REAL GERMAN CURRY SAUCE!

When I was in the Army, stationed in Berlin, Germany, there was a German Street Food stand just outside the fenced compound. McNair Barracks, Company A, 2 battalion, 6th infantry brigade. The curry stand was quite simple, it was a plywood shack and a very nice elderly German couple were the owners. When I look back on it, there were so many GIs that would go there for food. I would always get a hamburger. They would cook the patty until it was crispy around the edges, then they'd put it on a large sesame seed bun, a slice of cheese, and curry sauce. That was it. Along side crispy french fries with real mayonnaise on the side (just try it), and a Florida Boy orange juice and I was a content, happy camper. I'll never forget those curry burgers from the Curry Stand. They were so good. Fast forward 37 years and I was in Fredericksburg last week with my wife. We went to a German Restaurant and had knockwurst sausage with curry sauce. When I tasted the curry sauce, it all came back to me. So, I did the research and found out that it's quite easy to make real deal German Curry Sauce. Curry Sauce is not very old, it was invented by Greta Hewer in Berlin in 1949 utilizing ketchup.
