There are NO flights to this Indonesian airport! 🇮🇩

Did you know there are no flights to this is 200 million dollar Indonesian airport? Kertajati International Airport was completed in 2018 but has seen very limited flights since it’s start, with only a few airlines trying to open routes to and from the airport that is located basically in the middle of the rice paddies roughly west of the city of Cirebon, or some 70 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital of Bandung.

In 2019 airlines were forced to move some of their operations from the city airport in Bandung to Kertajati, but without any proper means of transport (no train or toll road connections) airlines opted not to fly. It didn’t take long for flights to and from Bandung to be reinstated.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, this airport has seen only a dozen or so flights, charter flights to bring those going on pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. And that was in November 2022. Since then, operations have seized again. There are also no freight flights, as there are no proper facilities for those either.
