New Brunswick Canada provincial government introduced amendments to the Tobacco and Electronic Cigarette Sales Act a few days ago and tobacco harm reduction shops known as Vape Shops will be required to buy an annual $100 license to fund the Department of Health’s public education campaign designed to reduce substance use. Meanwhile Canada’s convenience store industry is pissed off at Saskatchewan for eliminating flavors from their stores, arguing that the new legislation gives vape shops a flavor monopoly and makes it harder for adult smokers to quit because convenience stores offer convenience to it’s customers. In the United States the part time politicians have gone on Holiday for the summer but their legislative decisions are now being pointed out by scientists as disastrous for public health.
