Single dad life..... Kitchen concoctions. I don't know what you call this other than SOS #15. It turned out pretty good.

This is what happens when batteries are left out in the cold and not kept charged. It might still work some even after it took some charge, but it's definitely not going to have the capacity that it did.

Here's how I do it from start to finish. This works for chicken or beef. Just switch the meat and broth. Of course, always follow "approved" recipes and the canner manufacturer's instructions.

This is what it looks like when a jar blows up. It makes a mess, but isn't the end of the world....unless you did something like pull off the weight regulator and dumped the pressure rapidly and blew up all your jars!

This is why I chose to spend more $ and get a weighted gauge rather than a dial gauge pressure canner. I suggest doing yourself a favor and do the same. It's much easier to have a spare weight or two on hand in case you lose one than to worry about gaskets rotting, gauges being out of calibration and losing pressure while canning.

I think this is the last trip, the weather is supposed to be nasty the rest of the season and then it's Sunday for the last day of the year. No birds for me this year, but I gave it a good try.

SCORE! I got a free snowblower. After starting it, gas began pouring out of the vent. Here's the problem and solution.

I dug this radio out of the corner tonight and played with it again. All of the squealing is gone. So far so good! I'll take it as a win for now. I like older radios because they're simple.

I figured this year I'd do Christmas in jars. Sure, I'm spilling the beans and people will figure out what they're getting, BUT....they have to suffer for a few weeks. It ain't Christmas yet.
