🤯 4 to 6 times faster than a slow cooker!
For a number of years now, I have been using a VitaClay Multi-Cooker.
And I really, really love it. It enables us to do FAST slow cooking. 🙌🏻
You might be wondering: Do I really *want* one? Do I need one? Am I going to wait? Am I going to jump right in?
I have found that the VitaClay cooker just does things so well and so fast and so conveniently. I'll use it at least as often, if not more, than the Instant Pot.
If you've been the "set it and forget it" lover of cooking... if you've had a slow cooker for years... you might really love the VitaClay, too... because it can do things FASTER.
Or, if you've been intimidated by pressure cooking... because all that pressure... is it safe? This could be an easier entry into a multi-function appliance for you.
What makes the VitaClay so great?
Here's reason number one: The VitaClay cooker is, depending on the recipe, between four and six times faster 🤯 than the typical slow cooker that we all grew up using!
For the rest of the reasons it's so great... plus my full review (including a coupon code!)... plus how it compares to the Instant Pot... and which model I recommend... go here:

Do you REALLY need it? 🤔
🤔 Do you REALLY need it?
It can be tempting when we find a new appliance to think, "Oh, it can do this, this, this, and THIS. I'm going to do EVERYTHING with it!"
Yet... we all have our different preferences for the way we like to cook things, and those tried and true methods don't have to change.
You're still going to have your favorite recipes that you do in the oven, on the stovetop, etc.
If you're in a normal functioning kitchen, avoid setting an expectation that an appliance is going to be the end all be all.
As in... "To make it worth it, I have to figure out how to make my bread and my soap and everything in it." 😂
Find the ways where it makes your life easier, your results better. Celebrate those, but don't feel like you have to replace everything.
And also don't feel guilty for coming back to... "No, I don't want to change how I do (insert recipe)."
Buy the new appliance if you're excited about it and you see the possibilities. If you think it could change your life in just one way... it would be a worthwhile investment.
But if you're not sure, wait!
Having said all this: I do love a good appliance! Most recently, I am loving doing FAST slow cooking in special appliance that's like a slow cooker... but 5x faster.
"Set-it-and-forget-it" a lot faster... still using our Eat God's Way methods that make foods more nutritious and digestible... and still delicious!
If you or someone you might want to know more about cooking this way, we are currently enrolling students in our new "FAST Slow Cooking" class.
To get more info... email me at help@traditionalcookingschool or text 1-317-434-1180 so I can share the details.
P.S. What's Eat God's Way? It's our simple and methodical process to help you and your family get healthier and happier... save money and time... without giving up your favorite foods.
BTW Eat God's Way is not a fad diet or a set of rules. We eat this way to say "Thank you, Lord." To give Him glory and honor His creation by embracing the foods He designed for our nourishment. 🙏🏻

It's a bad pattern... so I threw it out! 😳
It's a bad pattern... so I threw it out! 😳
Besides cooking, I love to crochet and knit... and a few days ago, I tried a new crochet pattern.
It had like 3 mistakes in it. Things that didn't work and didn't make sense. 🤦🏻♀️
So I threw that pattern out and I'm moving on to a GOOD one. One that makes sense and doesn't have mistakes.
This reminds me of BAD recipes I've tried... with unhealthy or processed ingredients or they are just wrong or poorly written. Or... they taste awful! Yuck.
And while I can't claim to be perfect (everyone is human), I do think our recipes are GOOD.
Healthy ingredients, tried-n-true, plus they taste good. 🙌🏻

Rejoice in the Lord Alway 🍞
"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice." —Phil 4:4
It's easy for cooking to feel like a chore, especially when you're overwhelmed, busy, and pulled in a million different directions.
I feel the same way. And yet, when I'm doing something repetitive, like kneading, something happens.
It's like time stands still. It's just me and the dough and the motion.
I feel such joy and peace. And I can't help but thank the Lord for that small gift of happiness, no matter how long it lasts.
I Rejoice!
So here's my reminder for you: When life is hard, give thanks for *something*... even if it's just a moment of calm kneading dough.
Or that you get to eat something made by someone's loving hands.
In case you didn't know, around here we "Eat God's Way"...
Which means... our recipes and methods use high-quality, simple whole foods along with cooking methods from Bible Times that save you money and time, while providing nutritious, digestible, and delicious meals and snacks for your family.

5 Things I Love About Baking 😍
🙋🏻♀️ Just call me simple! I love EVERY part of baking... mixing, kneading, rolling, cooking, and yes of course... eating!
I find it simple, relaxing, and refreshing. And I love getting back to basics and enjoying the rewards... like fresh bread!
(I was making sourdough flatbreads here.)
In Eat God's Way, it's all about getting back to basics.
Simple methods. Simple tools. Simple whole foods. Simple goodness.

