2 Vehicle Accident Hospitalizes Drivers, CORRIGAN, January 31, 2021 - At approximately 1:48 pm on January 31, 2021, a black 2013 Toyota Venza, driven by Tanya Robertson, 56, Seabrook, was south-bound on US-59 when suddenly she T-boned a black 2013 Toyota Camry, driven by Rodney James Wooten, 43, of Missouri City. Wooten was north-bound on 59, and according to witnesses, was driving erratically at a high rate of speed. Wooten's vehicle left the north-bound lanes to the left, crossed the median and struck the outside of the guardrail on the south-bound side (the wrong side of the guardrail). The impact pushed the guardrail out across both lanes of 59 South. Wooten's vehicle then continued across the south-bound lanes of traffic when he was T-boned by Robertson's south-bound vehicle. Both vehicles left the pavement to the right side of the south-bound lanes as they came to rest in the grass. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department and Officers Johnathan Gomez, Terry Valka, and Jason Porter with Corrigan Police Department. Additionally, local Troopers assisted at the scene. Both Robertson and Wooten were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Traffic on the south-bound side of 59 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Wooten is facing a citation for failure to control speed and likely other citations. Robertson's vehicle was recovered by Riley Wrecker Service and Wooten's vehicle was recovered by Clifton Chevrolet (both out of Corrigan).
