Staying Safe during Covid part 3: Hydroxychloroquine
Hydroxychloroquine is a medication that has been on the market for 60 years. It is commonly used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and malaria. It is very safe as some patients take it for over 20 years. It is used in young children, elderly patients, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Hydroxychloroquine has been used to treat Covid-19 in many countries in the world. It has been found to be most effective when used for prevention and early treatment.
Even though government health experts and World Health Organization still do not recommend it, it has been used extensively and very successfully in other countries as well as by many medical doctors.
