Welcome to this walking tour of #Weymouth #Esplanade and #Harbour, and the very first video here on the Exploring Britain channel!
Located on the South Coast of #Dorset, Weymouth is a seaside town with a rich history, and alongside its neighbouring town, Portland, played host to the sailing events during the 2012 Olympic Games. Weymouth is a popular staycation destination, with a regular train service from London and Bristol.

If you’re after seaside fun by the bucket load, Weymouth’s award winning beach and vibrant harbour offers you just that!

The golden sands of Weymouth's stunning beach will take your breath away. Take time to sit back and admire the view or if you're looking for something to entertain the kids then there's Punch & Judy and donkey rides.

The beach is also home to some international sporting events!

Just steps away, the quaint, colourful quayside harbour offers gift shops, alfresco dining, crabbing, antiques emporiums and award winning fish and chips.

Weymouth Beach also regularly features in the top 10 in TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards for best beach in Europe! So why not grab your towel and head to the beach this summer! Just remember to bring your suncream!

Weymouth beach really does offer time-honoured seaside fun for everyone, whether you’re aged 8 months or 80 years!

Shriek with laughter at Punch & Judy, bounce high on the trampolines, have fun on the children’s rides and donkeys and visit fantastic attractions such as the Sealife Park.

There’s plenty to relax you too; wander along the level promenade, hire a pedalo or a deckchair and enjoy a lazy lunch at one of the Esplanade café’s.
