In this video I discuss exactly how I make hot chili oil. This is one of my favorite condiments for food and it goes great with just about anything. This recipe will taste best and be hottest if you use homegrown peppers. For this recipe you can use whatever peppers you like as long as they are not bell peppers and the varieties of peppers that have little to not heat. I would suggest using habanero's as a starting point. You will also want to use avocado oil for this recipe. Never use canola oil or coconut oil. Canola oil is unhealthy and coconut oil will make your peppers taste a tad too tropical lol. Take 2-4 handfuls or more of de stemmed habanero's and throw them into a blender. Pulse until you have a pulp of sorts. Make sure to not blend it into a paste as you want it to be slightly chunky. Becareful and do not open the blender indoors. It will make you cough and sneeze for upwards of 20 minutes. Go outside, open the lid, let it air out for a minute and bring it back in. Take your pulp and add it to a small to medium saucepan. Cover with avocado oil by at least 1/2 inch. Add salt and bring too a light boil. Once boiling cover your peppers and place on low. Proceed to cook for 1 and 1/2 hours. Let cook and store in a glass mason jar, never plastic. This will last in the fridge for a very long time and is one of the greatest ways to use peppers, especially homegrown peppers before they go bad.
