As per the confirmation of multiple sources to the Thai national news agency, Thai Government has been pressurized by the Chinese Government through its Bangkok embassy at the height of the Coronavirus pandemic to resist from criticizing the Sinovac vaccine.
A Chinese company has developed the Sinovac vaccine which has reports of reducing fatalities in large sample sizes however, is also not as effective as expected like the licensed and western manufactured vaccines regarding prevention of infections.
As a result of such low effectiveness, the public had criticized the insistence of the Thai government to solely rely on the Sinovac vaccine and other locally-manufactured vaccine like AstraZeneca in the beginning phases of the pandemic.
