Black Teen Breaking Academic Scholarships Record

Dennis Maliq Barnes is breaking records. At only 17 years old he's already been dual enrolled in University and high school, having earned all A's in his 27 college credits from Southern University of New Orleans. He's graduating high school with a cumulative 4.98 GPA as a fluent Spanish and English speaker and with athletic accolades from his basketball and football team memberships.

He still somehow found time to excel in his role as executive president of the National Honor Society. And yet NONE of that is what he's set the record in. At nearly 10 MILLION DOLLARS (cue Austen Powers Mr Evil quote) in scholarship offers, Maliq Barnes has officially made the Guiness Book of World Records, edging out the previous record holder also from Louisiana, Ms. Normandie Cormier.

What School gets the honor of Mr. Barnes next school year? That would be Cornell University, where he will pursue his dream of studying Computer Science.
