, the Tinsel-Tini, a Mistletoe Margarita, the Joyful Daiquiri or a Jolly Old Fashioned that can be paired with a sandwich or entrée.
Treasured Gifts
Guests can swing into the holiday spirit by picking up a silver and gold spirit jersey, an “ugly sweater” Loungefly backpack or a new snow blower wand for wintery fun at World of Disney, Elias & Co. or Disneyland Resort Backlot Premiere Shop. There’s even more Disney to love and to choose from at The Disney Dress Shop, Disney Home and Julius Katz & Sons. Together, these stores offer the ultimate in Disney shopping for toys, apparel, souvenirs, home décor and holiday collections.
Rinse Bath & Body Co. offers Spiced Cranberry handcrafted soaps and lotion sticks, giving the scent of mulled spices, made with ingredients that are soothing to winter skin. Their entire selection of natural products is perfect for stocking stuffers.
At Pandora, guests can build their own bracelet with charms that make a statement, hand-finished in sterling silver. Pandora has limited-edition gift sets for the holidays including three themed Cinderella charms with magical motifs, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Walt Disney’s animated classic.
Other unique boutiques such as California Sole, Curl Surf, Sunglass Icon, Sephora, Sugarboo & Co. and The LEGO Store offer the ideal gift for every member of the family.
Before visiting the Downtown Disney District, guests should visit Disneyland.com/DTD to learn important information about updated experiences and other details including health and safety measures such as the requirement of temperature checks for all guests, ages 2 and older, to wear an appropriate face covering.
The number of guests visiting the Downtown Disney District and its shopping and dining locations is limited to promote physical distancing. At some locations, including the World of Disney store, Marceline’s Confectionery, Buena Vista Street and Carthay Circle Lounge – Alfresco Dining at Carthay Circle Restaurant, a mobile waitlist system may be used at times to manage the number of guests when the location and/or queue are at capacity. Guests can choose to provide their name and mobile number to receive a text message when they are able to return.* Disney California Adventure park is currently closed.

ABOUT
The Disneyland Resort, commonly known as Disneyland, is an entertainment resort in Anaheim, California. It is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company through its Parks, Experiences and Products division and is home to two theme parks (Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure), three hotels, and a shopping, dining, and entertainment district known as Downtown Disney.
The resort was developed by Walt Disney in the 1950s. When it opened to guests on July 17, 1955, the property consisted of Disneyland, its 100-acre parking lot (which had 15,167 spaces), and the Disneyland Hotel, owned and operated by Disney's business partner Jack Wrather. After the success with the multi-park, multi-hotel business model at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, Disney acquired large parcels of land adjacent to Disneyland to apply the same business model in Anaheim.
During the expansion, the property was named the Disneyland Resort to encompass the entire complex, while the original theme park was named Disneyland Park. The company purchased the Disneyland Hotel from the Wrather Company and the Pan Pacific Hotel from the Tokyu Group. The Pan Pacific Hotel became Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel in 2000. In 2001 the property saw the addition of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, a second theme park, named Disney California Adventure, and the Downtown Disney shopping, dining, and entertainment district.
