Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/12/perdomo-30th-anniversary-box-pressed.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
Perdomo has begun shipping its trio of 30th Anniversary cigars to a select group of retailers, debuting the lines with about 75 retailers across the country before likely expanding it to more stores in the future. A company representative told halfwheel that the cigars are set to arrive at those retailers this Friday, Nov. 17.
The cigars made their debut at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show this past July in celebration of Nick and Janine Perdomo marking three decades in the cigar business, a milestone that was reached in 2022. What is now known as Perdomo Cigars dates back to August 1992 and an upstart cigar operation called Nick’s Cigar Co., based out of Miami. In those three-plus decades, the company was renamed to Perdomo Cigars and built an impressive factory in Nicaragua that not only produces cigars but makes its own boxes. The company also grows a significant amount of the tobacco used in its cigars.
Nick Perdomo Jr. previously said that the 30th Anniversary “encapsulates not only the essence of our team’s dedication to the finest quality and craftsmanship, but it also represents our longstanding commitment to our cherished patrons.”
As with many Perdomo lines, the 30th Anniversary is being released in three blend options, one using an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, another using a Nicaraguan maduro wrapper, and the third using a Nicaraguan sungrown leaf. All three use a Nicaraguan binder and filler and are offered in five sizes.
The Nicaraguan maduro leaf used on the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Box-Pressed Maduro gives this version a “bold, sweet complexity with slight hints of dark cocoa and coffee on the finish,” according to the company.
Perdomo 30th Anniversary Box-Pressed Maduro Robusto (5 x 54) — $12 (Box of 30, $360)
Perdomo 30th Anniversary Box-Pressed Maduro Epicure (6 x 54) — $12.50 (Box of 30, $375) REVIEWED TODAY
Perdomo 30th Anniversary Box-Pressed Maduro Churchill ((7 x 54) — $13 (Box of 30, $390)
Perdomo 30th Anniversary Box-Pressed Maduro Gordo (6 x 60) — $13.50 (Box of 30, $405)
Perdomo 30th Anniversary Box-Pressed Maduro Torpedo (7 x 54) — $14 (Box of 30, $420)
All three versions of the Perdomo 30th Anniversary are made at the company’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua and are being added as regular production lines to the company’s portfolio, though the company has said that they come with limited availability to ensure that it can supply its retailers with the cigars.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/12/foundation-metapa-claro-robusto-5-x-50.html
(Description taken from Cigar-coop.com website)
At the 2023 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Foundation Cigar Company launched Metapa. This is a two-blend line that pays homage to renowned Nicaragua poet Rubén Darío. This is the first widespread release by Foundation to feature a Sumatra wrapper.
Metapa is the birthplace in Nicaragua of Darío. Today Metapa is known as Ciudad Dario. The name “Metapa” is derived from the Nahuatl word “metl,” which means “place of magueys (a type of agave plant).” The maguey plant has significant cultural and religious symbolism in Central American mythology and art. This was used often in Dario’s poems.
“Metapa is a tribute to the poetic soul of Nicaragua,” said Nicholas Melillo, founder, and Master Blender of Foundation Cigar Company. “The image of Rubén Darío is iconic; he is considered one of the greatest poets in the Spanish language. I have always wanted to make a brand in his honor, and I have always wanted to introduce a blend around Sumatra Ecuador wrapper. Metapa is the result.”
Like 2022’s Olmec release, Metapa is being released in a Claro and Maduro Ecuadorian Sumatra. The remainder of the blend features a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and fillers from Nicaragua. The cigar is available in the same four sizes for both the Claro and Maduro blends: Corona Gorda (SRP $14.50/cigar), Robusto (SRP $15.50/cigar), Toro (SRP $16.50/cigar), and Double Corona (SRP $18.00). AJ Fernandez is handling production.
This blend is unique and unlike anything I have ever created,” says Melillo. “The CT Broadleaf binder adds a bit of sweetness, Nicaragua filler the body and strength, and the wrapper is the icing on the cake.”

