Everything that is happening on the battlefield right now signals the ‘incoming cosmic humiliation of NATO’, special correspondent at Asia Times and columnist at The Cradle, Pepe Escobar told RT. The desperation within the bloc ‘is clear and palpable and becoming horribly dangerous,’ he added.

IDF admits some strikes against civilians as ‘tragic mistakes’ | Will anyone be held accountable?
Since the beginning of the Gaza war in October, thousands of people have died in the Israeli onslaught on the enclave.
Israel has been quick to admit its guilt in some of the attacks, but frequently dismisses them as 'tragic mistakes.' Sounds more like – oops, we killed wrong people…

West has been orchestrating Kiev strikes on Russia for a long time – Moscow
‘Some are talking about allowing the Kiev regime to carry out strikes on Russian territory, some Western countries say that they will see whether or not to allow it, some are saying that they are not allowing it yet. It’s all rubbish,’ – the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova has said.
‘It’s not that they are allowing it, they’ve been orchestrating all these strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation by the hands of the Kiev regime for a long time,’ – she added.

‘This was a rigged, disgraceful trial’ – Trump
‘This was a rigged, disgraceful trial. The real verdict will be on November 5, by the people,’ - former US president and current presidential candidate Donald Trump told reporters after being found guilty on all 34 counts in a ‘hush money trial.
‘It’s ok, I’m fighting for our country, I’m fighting for our constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now,’ – he added.

Chinese workers left hanging off skyscraper during storm
A sudden, violent storm in China’s capital Beijing was powerful enough to knock people clean off their feet… and knock several maintenance workers off the side of a skyscraper. The workers were cleaning the many, many windows of the China Central Television (CCTV) Headquarters – the avant-garde skyscraper that looks like the kind of building Escher would have nightmares about. So will the workers now, after falling off the most precarious point: the signature overhang, 162m above ground.
Their harnesses held, thankfully, but that left them dangling and swinging under the 40th floor, much to the horror of downtown Beijing’s residents (the ones that weren’t being blown away themselves, that is). Slowly, carefully and windily they were able to lower themselves down to the relative safety of the ground, unharmed but probably needing a change of underpants. It is unclear whether they were able to finish cleaning the windows.

Several dead after fireworks explosion in India
A devastating fireworks explosion has killed at least three people and injured more than 30 more after a festival in Puri, Odisha went horribly wrong. Hundreds of devotees were celebrating the annual Chandan Yatra festival at the Lord Jagannath temple with the traditional firework display when a freak, stray ‘splinter’ fell onto the pile of fireworks, igniting them all at once. The huge explosion saw people diving into the Narendra Pushkarinee (the temple reservoir) to escape the fire and out-of-control fireworks shooting directly into the crowd.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the state would bear all medical expenses to treat those injured in the tragedy. Puri Superintendent of Police Pinak Mishra said that ‘our priority is to provide treatment to the injured and then we will look into the other matters.’

Mexican mayoral candidate shot and killed
A politician in Mexico’s Guerrero state has been fatally shot during a campaign rally. Alfredo Cabrera was meeting with voters in the town of Coyuca de Benitez on Wednesday, when an unknown person approached him and shot him several times at point blank range. The gunman was reportedly killed at the scene.
Cabrera was part of a coalition supporting Xochitl Galvez, a businesswoman currently polling second in the country’s presidential race. His death is the latest in a spate of murders plaguing Mexican elections, with the government reporting on Tuesday that at least 22 people running for local office had been murdered since last September.
Security is set to be ramped up ahead of Sunday’s local and national elections, with around 27,000 soldiers and National Guard members to be deployed on polling day.
