Besides hormones, our doctor team discusses the relationship between DHEA and cortisol levels. Managing cortisol helps with weight loss and anxiety. Also, Billy discusses how progesterone help women achieve better sleep.

CHAT:
11:57:37 From Lynn McGaha : This may well be discussed in the presentation. I understand that a drawback of blood tests for hormones is that they don't measure the free, unbound hormones, which is what is actually available to the tissues. Aren't blood tests for hormones therefore limited in value?
11:58:00 From Doris Fellenz : What causes post-menopausal women to have breakthrough bleeding? Is it hormones -Estrogen dominance?
11:58:27 From Martha Stark, MD : Yes, my 50-year-old patient is desperate to get some sperm back so that he and his 35-year-old wife can get pregnant. When he was younger, he was on “testosterone replacement” and now produces no sperm at all. He is desperate and willing to try anything!

12:02:34 From Lynn McGaha : Would I be better off not washing my hands in those circumstances?

Unfortunately the preponderant opinion is that you are losing minerals if you drink distilled water. Which is the water I drink because I live in an agricultural area with lots of row crop insectisides applies.
12:24:32 From Steve : Replying to "Thank you for that S..."

Yes Lynn, I fell for that distilled water myth for many decades.

Dr. Group finally convinced me of that fallacy.
12:24:46 From Martha Stark, MD : Dr. Michael might be 61 (according to his birth certificate) – but he is probably more like 35 because of everything wonderful that he does for himself (and recommends for his patients)!!
12:26:01 From Kelly Conway To Dr. Tom Lewis(privately) : Hey Dr Lewis! Howvare you?! I just wondered
I just heard recently that high amounts of BCAAs will damage mitochondria and mess with sperm in men taking as a supplement for fitness enhancements and especially when fatry acids are oxidizing causing ROS. Is this something about BCAA can lead to Metabolic dysfunction?

12:33:11 From Doris Fellenz : Good question Patricia.
12:33:54 From Patti Proper : Question for Billy-on the Dutch Test how do you lower the percentage of 4-OH pathway and shift the estrogen metabolism down the 2-OH pathway?
12:34:36 From Patti Proper : I used testosterone cream and my hair fell out. How do you prevent hair loss on testosterone
12:35:29 From Lynn McGaha : Thank you for that question Patti. That is my issue - high 4-OH when using estrogen creams.
12:35:36 From Steve : Replying to "what is the relation..."

It's usually DHT type of T that's involved in hair loss

That's a huge question Doris. some folks have issues in the methylation cycle where the B12 does not get transported. Lithium deficiency could be an issue.
12:40:06 From Martha Stark, MD : Are progesterone blood levels very reliable?
12:40:14 From Doris Fellenz : Joel the Trace Minerals Fulvic does is good and takes good. Just 15 drops per glass of water.

If your estrogen is already low, won’t DIM get rid of any little bit that’s left? I’m wondering

12:43:37 From Steve : Replying to "Thank you for that q..."

12:45:39 From Joy Gentle : How about low MSH - melanocyte stimulating hormone? Should we be measuring and what are interventions for low levels?
12:45:50 From Patti Proper : Replying to "Thank you for that q..."

I just want to more efficiently metabolize the estrogen but not get rid of all of the estrogen entirely bc my levels are low
12:46:02 From Kelly Conway : It had to do with something about the hormones in the adrenal cortex, and those glands/organs is separate from where cortisol or progesterone production is made so they couldn't steal from each other? I can't remember verbatim.
12:46:39 From Martha Stark, MD : I understand that “estrogen dominance” suggests not enough “progesterone” (relatively speaking). But what exactly does “estrogen dominance” mean? Dominance of estrone (E1), estradiol (E2), and/or estriol (E3)?
12:47:47 From Martha Stark, MD : And probiotics can “resolve” acid reflux?
12:48:37 From - : Yes. Methyl-B12 I have heard of that.