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/11/viaje-full-moon-2023-5-x-58.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
The Full Moon debuted in 2013, offered in a 5 x 58 petit gordo vitola and presented in an elaborate, circular packaging designed to look like a full moon, finished off by a bright orange jack-o-lantern on the lid. The company has since streamlined the packaging to more traditional boxes while retaining the jack-o-lantern imagery. Since its debut, the line has seen several releases, with its most recent release coming in 2021, as it was not released in 2022.
As for the blend, the original Full Moon is a Nicaraguan puro, with a corojo 99 wrapper leaf. In 2015, the line added an Edición Limitada version, swapping out the corojo wrapper for a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper, with that version released in significantly lower quantities.
The company has thus far not disclosed how many cigars are being made for this year’s release or what they will be priced at, though recent releases have been around $12 per cigar. It has confirmed that the cigars are being made in Nicaragua, but did not disclose the factory.

(Description taken from Cigar-coop.com website)
At the 2023 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Warped Cigars made available its third production run of its Black Honey line. Warped Cigars returned to the PCA Trade Show after a one year absence.
Black Honey is essentially a mashup between the company’s first two blends out of El Titan de Bronze, El Oso and La Colmena. Black Honey would take the Habano Oscuro wrapper found on El Oso and place it on a tweaked blend of La Colmena. The cigar was first released in 2015 and was limited to 60 bundles of ten cigars (600 cigars total). A second production run would take place in 2017. The 2023 marks the first time in six years Black Honey has been released.
In addition to the Ecuadorian Oscuro wrapper, the cigar features dual Ecuadorian binders and a combination of fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. As in the past, Black Honey is only being produced in a 5 x 48 Belicoso. It will be available in ten-count boxes. Pricing for Warped Black Honey is set at $22.00 per cigar. The cigar was priced at $16.50 back in 2017. Warped Cigars has said not to expect another release of the Black Honey for a minimum of six years.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/11/papasaka-by-dunbarton-tobacco-trust-5.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
In 2021, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust was one of a number of companies that produced limited-edition cigars for the 50th anniversary of retailer JR Cigar. Dunbarton’s cigar was called the Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Limited Edition “EM” Maduro, wearing a black and pewter version of the Mi Querida band, and it quickly became known that the cigar would be a preview of a new line called Mi Querida Black.
That Mi Querida Black would debut at the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show and then began shipping to stores in early September. It was released in the same 7 1/4 x 54 vitola as the JR Cigar release, but now called the Mi Querida Black SakaKhan.
The blend features a U.S.-grown Connecticut broadleaf No.1 dark wrapper, while the binder is a Mexican San Andrés Negro leaf, and the fillers come from the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Nicaragua. It is billed as being a robust and rich blend by the company.
For its second size, Steve Saka, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust’s founder, created a 5 5/8 x 48 corona that he dubbed the PapaSaka, which began shipping to stores following the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show where it was part of several new releases from the company.
It’s also a limited production release, with Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust saying that there will only be 3,500 boxes of 10 cigars produced for 2023.
The Mi Querida Black line is produced by Nicaragua American Cigars S.A., often referred to as NACSA, which is led by Raul Disla.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/11/hvc-black-friday-2023-4-12-x-56-petit.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
For the 10th edition of its Black Friday series of limited edition cigars, HVC Cigars is releasing its thickest Black Friday cigar to date.
The HVC Black Friday 2023 is a 4 1/2 x 56 petit gordo that uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua. The company says those Nicaraguan tobaccos are visos and secos—meaning the tobaccos come from the lower two-thirds of a plant—from Jalapa.
Each cigar will have an MSRP of $9.80 per cigar and production is limited to 600 boxes of 50 cigars.
Black Friday is created for the American shopping holiday that takes place the day after Thanksgiving; this year’s Black Friday will take place on Nov. 24. As such, the company will ship the cigars to stores later this month so that they are on shelves ahead of the holiday.
