Israeli troops fight with Hamas terrorists in Shejaia, Gaza

ISRAEL has released shocking footage of one of the war's bloodiest battles where ten soldiers died in a "double-tap" ambush by Hamas.

The terrorists lured IDF soldiers into a trap and then attacked a rescue force sent in to save those who were feared kidnapped.

Nine Israeli troops and a hero commander were killed in the horror attack.

Rescuers were blown up by explosives and remaining survivors were cut down in a hail of bullets.

One of the victims, Commander Tomer Grinberg, just 35, had rescued 10-month-old twins from a kibbutz massacre after their parents were killed by Hamas.

Three of the soldiers who died were just 19.

Seven of the Golani Brigade troops were killed in the Shujaiyeh area of northern Gaza along with two rescue operatives.

The last soldier died in a separate battle also in northern Gaza and four were seriously injured.

It saw Israel's worst losses in a single incident since the beginning of its ground invasion into Gaza.

Video shared by the IDF shows soldiers shooting from behind rough structures in the war-torn strip.

They can be seen firing as explosions are set off in front of them and tanks roll over the dirt.

The troops are then filmed running through piles of debris before ending up inside a dark building.

Hamas terrorists reportedly fired initially at the Golani troops who were operating in the area.

IDF troops then approached a building where they were fired at, before an explosive charge and grenades were launched.

Fears were sparked that four injured soldiers who were unable to communicate had been abducted to the tunnels.

When the rescue team arrived to extract them, they were met with the second prong of Hamas' brutal ambush.

And a third group even faced battle as they desperately tried to find the stranded soldiers.

It wasn't until the soldiers were rescued with air support and other teams on the ground that the battle ended.

More than two months after Hamas' October 7 massacre on Israel, the battle in Gaza continues.

The terror group has even threatened to carry out a "worse and greater" terror attack on Israel than the brutal October ambush which claimed the lives of 1,200 Israelis.

Israel's defence minister claimed this week that they have encircled Hamas' last strongholds in northern Gaza as they hunt down the group.

Yahya Sinwar's terror army is reportedly outnumbered by the IDF and PM Netanyahu also said they have been surrendering.

More than 18,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed so far - Gaza’s Hamas-controlled Health Ministry claims.

Israel disputes these figures - and US President Joe Biden previously said he had “no confidence” in them.

But Benjamin Netanyahu admitted Israel has "not been successful” in reducing civilian casualties.
