Authorities said first responders were focused on downed power lines and trees as a winter storm continued to batter Austin, Texas, on Wednesday, February 1st. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued multiple weather advisories for the region and said power outages and tree damage would become more likely due to increasing ice. Austin Energy reported that thousands of customers were left without power and said extreme winter weather through February 3 would cause local outages.