The HVC Black Friday 2023 is made at the company’s factory in Nicaragua, Fábrica de Tabacos HVC S.A. de Reinier Lorenzo.

(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
A year after the original version made its first appearance, Ozgener Family Cigars will show off a new Pi Synesthesia at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show.
The new version is Pi Synesthesia Red, a 6 x 52 toro that uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua. While the original version was made at Tabacalera Pichardo in Nicaragua, the Pi Synesthesia Red will be made by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr.’s Tabacalera La Alianza S.A factory in the Dominican Republic.
Each cigar will have an MSRP of $15, and production is limited to 2,500 boxes of 12 cigars. It is expected to begin shipping in September.
According to a story posted by Cigar Aficionado, Tim Ozgener—founder of Ozgener Family Cigars—wants the cigar to taste like the color red, i.e. spices or peppery things. In an email to halfwheel, Ozgener confirmed the accuracy of the story.
While the two cigars share a similar-looking main band, the secondary bands differ. The original version used a yellow ribbon near the foot; the new cigar uses a red ribbon.
The Pi Synesthesia part of the name references an art series created by the late Cano Ozgener, the father of Tim Ozgener. Cano Ozgener is best known to cigar smokers as the founder of CAO, but after selling CAO, he created OZ Arts, a Nashville-based art institute that occupies the old CAO headquarters. In addition to his work at OZ Arts, Ozgener was a prolific painter.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/11/joya-de-nicaragua-cinco-de-cinco-toro-6.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
Joya de Nicaragua is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year, and the company has created a new cigar line called Cinco de Cinco that was inspired by the hundreds of blending records gathered during private blending sessions so that the company’s master blenders could build what it calls “the perfect scoring recipe.”
That blend features tobacco that the company describes as being “ultra-vintage,” starting with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, while the binder and fillers come from Nicaragua. The company calls it a five-out-of-five in profile and complexity, full-bodied and medium strength with hints of cocoa and dark chocolate.
“This cigar was made with the people, by the people and for the people,” said Juan Ignacio Martinez, executive vp of Joya de Nicaragua, in a press release. “Our past is all about tobacco. Our bright future is all about tobacco. We are here, stronger than ever thanks to our wonderful community of amigos.”
The line is being offered in five semi-box pressed vitolas, though not all of the sizes will be available everywhere Joya de Nicaragua cigars are sold. Three of the vitolas—the corona extra, the toro, and the robusto gordo—will be available in the U.S., while the corona doble and robusto will be exclusives for non-U.S. markets.
Joya de Nicaragua Cinco de Cinco Corona Doble (7 x 54) — $21 (Box of 10, $210)
Joya de Nicaragua Cinco de Cinco Corona Extra (6 1/4 x 46) — $16 (Box of 10, $160)
Joya de Nicaragua Cinco de Cinco Toro (6 x 52) — $20 (Box of 10, $200) REVIEWED TODAY
Joya de Nicaragua Cinco de Cinco Robusto Gordo (5 1/2 x 54) — $18 (Box of 10, $180)
Joya de Nicaragua Cinco de Cinco Robusto (5 x 50) — $16 (Box of 10, $160)
The cigars come in packaging that utilizes an emerald green color, selected because emeralds symbolize love, wisdom, growth and prosperity, Martinez said in a press release, adding that those are values very much embodied in the blend.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/10/room101-big-payback-70-7-x-70.html
(Description provided by Forged Cigar Co.)
Room101 is bringing back the Big Payback in a big way with the highly-anticipated return of the line’s 70-ring gauge option. The format has been out of production since 2016.
The Payback brand was created by Matt Booth to repay consumers for their years of support with a premium offering at a monster value price point.
Matt Booth said, “It has been my life’s mission to produce a combustible vessel so engorged and far more magnificent than its standard counterpart in cylindrical presentation, and it’s my greatest honor to offer our people such a product that overflows with both girth and grandeur.”
