This video shows the unboxing of a new EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 T2, 80+ TITANIUM 1000W, Fully Modular, EVGA ECO Mode (220-T2-1000-X1) Power Supply.

I'm upgrading my 2017 era PC's graphics card from a EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Super XC Hybrid Gaming, 08G-P4-3188-KR to a EVGA RTX 3080 ti RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING, 12G-P5-3968-KR.

The GPU upgrade is mainly to support better performance for the HP Reverb G2 headset I'm using for flight/space & driving sims (like Star Wars Squadrons and Project CARS). But it's also to update my system so I can keep using it as new games come out for another 4 years.

The 2080 Super XC draws 225w and the 3080ti uses 350w so I needed to upgrade my 750w power supply.

Space is tight at the bottom of my be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 ATX Full Tower (Rev 1) case. My old power supply was short enough for two 140mm fans to be installed in the base after I jerry-rigged a new bracket to hold the power supply so the back of the supply was flush with the back of the case.

The main reason I chose the EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 T2 because it's Titanium rating allowed the new supply the same size as my old one (a be quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 750W 80+ Platinum) even though it puts out 250w more power. Since it's the same size, I could keep the two 140mm fans.

I bought SuperNOVA 1000 T2 through the EVGA notification queue. Fortunately I got into the queue in June 2021 because recently the queue has been frozen because I guess bots/scalpers are still grabbing most of the cards. So it took about 3 months in the queue to get my power supply at list price.

I'll follow up this video with my experience of installing it in my PC.

I have a custom built (by me in 2017) PC powered by:
1) ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X CODE Motherboard
2) Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz 6-Core LGA 1151 Processor
3) be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 ATX Full Tower: Orange case

I normally use an ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 27" Monitor to play games on my PC, but some games like driving games and flight/space simulators are much better if you can move your head around and see in different directions. It provides much more immersion.
