Search Underway for Robbery Convict Who Escaped Des Moines Correctional Facility

DES MOINES, Iowa - Law enforcement officials are currently on the lookout for an inmate who did not return as required to the Fort Des Moines Correctional Facility.

Ariante Williams, 27, who has a conviction for 2nd degree robbery in Polk County, failed to report back to the correctional facility on Sunday as mandated, according to the Iowa Department of Corrections.

Williams is identified as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 258 pounds.