Room101 Big Payback 70s are handcrafted in Honduras at HATSA and are, according to Booth, “engorged with premium tobaccos reaching a diameter that only you can handle with a price point that won’t handle you.”
Big Payback 70s are made with a blend of Nicaraguan, Honduran and Dominican filler tobaccos, a US-grown Connecticut Broadleaf binder and are wrapped in Honduran Olancho San Agustin. The cigar is medium plus-body, with spice notes, a great retrohale and a clean finish.
Room101 Big Payback 70 measures 7”x 70 and will sell for an SRP of $8.99 per cigar. The hefty smokes are double-banded, come in boxes of 30 and will be a full-time addition to the Big Payback line.
Room101 Big Payback is distributed by Forged Cigar Company.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/10/muestra-de-saka-krakatoa-6-x-48-corona.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
The new cigar is the Muestra de Saka Krakatoa, a 6 x 48 corona gorda named for Krakatau, a volcano in Indonesia that is regarded as having the second-most deadly eruption in history, killing approximately 60,000 people in 1883.
The blend uses a grade A1, Ecuadorian-grown habano-seed wrapper, while the binder and filler both come from Nicaragua. Specifically, the filler uses a mix of broadleaf, criollo and corojo leaves, though where they are from has not been disclosed. The cigar’s profile is described as being full-bodied with a sweet and spicy sensation on the palate, and strength delivered via retrohales.
Each cigar is finished off with a spiral colita cap that is intended to resemble a volcano, then packaged into individual coffins. Pricing is set at $20.75 per cigar and $145.25 for a box of seven cigars. It is produced at Fabrica de Tabacos Joya de Nicaragua S.A. in Estelí.
Krakatoa is the seventh release in the Muestra de Saka line, a collection of cigars with a name that means sample of Saka, and comes with an invitation to catch a glimpse into Steve Saka’s blending machinations. It’s a cigar that has been in the works for several years, first coming to light in 2021 but then was delayed in early 2022 due to lingering delays from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/10/tatuaje-face-redux-3-6-38-x-56-toro.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
The Face Redux 3 is a a 6 3/8 x 56 toro gordo vitola that uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over Nicaraguan binders and fillers. Tatuaje is producing 5,000 boxes of 13 cigars, a total of 65,000 cigars, for this redux release. Of those 5,000 boxes, 700 are individually numbered, while the other 4,300 are not. Pricing is set at $13 per cigar and $169 per box, regardless of whether it is numbered or not.
Tatuaje’s The Face became recognizable for using a jaggedly cut piece of Ecuadorian Connecticut tobacco to serve as the band, a nod to the movie monster Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, who was known for wearing a mask made of a person’s skin. Like its Monster Series predecessors, The Frank and The Drac, it came in boxes designed to look like coffins, complete with red paint splattered on them to mimic the look of blood. Only 13 retailers would get those dress boxes, which were limited to 666 individually numbered pieces, while a more traditional 10-count box was also created for widespread release. In total, 21,658 cigars were released for The Face.
The Face was also notable for being the first modern movie monster to be selected for Tatuaje’s Monster Series line, as Frankenstein and Dracula, both classic movie monsters, served as the inspiration for the first two releases in the series.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/10/macanudo-vintage-maduro-2013-robusto-5.html
(Description provided by General Cigar)
The world’s first Vintage cigar was created by Macanudo more than 40 years ago to spotlight an exceptional wrapper produced in part by Mother Nature. Today, the Vintage tradition marches on with Macanudo Vintage Maduro 2013. The five-country blend reflects optimal climatic conditions and calls upon meticulous curing and precise maturation techniques perfected by the artisans of Macanudo.
The 2013 growing season saw some of the highest temperatures on record in the Connecticut River Valley, with soaring humidity and optimal rainfall that yielded an exceptionally brawny Broadleaf tobacco. Cured and aged for an entire decade to bring forth an array of undeniably diverse notes on the palate, this singular tobacco makes its debut in Macanudo Vintage 2013.
