Protestors Compare Campus Riots to 1968 Movement but Americans Aren't Buying It: Many leftists are taking to Twitter to compare this latest crop of college protests to the demonstrations from 1968. Those crises hit home. I come from a family who lost a son in the Vietnam War. My Uncle was Major Kenneth Paul Tanner killed in action in Vietnam. I still see remnants of the effects to my family up until this present day. My Mom still can barely talk about him without crying and recalling the Army officers pulling up to their home to inform them of his death when she was barely 16 years old. The draft terrified American families. People were angry about segregation. It was an unfair practice. It was also hurting American citizens directly. People are more likely to tolerate protests against what they perceive as suffering against their fellow citizens. Today's campus protests don't share those characteristics.

These protests are asking American citizens to tolerate missing once in a lifetime events and disrupting their day over a group of people an ocean away who continue to elect a government headed by terrorists. Americans either stand with Israel or they recognize disputes in the Middle East are a tale as old as time and robbing their kid of graduation or blocking the road when they go to work is not going to solve it.