I love our Danish Dough Whisk! 🙌🏻
I love our Danish dough whisk!
It's ideal when you have soaked flour recipes, because soaked dough is usually pretty stiff, yet you still need to break it up to add more ingredients.
With the Danish dough whisk, you don't have as much resistance as with a wooden spoon, so it's easier to move through the dough, mixing and breaking it up.
Have you heard of "soaking" or "soaked flour recipes"?
It's one of the Eat God's Way traditional cooking techniques that makes your baked goods more nutritious and digestible (fewer tummy aches) through a simple step of "soaking" the flour ahead of time.
You might think it sounds complicated or time consuming. No, it's not!
Here's why...
1) It literally takes 2 minutes to get a dough soaking.
2) Your recipe is that much farther ahead when you go to bake it... so you're already ahead!
3) Often, the texture of what you're baking turns out sooo much better! (This alone is a game-changer.)
4) And did I mention your tummy will be happier? Many people who have trouble with flour and grains find their digestion is improved with soaking or other Eat God's Way traditional cooking methods.
Would you like to learn more about this easy technique or try any of our Eat God's Way recipes?

Homemade Hot Cocoa Surprise!
After getting off chocolate, I started enjoying carob like I never had before.
I used to hate it... now I really, really enjoy it.
Why switch?
One of the big issues we have as women: we have self-medicated with chocolate. I certainly have!
I ate a ton of chocolate. I was addicted to the caffeine boost and the copper in chocolate.
Copper can become toxic if you have too much in your body.
It's a heavy metal. And when you have too much, you become estrogenic, you can have nerve pain, you can have headaches, you can have hormone imbalances, you can have sleep problems because it's making you wired, but tired.
Chocolate is abundant in copper (and caffeine). Yet carob is caffeine-free, and has less than one fifth the amount of copper as cocoa.
Whether it's chocolate chips versus carob chips, hot cocoa versus carob cocoa, you are reducing your copper intake by at least 5 times.
Significant when you consider the effects of copper on your hormones, etc.!
You can use it interchangeably in all your recipes... including our Eat God's Way recipes!
In this video, I am making homemade hot "cocoa" with carob and it's every bit as yummy!
In Eat God's Way, we use quality, whole foods. Which makes substituting around your particular dietary needs pretty easy... and delicious!

Cake to the rescue! 😋
Cake to the rescue! A healthy, whole food cake, that is!
I woke up a little under on Monday morning, partially due to not sleeping well.
But the show must go on! Right?!
So we made cake! A healthy, whole food, naturally sweetened blueberry cake. 😋
Yes, I got my regular healthy 3 squares in, too. Protein, whole grains, healthy fats, etc. 🙌🏻
And cake!
I'm so thankful for Eat God's Way.
Because we use a handful of inexpensive whole foods and follow simple recipes... baking truly seems easy! (Except scooping batter into the pan LOL... that felt a little like a workout on this day!)
We're not dirtying a mountain of dishes or following a hundred little steps.
Which makes it that much easier to get healthy, delicious, satisfying desserts, snacks, breakfasts, and main dishes on the table fast.
Without breaking the bank... and flexible around your dietary needs and preferences. This cake is allergen-free, if you can believe it!

Why cookie cutter fad diets don't work...
Cookie cutter fad diets don't work... because you are UNIQUE!
You see... underneath, we each have toxicities and deficiencies that play out differently.
God made each one of us uniquely, and we believe He's given each one of us a unique path in terms of the joys and sufferings we will experience in this world.
With your health journey, it all comes down to you and what toxins you are storing in your body, in your liver especially, but also in your other organs (because those affect your hormones and digestion and your whole system).
How do you flush those out? How do you get those toxins out of your body? Your unique-to-you diet plays a key role here!
And also... what deficiencies you have, especially minerals, that are essential under normal conditions (and they're depleted in soil, so everybody needs them), but are needed in greater quantities when you have toxicities.
Again, your diet is key here... along with a few key simple supplements where necessary.
I hope this sounds freeing to you... because it is!
How does Eat God's Way fit into all this? Well, there's no other way of eating that is so easily customizable to what YOU need individually.
Because... Eat God's Way recipes and methods use high-quality, simple whole foods along with cooking methods from Bible Times that save you money and time, while providing nutritious, digestible, and delicious meals and snacks for your family.
You eat the foods that work for you and prepare them using God's methods... and voila. You're healing instead of hurting.

Macadamia nuts are a special, special nut 🙏🏻
Did you know that macadamia nuts are a special, special nut? Yes! 🙌🏻
They're a good source of vitamin B1... so that's good for energy. 🙏🏻 Food is medicine, as they say!
I also love macadamia nuts because they are NOT high in copper like many other nuts and seeds.
Why not copper? Well, many of us here are women and we've eaten a lot of chocolate in our lives... which has probably messed with our hormones quite a bit. (Topic for another day!)
So even though macadamia nuts are more expensive, they're just a really good nut all around.
I use them quite a bit in my baking, for homemade nut milk, and as a snack!
I am so thankful God gave us delicious and nutritious whole foods... and these whole foods are the foundation of Eat God's Way.

