You may believe you’re taking natural vitamins, but hardly anyone knows the vitamin industry’s dirty little secret — about ninety percent of vitamins are synthetic, not natural.

Synthetic vitamins often are made from petroleum. Or, in the case of vitamin C, from cornstarch and sulfuric acid. When they’re combined, they produce ascorbic acid, which manufacturers then pass off as vitamin C. But ascorbic acid is just one small piece of the entire vitamin C complex, and people who take it simply can’t get the results they would if they were truly taking the full vitamin C complex.

In fact, you can unwittingly cause the very problems you’re trying to prevent by taking vitamin C, because the active ingredient bioflavonoid is missing from the synthetic vitamin. Vitamin C never comes in nature as only ascorbic acid. Drug companies supply most of the raw materials to vitamin manufacturers, so it’s a big business.

To get the full vitamin C compound, get it from food or food concentrates. This is why I don’t sell a multivitamin or vitamin C supplements. It defeats the purpose of eating healthy. Even for me! Years ago I was searching for a vitamin supplement solution to my fatigue and poor health, while eating a poor diet. It didn’t work! When you try to improve your health by taking vitamins on top of a bad diet, you won’t get the results you want.

Instead, I want you to consume real, whole food. Give up processed food. Although taking a supplement can partially remedy a deficiency, you first have to find out what you’re deficient in. That can be difficult. As well, you need deep knowledge about how your body works.

Instead, eat a healthy diet to ensure you get a range of vitamins and that you can absorb them properly. Of course, I strongly recommend the keto diet plus natural vitamins if you decide you need to supplement it.
