THE TRUE CHURCH

The True Church is hidden in plain sight because many follow the traditions of their fathers and have never researched Church history.
Many common misconceptions about what Church is, but which is biblical?

Lets research Church in the BLB (Blue Letter Bible)
Translated Church in 73 verses in NT.
Translated Churches in 35 verses in NT.
The root Greek word for both is EKKLESIA
A few places translated ‘The Assembly’. Hebrews 2:12

Ekklesia means
- an assembly of people
- ‘called-out' ones
- Congregation etc

1. EKKLESIA REFERS TO PEOPLE.
Every time we see Church or Churches in the Bible,
If you imagine a building - WRONG understanding.
If you imagine ‘a people’ belonging to Jesus, you are getting the right picture. Correct!!
Actually, the early ‘Church’ met in homes. The idea of a building dedicated for worship and a place you go to, would have been foreign to them.
The Jews had a building and the Pagans also had a building, but the Disciples of Jesus (Ekklesia) were the only ones that did not have a building.
The early Ekklesia understood they themselves were the building.
Please note - The correct translation of Ekklesia is actually not Church but Church was chosen to fit what was being practiced. Church is Kuriakos (Belonging to God). See several articles onlinE.
Conclusion: EKKLESIA - A People from a kingdom (called out of darkness into God's marvellous light. 1 Peter 2:9)

2. SINGULAR NEVER PLURAL

Plural of Ekklesia is Ekklesiae, but it is not in Bible.

Ekklesia is translated plural in some verses but if we use the BLB, for example, Rev 1:4a, 1 Cor 7:17b, Acts 15:41, we see that it is always Ekklesia.
Translators of the Bible used plural to fit what the Institutions were practicing.

Compare
Acts 9:31a ‘Then the churches/Ekklesia throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified.’
1 Cor 7:17b ‘And so I ordain in all the churches/Ekklesia’
Acts 15:41 ‘And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches/Ekklesia.’

Conclusion: There is only one Church/Ekkesia!

3. A BODY (OF CHRIST)
Acts 8:3
‘As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison.’
Acts 22:7,8
‘And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’ 8 So I answered, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said to me, ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.’’
1 Cor 12:12
‘For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.’
Rom 12: 5
‘so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.’
Col 1:18
‘And He (Jesus) is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.’
One body. Whether:
a. In one location (house) - Rom 16:5 ‘Likewise greet the Ekklesia that is in their house.’
b. In many locations throughout a Country - Gal 1:2 ‘and all the brethren who are with me, To the Ekklesia of Galatia’
c. In many locations throughout a Continent - 1 Cor 16:19 ‘The Ekklesia of Asia greet you.
d. In many locations throughout the world - Eph 5:32 ‘This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the Ekklesia'

Imagine the Body of a Man, the head being Jesus Christ and the body is made up of every other disciple, all equal in significance (each with the Holy Spirit).
God knows who is really in The Body of Christ because it is the Holy Spirit that puts us in (1 Cor 12:13).
Signs follow those in The Body of Christ - Preaching, healing the sick, baptising in water & Holy Spirit, setting free by casting out demons & making disciples (Mark 16:15-18).
Naturally, disciples meet in groups and fellowship as equals. No hierarchy.

Conclusion: The Ekklesia is The Body of Christ, with Jesus Himself being the head (The One that has the agenda and makes ALL the decisions). Jesus is coming back soon; for those in His Body.

4. A TEMPLE
John 2:19 “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
Matt 26:61 “ ...within three days I will build another made without hands.’ ”
1 Peter 2:5 ‘you also, as living stones, ...'
Matt 16:18 'I will build My Ekklesia,..'
Jesus is building His Temple, with living stones.
It’s spiritual.
We help by bringing the living stones to Him.
Important because the Ekklesia in your understanding is the one you build.

The True Church is the Ekklesia.
It is The Body & Bride of Christ, with Jesus as the head that Jesus is coming back for. It is Singular & never divided, Invincible, spiritual, a temple Jesus is building as we bring living stones & we are put in by the Holy Spirit.

Make sure you are in the Ekklesia and you are helping to build it.
May God help us