❓How much probiotics should you consume?
❓Anonymous asks: "Is there any health concern about drinking kefir water regularly and frequently? Concerned about wrong or too many probiotic."
As much as everyone wants rules for this, there simply aren't rules. It depends on YOU and your body and what YOU need (or don't need).
Yes, I teach fermenting and probiotics, but that doesn't mean everyone should have them or the same amount.
If people have too much probiotic *for them* they end up feeling worse instead of better.
It *is* possible to have too much of a good thing!
To figure out how much you can have, keep your diet very simple while you're testing.
Then pay attention... are you getting headaches or sleepy, not feeling well, not sleeping well, or having digestive distress?
The probiotic culture might be brand new to your gut, so you might have to start small and adjust over time.
If you're having too much or too frequently, you might feel worse. And that's a sign to slow down or potentially NOT have it.
That's right, I said "or NOT have it".
The beauty of Eat God's Way is to find the right combination of foods and nutrients for YOU.
It's not: you have to eat this or that.
Instead, our Eat God's Way recipes and methods use high-quality whole foods along with cooking methods from Bible Times that make *whatever foods you can eat* more nutritious and digestible. And delicious.
If you or anyone you know would like to learn more about Eat God's Way and how it might help you and your family get healthier and happier... save money and time... without giving up your favorite foods... or forcing you to eat things you hate or that make you feel not-so-good...

❓Should you eat sugar substitutes?
❓Should you eat sugar substitutes?
With just a couple years of having erythritol and xylitol (sugar substitutes, sugar alcohols), my digestive system rebelled... extreme distress. 😩
To me, it's just not worth it! Instead, I choose to have natural sweeteners, but less of them.
So I still have the enjoyment, but not the extreme sweetness or sugar overload. Mostly, I use coconut sugar and maple syrup, both low glycemic index and tasty. In moderation!
These two work with my digestive system and my consumption goals. 🙏🏻
The truth is, we can get in trouble with sugar substitutes. It just tends to happen.
With them, we might think, "Oh, I can have lots of this." But then many of us (I'm not the only one) end up with our bodies rebelling against it.
And... to be honest, we also stay addicted to a sweet taste because it's just sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet all the time with these sugar substitutes!
We're all much better off with real sweeteners, yet less of them.
That's the better long term play. We still get the enjoyment, yet we're not overdoing or running into problems because of artificial/substitute sweeteners (or excess sugar, period).
Once again... another reason to get back to what God designed for our nourishment. 🙏🏻 We call it Eat God's Way.
Our Eat God's Way recipes and methods use high-quality whole foods (aka real sweeteners) along with cooking methods from Bible Times that make those foods more nutritious and digestible. Without sacrificing taste! We LOVE our food!

🤦🏻♀️ I'm getting more and more behind! Will I ever catch up?
🤦🏻♀️ "I'm getting more and MORE behind! Will I ever catch up?"
Are you tired of the never-ending cycle of dishes piling up in your kitchen?
Feeling like you just finished one meal and now it's time to make another?
I know how overwhelming it is to constantly feel like you're playing catch-up... especially when you're *trying* soooo hard to cook and eat healthy, plan your menus, and account for everyone's preferences.
Here's a not-so-secret secret to help you not feel so behind:
❤️ Between you and the kids, go to bed with a clean kitchen, so you're not starting the new day behind.
❤️ After breakfast, make sure the kitchen is clean... so you're not starting lunch behind.
❤️ After lunch, tidy the kitchen... so you're not starting dinner behind.
❤️ And so on!
Make it a habit to clean up after each meal. By taking a few extra minutes to wash the dishes, wipe down the countertops, and tidy up the kitchen, you won't feel behind the next time you get in there.
In fact, you will probably enjoy cooking more! 😎
But don't stop there!
I've written a book called "Eat God's Way" that will not only help you save time and money in the kitchen but also give you tips and recipes (using simple and nutritious Bible Times cooking methods) to help your family get healthier and happier.
The Eat God's Way book is FREE, and I even include a companion cookbook so you can test out a few simple recipes to see what your family thinks.

Should I be concerned????
❓❓Should I be concerned???
"My sourdough starter is three months old and I tend to just eyeball it to feed it. Do you still measure yours? It seems to be working out." —Patricia
This is exciting, Patricia! You're hitting the point in your journey where you're finding your groove... yet doubting just a bit.
Don't worry! You are doing great!
No, I don't measure my starter anymore. I just eyeball it.
If I need a lot of starter for a recipe, I just add a lot of flour.
If I don't need very much, I add a couple spoonfuls of flour just to keep it going.
I don't measure my water, either. I hold the bowl under the drinking water filter, and put in what I think it needs.
YOU, Patricia, are doing great. I love it!
For those reading along... when you start using Bible times cooking methods like sourdough, at first you might worry you're going to kill your starter if you veer off course at all.
However, with time and experience (which doesn't take very long)... you'll get into your groove, too.
Would you like to learn my simple method for sourdough?
It's in my FREE Eat God's Way 2-book set, specifically the companion cookbook.
