01.17.23: Indiana's District 33, Legislative Update! - State Representative JD Prescott.

This video is intended to provide an update on the legislation of the 2023 Indiana General Assembly for District 33. Brandon Rudd is not a legislator or an attorney, however, he is a political commentator, a constitutional watchdog & one of 3 Co-Hosts of "The Bastards of Politics!" He is simply utilizing the resources available to all citizens to give an update on the current Legislative Session as of January 17th, 2023.

Current State Representative for District 33, JD Prescott (R) has been asked to give a Town Hall style meeting to give a Legislative Update from his perspective, however, thus far, he has declined to do so.

00:07:50 ~ House Bill 1141 - Cap on assessed valuation increase for homesteads. Limits the annual increase in assessed value of a homestead to 5% unless: (1) ownership of the homestead changes; or (2) the increase results from physical changes to the homestead. 00:14:11 ~ House Bill 1142 - Law enforcement recordings. Provides that the direct cost that a state or local agency may charge for providing a copy of a law enforcement recording (recording) includes labor costs incurred to: (1) obscure nondisclosable information in the recording; and (2) perform an administrative review of the recording to determine if all nondisclosable information has been obscured. 00:20:01 ~ House Bill 1143 - Designation of state nickname. Provides that "The Hoosier State" is designated as the official nickname of the state of Indiana. Provides that the designation is to recognize and memorialize the legacy of Harry Hoosier. 00:23:45 ~ House Bill 1144 - State employment of probation officers. Provides that a probation officer is a state employee whose salary is: (1) fixed by the appointing court in accordance with minimum compensation requirements adopted by the judicial conference of Indiana; and (2) paid from the state general fund. 00:29:36 ~ House Joint Resolution 1 - Removes the superintendent of public instruction from the list of officeholders who shall discharge the powers and duties of the governor if the office of the governor and lieutenant governor are both vacant.
