Senate President, House Speaker Call on Governor to Sign Inflation Relief Bill for Struggling Arizonans
PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Members of the media are invited to join Republican lawmakers from both the Arizona State Senate and the House of Representatives at a press conference to call on Governor Hobbs to support inflation relief for the hard-working citizens of our state who are struggling to make ends meet in the face of historic inflation.
SB 1184/ HB 2067 (municipal tax exemption; residential leases), sponsored by Senator Steve Kaiser and Representative Neal Carter, would eliminate the rental tax tenants are paying with each monthly bill. This tax can range anywhere from $20 to a couple-hundred-dollars each month, which is money the people of Arizona could use to pay a medical bill, purchase food, buy gas and the other necessities many are struggling to afford.
Both bill sponsors will be available to discuss this proposed legislation, as well as Senate President Warren Petersen and House Speaker Ben Toma.
