In a heroic attempt during the Christmas holiday season, the Wellesley Police Department and
firefighters came to the rescue of a dog in Charles River on December 22nd, 2013. Crosby, a 5-
year-old golden retriever, was out for a weekend walk in the woods in Wellesley, Massachusetts,
when she fell into the frozen Charles River -- and the entire mission was caught on film.

We're not sure how this poor doggy ended in the icy river. Precious Crosby went out for a walk in
the woods, next he fights for his life!

But what we do know for sure is that there are still good people out there who are brave enough to
help anyone. In this case, courageous firefighters came to the rescue immediately after they
received a call for rescue in Charles River.

Their quick reaction is what makes this story a happy one, with no serious consequences. They
walked into the freezing river and pulled out the doggy in the blink of an eye! Faith in humanity
restored.
