He believes it's digital gold
Many people have heard of Bitcoin and have wondered if they should invest in it. But as Bitcoin prices surged this week, the former CEO of Kitco, Kevin O'Leary, reversed his position and now believes cryptocurrency is digital gold. O'Leary has also expressed respect for the technology behind Bitcoin and Ethereum. Both currencies are regulated in the U.S., and O'Leary says regulation is inevitable in the cryptocurrency space.
He backs regulation
President Biden is supporting the new executive order to regulate cryptocurrency. It's the first whole-government approach to cryptocurrency regulation, and it focuses on six key areas: consumer protection, financial stability, financial inclusion, and responsible innovation. While the order isn't legally binding, it is a welcome step in the right direction. Many people are skeptical of cryptocurrency, but Biden's support for the industry is welcome news.
He sees it as a nascent industry

He even addresses the issue of financial institutions not investing in crypto directly.

In a video interview, O'Leary explains the process in seven minutes. He also explained how the process of mining works, including what he looks for in an operating environment.