Ernest Gocaj who oversees the Connecticut growing operations for Macanudo said, “The growing season in 2013 was one of the best I’ve ever seen. The crop was exceptional at harvest, which meant that we had to be obsessive when it came to monitoring the tobacco during the eight-week curing process. That’s how important curing is. Our hard work paid off because we ultimately brought the tobacco’s very best attributes to life.”
A master blender’s assortment of tobaccos complement this exceptional wrapper to create the rich indulgence that is Macanudo Vintage 2013. The filler is made up of Dominican Piloto Cubano from two different primings, along with Brazilian Mata Fina and Nicaraguan Jalapa. The binder is Honduran OSA.
With an enticing aroma of cedar and earth, this indulgent smoke delivers an orchestra of nuances including leather and earth which contrast beautifully against the backdrop of wood and espresso, setting the stage for a memorable smoking experience.
Macanudo Vintage 2013 is shipping to retailers today and will be released in three sizes, each chosen to enhance the superlative blend. The cigars are individually encased in cedar wrapping and are presented in handmade, solid wood boxes that protect 20 expertly-crafted cigars, each made by artisans at General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago, DR.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/10/punch-golden-era-robusto-5-x-50.html
(Description provided by General Cigar)
Punch invites cigar lovers to take a trip back in time with Punch Golden Era, a new, three-cigar collection that will be a full-time addition to the Punch anthology.
Punch Golden Era celebrates the beauty and versatility of the corojo tobacco that had a starring role in the “golden age” of cigars. Corojo had been used as the wrapper of choice until tobacco diseases and mold brought the tobacco to the brink of extinction.
Today, Punch is bringing Corojo tobacco back to its former glory, thanks to the famous Cuban seeds that have been cultivated on a 650-acre farm in Honduras by the Eiroa family.
The cigar is made with Honduran-grown, Cuban seed Corojo wrapper and binder, and its filler is comprised of Honduran-grown Habano and Cuban-seed Corojo tobacco.
John Hakim, brand manager for Punch said, “The Eiroa family has perfected Corojo tobacco and we are excited to bring it to life with Punch Golden Era. This tobacco delivers a silky, golden wrapper, a binder with ideal combustibility and a filler that produces unique spicy notes and a spectrum of nuances. We’re especially pleased to make a true Corojo experience available for cigar lover to enjoy any time the occasion calls for a rich and rewarding smoke.”
Mellow-to-medium-bodied, Punch Golden Era is elegant and refined. The cigar balances notes of earth, cream and nuts.
Punch Golden Era is hand made at Fabrica de Puros Aladino SA in Honduras. The cigars will be presented in 20-count boxes and will ship to retailers on May 1. The line will launch with three sizes.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/10/cohiba-riviera-robusto-5-x-52.html
(Description provided by General Cigar)
Cohiba welcomed its first full-time new collection since 2020 with Cohiba Riviera, a six-region blend that features the very best of Central American tobacco and is named after the lush San Andrés Tuxtla Valley that bore the cigar’s wrapper.
Cohiba Riviera marks the first time a Mexican San Andrés wrapper has been used in a Cohiba blend and is the first box-pressed offering from the brand.
Cohiba Brand Ambassador Sean Williams said, “Cohiba Riviera is a bold yet balanced blend of the most exceptional tobaccos from Nicaragua with exclusively-grown tobaccos from Honduras. Medium-to-full bodied and adorned with a delectable wrapper from Mexico, Riviera is an elegant selection offering notes of dark chocolate and coffee bean with a hint of leather and subtle cream on the finish.”
The three-cigar collection is handcrafted in Nicaragua at STG Estelí. The Mexican San Andrés wrapper crowns a Honduran-grown Connecticut binder and filler tobaccos that include proprietary Honduran Jamastran and Honduran La Entrada, as well as Nicaraguan Condega and Nicaraguan Estelí.
“The experience of Cohiba Riviera is rich and rewarding and befitting of Cohiba’s status as an ultra-premium cigar brand,” noted Williams.
